I came for the meet&greet around 12:30 and met some folks I see at russian shows. Love that part of “tori days”! Tori arrived around 14:00, went up to her dressing room and came back 10-15 minutes later.
There were about 80 people for m&g.
We were told that it’s gonna be either foto or signing.
When I had my turn for a picture Tori said “Hello my friend! Did you come from Kiev? It is so sad that promoter canceled the show, I would love to play for the people, you know.” That was touching.
I asked her about her label and she replied that she realized that she rather goes for her own creative output than lead a record label. Even though it is still somewhere on ice.
After m&g few of us went to a sushi-restaurant and had a great time.
I was back at the venue around 18:30 and met Melanie who was distributing the goodies and I had luck to be upgraded to a 1st row seat right in front of Tori!
This time it was my only show on tour and somehow everything felt more saturated.
It felt great to be amongst real fans – the whole row of them!
And then the concert started…
With first chords the sound of Tori’s piano hit me hard. I never felt the Böse that deep before – even though I am coming to each tour since 1998.
And her voice… On Pancake I was already crying my insides out ;) I did not make requests wanting to be hit by a surprise and I was – cool on your island! That was strong…
Oysters did their job – those high notes gave me goosebumps and I cried some more :)
But of course the highlight of the evening was “in your room” written by Martin Gore played by Tori for the first time ever. Next to me was a guy who asked her to play that tune for the last 3 tours and was he excited! And me too! The rhythm track that went on for the last part of “in your room” was the show’s hidden twist, it suddenly unfolded and widened. It continued with Cornflake Girl…
Greeting the audience Tori said that after m&g she felt how much love showered on her and the whole gig seemed especially full of love. When at the end she came to the edge of the stage to say goodbye it was love.
One of the most beautiful concerts I ever lived…
When Tori was gone and loudspeakers started to play Led Zeppelin again I went up to the mixing booth and thanked Mark and his assistant for the excellent sound. It looked like they liked to hear my compliments.
It was hard to say goodbye to all the torifolk…
But we for sure will meet again!

The concert was amazing. Smaller venue than the previous time but it made the atmosphere more close. Saint Petersburg shows of russian part of tour are aways very powerful
