    1. Daniel Ting says:

Good setlist but I think there were a couple of technical problems during Juarez and Bouncing Off Clouds? I was a little unhappy about the sound overall and Tori was motioning to the engineers quite a bit during the show. The highlights was Strong Black Vine for me. Also on Precious Things, there were a bunch of time changes towards the end, which kept things very interesting. Flavor and Carbon were amazing.

    2. Michael says:

This was by far one of the best concerts I’ve been to in quite some time.

Her cover of Don McLean’s Vincent was very emotional and even brought me, and the girl sitting next to me, to tears.

Winter & Precious Things were absolutely amazing. It’s the best performance of both songs that I have ever seen.

    3. robbit says:

where to begin…tonight’s show was wonderful. tori had a great energy about her and the audience seemed very receptive.

agreeing with another fan from a recent show—she’s definitely missing Michael a lot. in the Lizard Lounge portion she mentioned that he never, ever missed a show in Austin. a fan yelled, “he’s with us!” and tori confirmed, “he IS here.” she then sang Vincent. just before that, the girl behind me handed me her binoculars and tori had a few tears during Winter. Lizard Lounge was certainly intimate tonight.

another highlight was Horses—GREAT stuff happening with that song on this tour.

Doughnut Song is a personal favorite and it was spectacular tonight.

Space Dog, as usual, was bomb. It got us all moving and sent a few chills down our spines.

a few technical difficulties during the encore but T and the guys moved on.

the new songs were great tonight—i think we could all tell as soon as she started Give that it was going to be a great show.

sending her some good energy tonight… thanks for such an amazing experience, tori.

    4. Lisa says:

Agree that the sound seemed a bit off, which was disappointing. Some audience behavior bummed me out as well. Not the most respectful Tori show I’ve ever been to, at least in my section. What’s going on Austin??? Vincint and Winter were amazing, Flavor was amazing==oh, if only I could have seen and heard better!!!

    5. Shane says:

The Austin show at the Long Center was my fourth time seeing Tori. Firstly, I must say that the Long Center itself is a beautiful venue. Tori was totally spot-on; full of energy and her voice sounded incredible. There was a lot of energy in the crowd and I think Tori fed off of that. She always gives particularly great shows in Texas and tonight was no exception! The setlist was diverse and there were a few surprises—namely “Bouncing Off Clouds,” “Juarez,” and “Starry Starry Night.” The little chat before “Starry Starry Night” was poignant and Tori seemed really emotional during Lizard Lounge; especially during “Winter.” My highlights of the show are “Bouncing Off Clouds,” “Horses,” “Flavor,” “Space Dog,” “Digital Ghost,” “Fast Horse,” “Precious Things,” “Strong Black Vine,” “Raspberry Swirl,” and “Juarez.” That’s about half the setlist, but the show really was that good—“Flavor” was chilling, “Fast Horse” was particularly powerful, and the final chorus of “Precious Things” was excruciatingly intense! The motherfucker flip-out in the middle of “Strong Black Vine” was incredible, too, and “Raspberry Swirl” is always fun! My boyfriend and I had a spectacular time at the Austin show! Thank you so much, Tori, for delivering another unforgettable concert!

P.S. There was a rowdy girl in a red shirt with glasses in the Mezzantine area that kept leaving and returning in the middle of songs and then having freak-outs and pretending to play the piano; not cool. Of course, the show was simply way too good for the occasional obnoxious fan to ruin it!

    6. Matt says:

Another excellent show!! This was my favorite of the tour so far because it was a really fun show and the audience got to stand and dance a lot… Definitely a great time had by all- an excellent setlist, tori in fun and energetic form, and the debuts of boc and juarez… Can’t wait to do more shows!

    7. Lynn says:

I was so happy that B finally got her Bouncing!

This show was my last stop, so it was bittersweet. There was great energy for the rocking girls and Winter and Starry Starry Night made for a very emotional Lizard Lounge. I have always wanted to hear Vincent live and the intro…

Don’t stay away too long Tori!

