Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
The Flemish newspaper De Morgen reviewed A Piano: The Collection. Thanks to tip_of.yourstar for finding and translating the review from the Dutch!
The folks at EverythingTori.com are putting together a giant outdoor mosaic composed of teeny-tiny photos of Toriphiles photographed with a Tori album cover (click the link for examples). Everyone who enters will be eligible to win a piano key signed by Tori, and there’s an option to enter the contest without sending a photo.
For now, we don’t know where and when the final mosaic will be shown. Hey, Mark and Melanie, kudos for the tip.
Brazilian singer, composer and violinist Badi Assad’s new album, “Wonderland,” includes a number of covers, including Tori’s “Black-Dove (January),” the Eurhythmics’ “Sweet Dreams,” and Asian Dub Foundation’s “1,000 Mirrors.” She doesn’t offer any samples of the Tori cover on her site, but you can head on over and learn more about her history and music. Jonathan, thanks for sending this in!
Fire up your computers, dear readers: As we previously announced, the entire 86-song collection included on A Piano is now available on iTunes. Now you’ll have something to listen to while you’re wrapping holiday gifts or roasting something delicious for your family.
“A Sorta Fairytale” will be included on L Tunes, a collection of songs featured during and inspired by the Showtime television series The L Word. The compilation includes “new and classic music from lesbian artists as well as ‘lesbian adjacent’ female artists”. (Hey! If I stand next to a lesbian, can I be lesbian-adjacent too?) Specifically, the other musicians featured are Kirsten Price, Goldfrapp, Fiona Apple, Prototypes, Johnny Boy, Pink, Kelis, Da Brat featuring Cherish, PJ Harvey, Nina Simone, The Cliks, Peaches, and BETTY. The record will be released on January 2, 2007 by Music With A Twist.
Read on for the full press release about the compilation.
Following up on our previous article about Leona Naess’s song “Ballerina”, here’s what we have (and haven’t) been able to sort out…
We know some people can’t resist a bit of good gossip, so we thought we’d mention that Courtney Love has been posting recently at the Moonwashed Rose blog, a site that tracks Courtney-related news and rumors. And some of those recent comments have (somewhat belligerently) addressed the rumor that she somehow “ruined” a romance between Tori and Trent Reznor.
You can see Courtney’s full-on “explanation” in this thread, but for those of you who can’t decipher the Courtneyglyphs, here’s a few key quotes, transcribed into plain English:
“I haven’t a clue about Trent and Tori’s relationship. Maybe she got mad when she discovered his dinkle was playing away games. I don’t know. I don’t know her. Not my problem or my business.”
She also offers a critique of Tori’s music:
“I know ‘Cornflake Girl’ and ‘Professional Widow’ (Is that supposed to be about me? I’ve never figured it out.) are supposed to be big classics but it doesn’t resonate … Kurt thought her ‘Teen Spirit’ was HYSTERCAL in a joke song sort of way but now I see it as rather sad, and I guess mournful, which was the point, we just thought it was really funny.”
Thanks to CC for the tip!
The annual 13-month calendar benefiting the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network is now for sale at the RAINN Web site.
