I’ve been attending Tori Amos concerts since 1996’s Dew Drop Inn Tour. I’ve seen her in Seattle, LA, St. Louis, Orlando, DC but let me just say —Last night’s show was amazing! Her voice just keeps getting better and better and the great atmosphere & acoustics of the historic Fox theater in Detroit didn’t hurt either. My 13th Tori concert and my 1st time seeing her in my hometown, she was in prime form last night. I thought this was the best Tori concert I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control I missed the first two songs. I’d like to hear another review about what she said during Tori says Hello— Walking in to Tori singing “Sister Janet” gave me a chills. Her voice was enchanting, haunting, compelling, and beautiful. As soon as I heard her I was drawn right in. I know everyone says this but I felt like she was performing so many songs that were my favorites. Some I even forgot were my favorites, Tori reminded me with Carbon, Sister Janet, Scarlet’s walk, Smokey Joe, Bliss & Red Baron. And what about God and the Kate Bush Cover Running up the hill—her voice was supernatural. I literally was crying for most of the concert. Another great highlight was Upside Down. When she segwayed into the Diana Ross cover it was just perfect and just felt like a different version of Tori’s own Upside down. The great talking heads cover ‘and she was’….so fun! The audience really was amazing too, everyone was very respectful, no loud mouths or rude people. Everyone was really into it! So refreshing. I think Tori really appreciated that and she really seemed like she was really feeling the songs and the energy from the audience.
Old favorites like Little Earthquakes , crucify, & silent all these years made me realize why I was and still am a devoted toriphile after 18 years- she turned these old songs into something new like they were reborn again, it’s incredible. Was so great hearing these 3 songs played in the same concert.
This show was so great I’m thinking of trying to see her somewhere else maybe DC or Florida– she’s simply too amazing just to see once.

One of the best visits I’ve ever had with her and the Girls, to be certain.“And She Was” made up for in sheer fun what it lacked in perfection :) She was vibrant, playful and owning the stage completely…. Solo is always where she shines most brightly as an artist/alchemist, in my humble opinion. Closing things out with “Carry” really packed an emotional punch and then some, too… Way better than you would think with the electric keyboard. Overall, just really fantastic to see her so confident and shining so brightly 22 years in…. Cheers to another 20some years of Tori shows!! fingers crossed

This was my ninth Tori show. It was a pleasant surprise to arrive at the Fox Theater and find out my tickets had been upgraded from way back in the balcony to about 25 rows back on the main floor with no one sitting in front of me for two rows. These were probably the best seats I’ve had since Ann Arbor in 1996 and the acoustics at the Fox are fantastic.
She hit a lot of songs off my dream setlist for this show: Oysters, Smokey Joe, Sister Janet and the highlights for me – Carbon and Tubular Bells/God/RUTH.
I was surprised we got so much from Little Earthquakes. There have been versions of Crucify and Little Earthquakes over the years that I just haven’t liked. I wouldn’t have picked those songs if given a choice beforehand, but I’m really glad they came to this show. Every song sounded great. Tori was powerful, comfortable and having a great time performing.
I hope to see her back at the Fox in 2016 with Matt Chamberlain and Jon Evans promoting yet another new album.
