ok, so this was the 10th time i saw Tori perform live in Germany. Mostly in different venues in Hamburg. But this one tonight was just the most mindblowing show you can imagine. First, my best seats ever (2nd row mid-stage) and then a Tori in super-form. They absolutely rocked the house and i haven’r seen her being just quite as powerful and cheerful as she was btonight. At least not in the shows i have attended so far. Overall just ab-so-fucking-lutely incredible. I hope some fotos (great dress) and maybe even a recording will pop up soon somewhere.

It was a very energetic performance in Hamburg – I enjoyed every minute :-)
Tori was in good spirits and seemed to enjoy playing a lot, it was beautiful to watch.
Highlights (for me) were Siren, Butterfly and the end of Strong Black Vine (her voice sounded a bit like PJ Harvey to me). Bouncing of Clouds and Big Wheel were differently arranged than in 2007 and I liked them much better yesterday – BOC started with “I know you know – I know it´s not easy”-repetition before it turned into the known lyrics.

By the way: I don´t know who played before Tori – someone from Belfast – but he was actually very good!

I totally agree! This was the most powerful show I have seen since Plugged back in 1998 (is it really that long ago!?!?!)! Tori was enjoying herself so much, it was sheer delight to watch her and naturally listen to her. She said it was so great to be back in “Deutschland” and that she was happy to play in Hamburg on such a “glorious day”. I am not sure what she was referring to and she wouldn’t tell either. Maybe the weather (I saw a breathtakingly beautiful sunset while walking to the venue)? Or the result of the general election? I mean, Germany now has not only a female chancellor but also a vice-chancellor and soon-to-be minister of foreign affairs who is openly gay and has an official husband! Well, whatever she meant, she really meant it! The show was awesome!!! I had a great seat, 6th row, a little left of the centre and no big heads in front of me! And last but not least: I waited 11 years to hear “Little Earthquakes” live, it finally came true yesterday. Pics anybody?!?

    4. Maggie says:

This was my third Tori show, as I’ve been a fan for about 6 years, and not only did I have the luck to hug her and get her autograph at the meet’n‘greet, but I also thought the show was absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen Tori so happy and energetic, probably the best show I’ve seen so far. The setlist was just amazing, my personal favourites being Sweet Dreams, Butterfly and Northern Lad.

    5. Maciej says:

At first I was very happy about the venue. It wasn’t too big. I was in 7th row and it felt like I was sitting right before the stage. Then Tori was in amazing shape and in a great mood. She was smiling all the time. I absolutly loved the setlist. Tori had her freakout at the end of Strong Black Vine “Push that evil from you! Push it out like a motherfucker!!!” I was speachless. I had tears in my eyes during Little Earthquakes and was completely suprised when Butterfly appeard. It was so beautiful. Can’t wait to see her again!

    6. Anna says:

yes, this was very rocky gig. almost all songs played with the band had additional power and what is worth mentioning they re-arranged some songs and intros.

also i should mention that the place was fabulous. the sound there was amazing.i really enjoyed this concert and apparently tori did too. i was glad to see her happy. at the end, during precious things, the concert changed from sitting one to standing one. so we had ever more fun.

i was so happy to hear siren, well almost all tracks. what can i say: see ya again in warsaw, as im going there too.

btw: one of the stage crew guys, Andy, had a b-day that day.

    7. choirguy says:

The singer’s name is Foy Vance and he’s great! And a very fun person to be around with (he managed to lock himself out of the venue in Düsseldorf after the show was over).

Thanks to a very nice guy, I had the opportunity to take some pictures from the front row and they are on their way, along with some impressions from the Meet & Greet.

      As usual, Tori was lovely.

    8. cornflakey says:

Fantastic Setlist. Highlights for me were Spark, Starling, Little Earthquakes,Bliss and of course Butterfly, which brought me -and everyone around me – to tears.

I was also happy to hear Pancake with Ohio, always loved that combination, it gives the song so much fierceness.

While i´m still unsure what to make of her appearance and the visualettes – christmasalbums- fightthechurchandpatriarchy – contents that came from her lately, i have to say that Tori Amos, even after 10 years never ceases to blow me away with her music. And that is why i´m forever grateful for evenings like this one.
