    WE Video and Q&A

    Wednesday, April 18, 2007 | 02:03 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles,TV/Radio/Web

Dylan told us about a two-minute video of Tori talking about the recording of “Big Wheel” on the WE.tv video player. (WE is an American cable network aimed for women. ) A quick search of the site reveals a Q&A with Tori about American Doll Posse and, you guessed it, a link to Epic’s ADP contest.

    Newsday's "Wheel" of Approval (April 17, 2007)

    Tuesday, April 17, 2007 | 03:15 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

Newsday’s Glenn Gamboa has heard “Big Wheel” and likes what he hears:

Tori Amos’ new single, “Big Wheel” (Epic), is also heavy on the percussion, a bit of a roots-rocker crossed with KT Tunstall, until it takes a wacky Tori twist and she throws in a drum countdown and naughty bridge before the self-proclaimed hot mama gets back to business, making “Big Wheel” her most likable work in years.

    Gay & Night Interview Preview

    Sunday, April 15, 2007 | 19:54 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

Martijn had the opportunity to interview Tori for the magazine Gay & Night and has posted about their conversation on the atforumz Main Tori Forum. Head on over to read all of his impressions but the key news is that Tori wants to record every show from the coming tour and make them available for download and, for the ten best shows, master them properly for release on CD.

The interview will be published in the June issue of Gay & Night and an edited version will be posted on GAY.NL around the release date of the album.

    KataWeb Interview

    Saturday, April 14, 2007 | 23:12 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

Fabz and youremyenergy alerted us to another Italian interview that came out of Tori’s swing through Italy promoting American Doll Posse. This one is on KataWeb. In the article, Tori talks about the five members of the Doll Posse, Catholic stereotypes of women and that she feels she can speak more freely now that Tash is older. She also says that the Pope and other Vatican officials are invited to the Rome concert which she calls a “communion of women to which everyone is invited.”

-Babelfish and other online translation services make a mess of the interview when turned to English, so if anyone can offer a human-readable translation to English for the site, we would appreciate it!-

Thanks to Andy for providing this translation of the article into English!

    Who's Tori Now? (Scotsman, April 8, 2007)

    Monday, April 09, 2007 | 02:40 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

“I think one of the better things I did was to play kooky for the Brits because they needed that. In the Nineties there weren’t a lot of American singer-songwriters breaking through here. Brits traditionally do like eccentricity and so I allowed that to flourish, and look, there are a lot of other artists that didn’t have the success that I have.”

(So the “k” word is all your fault, Great Britain!)

This article appeared in the April 8th edition of The Scotsman. You can read it on-line or read it below.

    Rolling Stone Ranks ADP

    Saturday, April 07, 2007 | 15:15 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

Rolling Stone has included American Doll Posse in their list of fifty must-hear records that are being released this Spring. Here’s what they have to say about the album:

    Tori Amos
    American Doll Posse
    Out May 1st

For Amos’ ninth album, the singer came up with a new concept: She wrote and sang the songs from the perspective of five characters. “These women are symbolic of different personality traits and different beliefs,” says Amos. “It’s no different than Ziggy Stardust as an extension of David Bowie.” She also gets explicitly political on the anti-Bush tunes “Yo George” and “Dark Side of the Sun” and fleshed out her classic piano-driven sound with some new influences: “I had myself open up to the Clash and the Doors,” she says.

    Tori's Take On Britney

    Saturday, April 07, 2007 | 14:35 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

In an article originating from World Entertainment News Network, an entertainment news broker for the media, Tori is quoted as defending Britney Spears’ recent troubles. The brief article has been reprinted on several music news websites but the GlossLip gossip blog, rather thoughtfully, explores the issue.

Read on for the WENN article but swing by GlossLip for their analysis.
