OK, so it’s not Tori’s birthday anymore, but her 44th earned her a couple of special mentions in different places in the past few days.
Tori earned a nod at Creators.com, which has a section on celebrity horoscopes. Their writeup said:
One-of-a-kind singer/songwriter Tori Amos is known for her rich, emotionally dramatic concerts. Leo’s drama can feel like a force of nature — getting caught up in the artist’s artistry makes for good theater. Lyrically, ambidextrous Amos’ Mercury in Virgo weaves autobiographical and socio-cultural remnants into fantastically delicious Tori tales.
Lisa said Minneapolis’ Cities 97 radio station (97.1 FM) featured Tori as its artist of the day today, including three of her songs played back-to-back. DJs wished Tori happy birthday a number of times throughout the day. Kelly also spotted US Weekly wishing Tori a happy 44th in the issue currently on newsstands.
Tori showed up in the BBC News Magazine Quiz of the Week. The final query of the 7 question quiz asked, “And finally, the birthday question – Shaun Ryder and Tori Amos celebrate birthdays this week, but which one has turned 45?” The answer is, of course, obvious and left as an exercise for the reader. Thanks to Elaine, Suzie and Charlie for that one.
And, finally, jeff heard Q101 deejay Electra, after playing “Cornflake Girl” and mentioning that it was Tori’s birthday, ‘fess up to Under The Pink being the first CD she bought. Awwwwwww!
