NPR has added the archived video of last Friday’s webcast from (le) poisson rouge to their website. So, if you missed the webcast, had problems during it or just want to see it again, now you can! (You can also still stream the audio if that’s more your speed.)

On a related note, according to Ann Powers, the pre-show interview of Tori she did prior to the show will be used for a radio special in the Winter, though the transcript should be posted on The Record shortly.

    Cornflake Girl Exposed

    Friday, October 12, 2012 | 02:35 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web,Video

“Cornflake Girl” has gotten the explanatory treatment in NME’s “Classic Songs” series. Taken from the same interview that NME posted a clip from a week or so ago, Tori talks about the meaning and origins of the imagery in the song. Perhaps this is not complete news to all but there’s some good nuggets of knowledge here about one of Tori’s biggest hits.

Tori Joins Nemone In The Record Exchange

    Monday, October 08, 2012 | 18:13 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

This past Sunday morning, October 7th, Tori joined Nemone for the Record Exchange, a regular segment on her BBC 6 Music radio program where the she and her guest pick out a song for each other and have a little chat about the songs. As the interview was pre-recorded, the conversation centered on the then upcoming show at Royal Albert Hall, the new record and, as you can see in the picture to the right, Tori’s heels. As for the songs, Nemone picked “Diablo Rojo” by Rodrigo Y Gabriela while Tori went with Don McLean’s “American Pie,” thinking about the upcoming election in the States.

If you missed it, slept through it (like we did) or just want to listen to it again, the program is available on-demand on the BBC iPlayer through next Sunday. The segment with Tori start just after the 2 hour point.

Tori And Fashion And Cornwall Oh My!

    Sunday, September 30, 2012 | 18:06 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

The German magazine Brigitte has published a collection of photographs of Tori showing off some new Fall fashions. Taken by Jan Rickers in Cornwall’s countryside, they’re really quite lovely. There’s six in all, though the final one is only a thumbnail. Alas!

Thanks to Susan and mayly for letting us know about these!

    Saturday, September 29, 2012 | 13:45 UTC | Posted by Beth | TV/Radio/Web

Tori also recorded a session for the Belgian television program De Kruitfabriek earlier this week that was broadcast on Friday night. During the show, she talks with the hostess (who gives her a nice bottle of burgundy wine!) and plays a handful of tunes solo at the piano: “Leather,” “Cloud on my Tongue” (the whole thing this time!), and a goosebump-inducing “Purple People.”

As some may recall, an additional song, “Silent All These Years,” was recorded and shared on the web earlier this week as a teaser for the full broadcast. That tune was not included in Friday’s broadcast.

Check out the complete session below. The individual songs, Leather, Cloud On My Tongue, and Purple People, are also available on De Kruitfabriek’s website as well.