    8. hayley says:

This was the saddest show I’ve ever been to. I think I was in tears from Horses thru 1000 Oceans. Starry Night was phenomenal as was most of the show. Juarez was BAD ASS.

    9. Amanda says:

This show was the best Tori show I’ve been to thus far. I finally got excellent seats and being mere feet away from Tori was so exciting! There wasn’t a single song played that I wasn’t excited to hear, though I was ecstatic to hear Fast Horse, Juarez, and Strong Black Vine live.

The Lizard Lounge portion was particularly touching. When Tori told the story about her brother, I basically broke down and cried from Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) all the way through 1000 Oceans. It felt really special to have Tori share such a personal moment with us and I’ll never forget it.

However, while I loved the show and Tori’s performance, I did not love the rudeness exhibited by more than a few fans. It was beyond appalling. Some fans seem to think they’re more important than others and it’s ridiculous.

Rude fans aside, the show was amazing and I can’t wait to see Tori in concert again.

    10. Chris&Chauncey says:

One of the many great things about Tori is how well she understands her audience. For the Austin show, she recognized that many in attendance had been to the Dallas show the night before, and really seemed to go out of her way to change up the setlist. And what a wonderful way to do so!

Austin audiences tend to be more respectful than rowdy. While this means they don’t get quite as amped up during, say, Raspberry Swirl, it means that they will sit in COMPLETE SILENCE and listen to Winter. And THAT, dear friends, is exactly the way it is meant to be listened to. If that one didn’t bust you up emotionally (in the best possible way), her cover of Vincent certainly did. Amazing.

One note to the poor souls in the front row – it seems that, since the venue is designed for stage performances using orchestras, nobody at the (very new) Long Center has yet figured out that dangling the speakers at their current location means the sound completely escapes those sitting in the pit. We only noticed this during the stage rush. Looks like that’ll have to be feedback for Long Center management.

Apart from that, and the technical glitches during the two songs Daniel Ting mentioned, yet another INCREDIBLE show. Yay!

    11. Antboy says:

Amazing show! One of her best that I’ve ever seen.
      The tracklisting was perfect.
I live in Houston and love to visit Austin so it was a perfect night.
First, she was beautiful and definitely feeling the energy of the crowd.
the sound seemed off (drums weren’t very clear/loud) for the first two songs but after that, everything seemed to work. Didn’t really notice the issues during the encore.
Horses was a highlight for me as well. beautiful and electronic. Drums are amazing in this song. You can’t really make it out in the clip below but it was perfect.
Tori was definitely feeling Winter. There were several moments she began to cry and had to whisper the words out. The best version of this I have ever seen or heard. so powerful. and then leading into Vincent. She spoke of her brother and mentioned that it was one of his favorite songs. This was note perfect. Hopefully this was recorded because it should be released!
She did most songs I hoped for…Horses, Liquid Diamonds, Big Wheel, Digital Ghost and Fast Horse.
      Precious Things rocked!
the encore was a huge surprise for me.
I’ve never heard her do Raspberry Swirl or Juarez live! They worked well together.
and of course, ending the show with Big Wheel was

    12. kris says:

Wow. Tori rocked Texas! She mentioned that she “loves this state!” with a huge grin. She was very emotional when speaking of Michael and had to turn away from the mic for a moment. It was so touching to be there for the incredible tribute she played for him (Vincent, Starry Starry Night). I think most folks around me had misty eyes at that point.
Strong Black Vine is so INCREDIBLE live. She sings, “push that evil from you, push that Motherfucker..” and she was drooling all over the mic. Juarez was a wonderful surprise and it was the perfect night to debut it on the tour! Matt is OFF THE HOOK. Between Precious Things (which is extended and probably the most powerful I’ve ever heard), Strong Black Vine, Raspberry and Juarez, I don’t know how the guys arms are still intact.
It was so fabulous to see the amazing Trio again creating pure magic together! What a tour this is!!!!

