One of the most amazing Tori show I’ve been to. The best that I’ve seen this tour (my third and last).

Tori came out dressed all in white. The first part of the set was melancholic and really beautiful. Since Here. In My Head I knew it’s gonna be a special night. First surprise was Beauty Queen – I thought she’s not doing it this tour as the intro to Horses. But she did it and I loved it. All of the songs of the first set were pure bliss. I even enjoyed Maybe California very much. She was so much into it. As well as into Fairytale.

During Lizard Loung she screwed up lyrics in Famous Blue Raincoat, did a funny improv how she can’t say fuck no more during shows in Russia and then started the song again.

Then she talked a little about the upcoming pride in Warsaw and about the rainbow arch that’s been burnt a couple of times by homophobic thugs. She added that we have to hold on to our inner rainbows and not take these homophobic acts under our skins (something along the lines – I’m still waiting for the recording to remind myself exactly).

About the rainbow arch on wiki:

Then she played Nights In White Satin and got a standig ovation afterwards.

Second part was very energetic (well after Graveyard) and in my opinion overshadowed by the story of homophopbia and pride in Poland. I loved all of it, can’t even pick favourites!

The biggest surprise came during the encore. When backing track to Riot Poof started, I was sure it was The Tide is High, but when she started singing “break the terror of the urban spell” the crowd went wild! And in the end we got Pretty Good Year, the best closing song.

The show was not only the best Tori Amos concert that I’ve been to (and it was my 6th show) but one of the best evenings of my life.
The setlist was a pure perfection, most of the songs could be a part of some great show from ’99. There were three tour premieres – a little “Beauty Queen” (very beautiful version) and “Nights in White Satin” (really haunting and strong) and completely rearranged “Riot Poof” (my little request).
After three days in a row of playing in three European countries, from Linz, through Stuttgurt to Prague, she gave a powerhouse performance. And it wasn’t just a bunch of great songs, it aactually meant something as it was devoted to the gay community.
