Wow…what can I say, it was my 13’and 14’ time to see Tori in concert. (That’s spanning over 15 years). It was a much better setlist than the previous night in Belfast. Both venues in Belfast & Dublin are brand new and it was spectacular to see Tori play in such beautiful surroundings. Now to the show….Tori looked radient tonight wearing a green\turquoise dress, her voice was in top form all night, Tori commented how Ireland has been such a great inspiration to her when it comes to writing music! Some of my favourites like ‘Jupiptar’ and ‘Fairytale’ were my personal highlights…overall it was fantastic… Only wish I could follow her to South Africa!!

Thanks for the show last night in Dublin. Was absolutley superb. Acoustics in Grand Canal ideal for Tori – her intensity and dedication to her craft is inspirational.

Hadn’t seen Tori since she did an open air concert in Dublin a couple of years back, and I hadn’t had the opportunity to hear the new album. Myself and my two daughters are all big fans and we were not disappointed. The best word I can use is ‘mesmerising’. She was totally incredible; the new songs were just astonishing and the old ones just as fresh and vibrant. Piano playing was sublime and the string quartet was just wonderful. Acoustics in the Grand Canal Theatre are great so the sound quality lived up to the quality of the performance. What a wonderful and unforgettable night – thanks Tori!!

I was at the show and thought is was the best show apart from one i saw in Glasgow twenty years ago.
The venue and sound were brilliant as were the strings section.great song choice lots of oldies . great!!!!

A fabulous perfomance by Tori in Dublin. The arrangements for the older songs sat in so wonderfully with the new material (Cruel sounded incredible with the string quartet). Star Whisperer and Your Ghost were highlights from Night of Hunters. And Lovesong was simply beautiful. All in all a gorgeously diverse set performed – as always – peerlessly. Thank you Tori.

    6. Senan says:

Tori was back on form since last year where she performed in the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin. Her voice sounded so much better and healthier, and everything just seemed so much more “connected” and focussed.

The higher pitched songs such as Mr Zebra, Little Earthquakes and Yes, Anastacia were performed brilliantly and quite close to the album version which for a 48yr old singing songs she sang 20 years ago I was impressed! Although at the end of the night she did “voice-save” for Precious Things which did lack the punch of other performances.

As always the night went far too quickly and the songs off Night of Hunters were performed brilliantly with the amazing string quartet.

There was a solo piece by the string quartet called “A multitude of Shades” which was well received by the audience.

Tori spoke of her love of being back in the magical country that had provided such inspiration for her album, and talked about trying to fit the whole concert back on the bus, with wine from south Africa for the Catholics – she’s a minister’s daughter so she “get’s” the drill! And there’d be sparkling water for the methodists… (paraphrased -but along those lines)

Lastly there was a funny moment early on when she forgot the lines to Snow Cherries from France and played a nonsense song until she remembered!

Overall the best concert of hers I’ve been to so far (I was also in Dublin for AATS and Glasgow for SLG)

      Highlights of the night:

Maybe California – breathtakingly lush rendition
Cruel – experimental and the string quartet went mental!
Lovesong – great but what a dischordant note to end on Tori?

      Any criticisms?

I would have loved to have seen Yes Anastacia played with the string quarter!!