    13. Casey says:

Well, it was another good night for Tori in Texas! First I’ve got to say thank you to everyone at the show. This was one of the best and most respectful crowds I’ve seen at a Tori show in a long, long time. Everybody seemed to actually be there for THE MUSIC (imagine that!) and you could, quite literally, hear a pin drop during “Winter” and “Vincent.” It was very nice.

She sounded great again; I thought her voice both here and in Dallas sounded really solid. “Bouncing off Clouds”, “Space Dog”, and “Juarez” are always fun live and they didn’t disappoint in Austin. And, while “Digital Ghost” would never be on my must-see list, I thought it was REALLY strong and enjoyed it a lot. But, like in Dallas, the highlight was the Lizard Lounge. Two powerful songs, two great performances, and some really touching words from Tori.

It was great to get to spend my weekend with everyone here in Texas. My only complaint? Only two shows in the state this time around! Oh, well.

    14. maple says:

      Wow!!
I’m still dreaming with this show. Tori was fabulous and I enjoyed every song. Even Cornflake girl was great!! I loooved the dancing, hehe.

Horses was beautiful and the lizard lounge part too. I was about to record Winter with my camera and I don’t know how one of the security guards saw it and said me “no”. WTF!??! Everyone was recording and taking pictures… So if ANYONE recorded it, please upload it. I’ll be very grateful. Anyway, I could enjoy the song pretty well and almost brought me to tears. It was beautiful what she said about her brother and the song Vincent was just lovely.
I loved Strong black vine. Didn’t think it was so good live. The encore was the best part of the show: Raspberry swirl, Juarez and then Big wheel, which I think it was much better than last tour.
It was a shame she didn’t do a M&G, but well, I’m so happy I got to see this show. Thank you, Tori!!!

    15. Anthony says:

This was my fourth concert since The Beekeeper Original Sin tour, and one of the best performances. Tori brought it last night in Dallas and completely erupted with luminous sonic energy. GREAT SETLIST!!!! She moves my soul like nothing else can!!! AWWW, after all the years she can sing me to nostalgic, dark tears, send me into a heated rage, inoculate me with a sensuous energy better than the best orgasm, and rock me out of my fucking mind!!! Give, Horses, Liquid Diamonds, Strong Black Vine was extremely explicit and great tonight. Doughnut Song was the best I HAVE EVER HEARD tonight especially when she sand “don’t let yourself die.. just die”

AHHH if ANYONE HAS A DOUGHNUT SONG VID POST IT PLEASE ON YOUTUBE!!!!!

    16. katherine(meadowgirl) says:

the Long Center is a gorgeous venue. wow. every seat is a GREAT seat! i was impressed.

for me, hearing Vincent was the most magical moment. my mom wasn’t a Tori fan but Vincent was her very favorite song. i cried because the last time i saw Tori was at the Backyard in Austin in March 2003, about 6 months after my mom died.

she never fails, she never disappoints. Flavor was amazing and so was Carbon. they were the two i was hoping for the most.

i live about 3 1/2 hours south of Austin and Tori was worth the drive from Corpus Christi!!!

    17. Hope says:

Tori really shines in Austin. I love the city and how it brings out the best in everyone. The Long Center was an amazing venue. I couldn’t see Matt at all from my seat (same for Dallas) so the sight lines from the far left and right need to be considered when placing the drum kit and Jon’s rig. I want to see the guys play too. Other than the sight line issue, pure magic!

Side note: I have to call out some audience members in Texas. You don’t need to get loaded to enjoy a Tori concert. I’m talking to you, Dallas. Some folks can’t hold their liquor and they don’t act right. This was especially evident in Dallas with the one twink boi screaming “I love you Myra!” in the middle of a song. The only people who have the right to call her that are the ones who signed her birth certificate and even they have enough respect to refer to her as Tori, the name by which she wishes to be addressed. Austin was more polite, I didn’t hear any “Myra” at this show. Thank you, Austin. Keep smoking yourselves into that mellow complacency that we all know and love.
