This was the most incredible setting for a Tori Amos show ever. The peacocks were walking around and then she came out in a dress with peacock feathers all over it. She sang Girl as I predicted because of the Castles Burning in my heart line. Let me also say it was FREEZING COLD! Tori herself looked very cold and uncomfortable for the 1st song which was Beauty of Speed!

Oysters was slower than I remember her playing it last tour and the keys were very pronounced. She played the flute part on the keyboard during Mrs. Jesus which was a nice touch. I feel love was a nice touch. I loved hearing Forest of Glass and teared up a bit.

The Cruel mashup was very chill. But Bouncing Off Clouds was a highlight for me. She sang it like I've never heard before and kept singing the chorus over and over. Very powerful! Great show! Met the family that lives in the castle. They were very nice and the opening band Broken Twin is worth checking out! An amazing band that sounds reminiscent of the XX’s. All in all it was worth the trek to the middle of nowhere in Funan for this epic show!

A perfect day from beginning to end. After a lovely meet and greet, we listened to soundcheck (Bliss, Oysters, Code Red, Mother Revolution, Beauty of Speed, Spark, Mrs Jesus)

The show started when Tori pulled up to the side of the stage in a Mercedes, got out, waved at us then took to the stage. It was daylight for the majority of the show.

Beauty of Speed – Really good opener and nice light show in the background.

Tubular Bells/God/RUTH – Very intense and different to it has been before. Lots of key changes throughout and vigorous piano playing.

Spark & Liquid Diamonds – Both very gool using both keys and piano.

Oysters was very slow and she was paying lots of attention to the piano.

Mrs Jesus – As 2011. She seemed to have a lot of fun with this and it was a nice rarity to see live.

Cooling – Complete song. She nailed the hight notes at the end.

Carry – I was really excited to hear this after hearing soundcheck. She was quite obviously unsure of a lot of the words on this one which slowed it down a bit. Done on keys and piano.

Girl – Very intense bridge. She was hammering the piano.

Silent All These Years – Very restrained. She sang it as though telling us a story and it was lovely.

Mother Revolution – My request. It was off the hook. She played the piano through the Leslie organ speaker to give it an eerie/creepy feel and she pounded the piano keys during the chorus/instrumental breaks. For the final chorus, she repeated “Another mother of another of a mother of …etc” again and again.” Incredibly intense and got a standing ovation.

I Feel Love/AATS – Surreal. Techno drum beat and Tori playing the bassline on the piano. Very bizarre. Many stage-rushed here, not realising that we were only midway through the show. I felt a bit sorry for those at the back who then couldn’t see.

Code Red – Youtube does not do this justice. It needs to be seen and heard through the stage speakers. Really good.

Forest of Glass – Wow … Wow … Nailed the high notes. She was looking around at the forest behind us when singing the chorus. She drew it out and repeated the chorus a few times. A highlight.

Your Cloud – Tori said that she had always wanted to perform this surrounded by people stood close to her. It was lovely. Played on the keys and piano. She forgot the words at one point and yelled “Fuck!!”

Cloud on my Tongue – Not a favourite, but she added eerie synth sounds to the “circles and circles” part which added new life.

Bouncing off Clouds – Amazing. The bridge was off the hook. She was pounding the keys, shaking her head, bouncing, there was spit flying everywhere. Really intense and really impressive.

      Cornflake Girl – As always

Cruel mashup – Another that needs to be seen live to be believed. If only for her left hand synth work. Reminded me of Bjork’s “Army of Me”. The Unrepentant Geraldine’s part was very strong.

Purple People – All on keys. Very slow. She annunciated every word very well and it was a moving performance.

1,000 Oceans – Bittersweet. Very slow, very sad. Played on keys and piano. then she was gone.

All in all, one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. Incredible.

I want to add that when Tori spoke to the crowd she told everyone she came to the Sealand and that she didn’t really knew it existed until today. She explained that a character from The Light Princess was from there and now she knew it was real :)
