New Undented Fun Tomorrow

So are we all climbing the walls with boredom yet? Never fear, we still have lots of site areas in development and will do our level best to come up with stuff to keep you entertained.

A new silly bit of fun will debut in the You section tomorrow (December 19th): Tori Turned Me Stupid.

I’ll aim to have it up live around 2pm my time (give or take in the event that I get waylaid by something unexpected), so you’ll just have to check back then to see what it is.

A Gentle Note About Ungentle Comments

As anyone who has been following the concert reviews here knows, there’s always been a certain level of sniping at audience members of all stripes: from complaining that the crowd was too sedate to decrying the over-enthusiastic dancing guy who distracted your view and everything in between. However, over the last week or two, tensions have been turned up a notch — or five — and reached the boiling point, particularly with respect to the fans who always seem to end up in the front row.

So, to be clear: when reviewing concerts for Undented, it’s perfectly acceptable to note audience behavior which impacts one’s experience of that show. However, when that is the central or only theme of a review or when the tone of a review is hateful and spiteful, it’s just not going to get posted anymore. Adding more fuel to the sufficiently burning fire is no longer productive and, to be honest, wading through the vitriol is taking a toll on us. Yes, we did let though some comments over the past week which would no longer pass muster. What’s done can’t be undone though and, however ugly, they do summarize the experiences that some folks have had at these shows.

Maybe we should have addressed this a while ago … but at least we got to it before the last night of the tour!

New Site Section: YOU!

Well finally! A new site section!

The You section is devoted to all things Toriphile. Okay, so maybe not all things just yet, but it will be when we get more stuff up.

But for now … ta-da! This is a start. We have the T+T Gallery up and running, and the Links page (now “Sites For Fans”) has been moved there as well (“Links” was living in our toplinks bar temporarily until we had the You section ready to open).

There’s even another little surprise area over there for you as well. You’ll just have to go visit to see what it is.

As with all of our sections, you can get to the You section at any time by clicking on “You” in our toplinks bar. Areas within the section are in the left column (mostly … the Sites For Fans page shows categories in that spot and probably always will).

We’ve heard the gossip, grumbling and complaints. Yeah, you know: Hey Undented, I served with the Dent: I knew the Dent; Mikewhy is a friend of mine. Undented, you’re no Dent! Well, here is your chance to express your displeasure with our performance by NOT voting for Undented in the “Best Unofficial Music Site” category of the BT Digital Music Awards 07! It’s easy. Really! Just don’t click this link or fill out the form at the page you won’t find there. You’ve even been given a head start since voting ends on Sunday and we were just nominated yesterday!

P.S. If you do want to vote for us, it’s okay: we won’t tell.

Tour Section Updated

Holy-mackaroly, this has been the longest day of what was left of my life, but I’ve finally finished updating the Tour section with every last little teensy scrap of info we have.

If any of you feel like playing Tori Cop (it’s fun!), check your local listing to make sure all the URLs work and the time zone converter links are showing the correct on-sale dates/times, etc. If you see any boo-boos, let us know right away and we’ll get ‘em fixed ASAP. (Well, after a few drinks and a nap, anyway. I was supposed to put on my Wonder Woman suit and go out and fight crime tonight, but I’m am so jumping up and down at the thought of climbing under my favorite fluffy blankie right now, so I will.)

Oh, before I fly off to sleep … Ticketmaster unexpectedly turned off the shipping address option for purchases last week (since tickets aren’t actually going to be shipped). If you’re having someone else purchase tickets for you on their credit card, we’ve been told by management that Ticketmaster should (_should_) be giving you an option to list the email address of the person who will be picking the tickets up. So make sure whoever orders for you has your email address and lists it there. Tori’s peeps will NOT leave any fans who’ve made legitimate purchases out in the cold. They’ve got your backs, and they have a plan, so scalpers … don’t eeeeeeeven think about it (and don’t even think about buying from one), else you’ll be farked up the wazoo! And with that image dancing in your heads, off I go….

A-Touring We Will Go...

The first show is tonight, so I wanted to explain how we’re going to handle concert details here on the site. (C’mon, you didn’t think we were going to leave that out, did you???)

As each show is in progress, the links in the Details column on the Tour page — the ones that have shown on-sale status so far — will automagically morph into links that say “flashback”. When you click on a “flashback” link, you’ll be taken to a page where you can both submit and read details about the concerts (setlists, photos, info, thoughts, etc.; M&G information and stories are also encouraged).

So wheeeee … let’s get this show on the road! We can’t wait to find out which doll is going to kick the tour off.

New Undented Site Section: Tour

We’ve been preparing for this day for months, and here it is. Concrete news about the new album! We spent a feverish weekend here at Undented making sure we had everything in place for today.

We promised that we would be rolling out more sections of the site as time went on, and today we are finally able to announce our Tour section. I’m sure there will be folks who don’t think much of it, but let me assure you a LOT of sweat and sleepless nights went into that.

There are some things we still need to add and are working to get them done as quickly as possible. If you see that we’re missing needed info for a particular show — ticket URLs, venue URLs, seating charts, maps, etc. — please send it to us and we’ll make sure it’s added to the individual concert detail pages.

Honey, They Leaked The Kids!

Yes, we know: stuff is getting out there, you naughty little donkeys.

However, as a news site dedicated to bringing fans reliable information while not infringing upon artist rights, it is Undented’s policy not to post links to sources that we know to be offering unauthorized downloads or streams of Tori’s official recordings.

So while we do still want to be informed about these things, if we can determine that a source is unauthorized, we will not report on it out of respect for Tori and her work.

Future Plans

We want to thank you all so much for the kind words you’ve been sending our way. It has been an intensely nerve-wracking last few weeks, trying to get this site off the ground in such a short period of time.
