Frankie Revelations: Australian Tour A Go!

    Saturday, April 07, 2007 | 01:42 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles,Touring

Benjamin Law writes in to tell us that he recently had the honor of interviewing Tori for Frankie, an Australian magazine at which he is a senior writer. The full interview will be, of course, published in a forthcoming issue, sometime before Tori’s Australian tour. Yes, you heard that right. Australian tour. During the interview, she confirmed that the ADP world tour would be taking her back Down Under:

I’m coming in September. We’re doing Australia, don’t you worry, posse’s coming to Australia. And the show starts [with] four different girls. Well, there’s four different starts, so it depends on what show you go to. And then after a fashion [swap], then Tori comes out.

Benjamin was also kind enough to provide us with an excerpt from the interview which takes a novel approach: the questions are lyrics from her previous work.

    Is it sweet, your sting?

Not always. I’d like to tell you that it was. If I’m able to step into a compassionate place, then it can be sweet. However, if you cross the line — and that might have to do with my daughter — then you know what? I’m going to rip your arm off. And I won’t even add salt to it. You’re going to lose an appendage. If somebody starts winding up your child, then I just say, “Enough. Deal with the big girls. You wanna play that? You play with momma. I’ll play with you all fucking day, motherfucker.” That’s how I am, as a mother. Ferocious.

Australian fans, keep your eyes on newsstands between now and September!

Matt's Blog Drums Up Tour Excitement

    Friday, March 23, 2007 | 22:32 UTC | Posted by Beth | Them,Touring

Matt Chamberlain’s latest blog entry describes — in impressively geeky detail — the custom drum set he’s putting together for the upcoming tour:

One thing that has been going on that I am really excited about is I have drumbuilder extrordinaire (sic) Ronn Dunnett building me a titanium shelled ’70s era Drumkit for the upcoming Tori Amos tour. The sizes are all classic depths—24” kick—13” rack 8” Piccolo/bongo tom—16” 18” floor toms—28“x10” side kick—8” Piccolo Snare—6 1/2“x14” Ludwig Chief TI snare. The rest of the rig will be a Midi Kat pad with a Mac Laptop running Ableton Live. The Cymbals are a variety of Istanbul Agop and Pieces of Greg Keplinger Hammered Metal.

    Thanks, Devin, for the tip.

Ljubljana Tickets On Sale (For Real)

    Thursday, March 22, 2007 | 14:23 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

In all the hub-bub about the new album, posses, and blogs, the Ljubljana show going on sale almost slipped under the radar. Thanks to one soldier of the army of spies who noticed that this concert on sale now at Eventim.si (if you can’t read that, click on the English link at the bottom of the page and then search for Tori and you’ll get the same link but in English). You must be registered with the site to purchase tickets. And it does not appear that you can select your seat location.

Note: the show appears to be taking place at Hala Tivoli rather than Krizanke as previously advertised.

    Australian Doll Posse?

    Wednesday, March 21, 2007 | 11:26 UTC | Posted by Violet | Touring

Fabz hooks us up with some news from Down Under. Perhaps not super specific or definite, but at least it’s something.

(You can also see the “not really the album cover, but maybe it is, but it’s not official, so maybe it’s not, but it COULD be, but maybe not” pic at that same link.)

Preferred Seating Hints at an Australian Tour

    Tuesday, March 20, 2007 | 13:20 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Preferred Seating, an Australian ticket reseller, has added a waitlist for Tori to their website. While this is no guarantee that there are any plans for Tori to play in Australia on this tour, it does bode well for her to return to Oz. Thanks to Marissa and Phoebe for letting us know!

    June 26 — Ljubljana, Slovenia
ToriAmos.com says tickets will be available from concerts.at and they list the show on their artist page for Tori. However, keep an eye on concerts.si and Ticketline Slovenia as well (the latter allows you to subscribe to a Tori Amos newsletter and appears to be the ticketing agency that concerts.si actually uses for selling).
