De Kruitfabriek Session Coming On Friday

    Wednesday, September 26, 2012 | 05:49 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

This Friday, September 28th, Tori will be in session on the Belgian television program De Kruitfabriek.

To whet the appetite, they’ve posted her performance of “Silent All These Years,” which was broadcast on Monday night, on their website and on YouTube. Not sure if this performance was broadcast live or recorded earlier on Monday (but the latter possibility is backed up by comments Tori made on BBC 6 Music on Tuesday).

De Kruitfabriek airs on Vier at 7:45 PM CEST.

Thanks to Shireen, Erik with a k and mayfly for the pointers!

Stream Today's Radcliffe And Maconie Interview

    Wednesday, September 26, 2012 | 05:48 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori swung by the BBC 6 Music studios to chat with Mark “Macbeth” Radcliffe and Stuart “MacDuff” Maconie on their fine radio program today. There was no live performance but they did play “Flavor” from the album and talked with her for about a half-hour. You can check out the interview for the next week on iPlayer at the link above. A clip from the interview should be available long-term as well, though it’s not there yet.

    The NME 66 Second Interview

NME gives Tori the lighting round treatment in their 66 Second Interview. Questions both sublime and ridiculous leads to entertainment most entertaining!

Stream BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour

    Wednesday, September 26, 2012 | 05:48 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

If you missed Tori’s apeparance on Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4 yesterday, you can stream it through next Monday on BBC’s iPlayer. The portion of the show with Tori, which features a conversation with host Jane Garvey and a performance of “Cloud On My Tongue,” starts around the 22 minute mark in the program.

They’ve also added a clip of the interview where Tori addresses her relationship with her mother. Since they kindly offer embed codes, we suspect that this clip will be available online well after the whole program no longer is.

    Gold Dust Newsbits

    Wednesday, September 26, 2012 | 05:47 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

The Gold Dust promotional choo-choo train is chugging its way throughout Europe and, as a result, a couple short news pieces have cropped up.

Austria’s ORF2’s news program Zeit Im Bild aired a short clip (warning: the video autoplays) with Tori in Vienna while Spain’s EFE interviewed Tori while she was in Madrid for the Times Talk.

Times Talk Madrid Archive Now Available

    Sunday, September 23, 2012 | 21:34 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Featuring a very nice conversation with New York Times music critic Jon Pareles, a question and answer session with audience members and two as-of-yet unshared songs from Gold Dust (“Cloud On My Tongue” and “Flying Dutchman”), Tori’s appearance at Times Talk Madrid just wrapped up a short time ago. The event was webcast and is now archived so if you missed it or just want to watch it again, stream it on Livestream.

    Reminder: Times Talk Madrid Today

    Sunday, September 23, 2012 | 18:50 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Just a quick reminder that Tori will be chatting with New York Times music critic Jon Pareles about Gold Dust in Madrid today as part of the New York Times’ Times Talk Madrid event. Their conversation is scheduled to start at 9:00 PM CEST, so it’ll be getting started about a hour from when this post goes up. The event will be webcast and, hopefully, archived for later viewing as well.

    Yet More Upcoming Media Appearances

    Saturday, September 22, 2012 | 18:38 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

In addition to this weekend’s TimesTalk in Madrid and next week’s appearance on Radcliffe and Maconie, two new media appearances in the Gold Dust media onslaught have surfaced.

First, LBC presenter Steve Allen interviewed Tori earlier this week and their conversation will be broadcast on his weekly In Conversation With program on Sunday, September 23rd at 6:00 AM BST. Yeah, it’s early in the morning locally (and late tonight for those in North America) but LBC programs are not archived and their podcasts are a pay-service so getting up early (or staying up late) for it might be in order. Note: while the interview is not mentioned in the description for the show in their schedule, it is confirmed at the end of Steve Allen’s latest blog.

Second, BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour will welcome Tori in for a chat and live performance on Monday, September 24th at 10:00 AM BST — a much more felicitous airtime we would say. In any case, if you miss it, this program will be archived on iPlayer for a week following the broadcast.

BBC Entertainment: The Light Princess Has To Be Better Than Good

    Wednesday, September 19, 2012 | 11:42 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

BBC Entertainment & News has posted a second video clip from Tim Masters’ interview with Tori. This time, the subject is The Light Princess musical: its current status and plans for 2013.

View the clip at bbc.co.uk. Below is the accompanying caption that was posted with it.

Tori Amos: ‘Princess musical has to be better than good’

18 September 2012 Last updated at 19:31 ET

Singer Tori Amos says she hopes her musical The Light Princess will be ready by the end of 2013.

The singer said the project, which was put on hold in October last year, is a “great challenge”.

She told the BBC’s Tim Masters she has been working with the National Theatre’s Sir Nicholas Hytner on making the musical “better than good”.

    Thanks to @EarWithFeet the tip!

Update: A longer article has been posted as well. It includes the same video clip though.

Update: Broadway.com and The Guardian both reported on the status of the musical based on the BBC’s interview and article.

Rolling Stone Interview And Song Premiere (September 18, 2012)

    Tuesday, September 18, 2012 | 23:08 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles,TV/Radio/Web

For this record, these “song-girls” have passports, they’ve been around the world. I’ve met a lot of people, who in turn told me their stories about my music, so each song has endless Polaroids attached to it. It’s been building over the years.

Rolling Stone kicked off the promotion for Gold Dust in earnest with a lengthy interview which addresses key points about the record from building context for the collection to song selections. Perhaps of greater interest though is that two full songs from the album, “Silent All These Years” and “Gold Dust,” are included with the interview for everyone’s listening pleasure! So while reading the interview, check out the songs on Rolling Stone’s Hear It Now player.
