Because of technical issues, the muvee page at everythingtori.com has been put on hold for a bit. We’ll let you know when it’s back up and running.
Beth Winegarner — journalist, author, and one of Undented’s very own managing editors — has just released a book that will be of interest to music lovers in general and Toriphiles in particular. Titled Read The Music: Essays On Sound (a tip o’ the hat to Kate Bush, that), the first two essays focus entirely on Tori’s music, with threads of her influence continuing to be woven through several essays that follow.

You can also get to the reviews from our A Piano info page (which is helpfully linked in the right column … bonus points if you already knew that was there).

Toriphile Matthew Richards wrote an article for the New Jersey-based Home News Tribune’s Teen Scene section called 25 Most Influential Albums, featuring Tori’s Boys for Pele at No. 24. She’s in pretty good company: the list includes Tapestry by Carole King, Ladies of the Canyon by Joni Mitchell, Nevermind by Nirvana, and Thriller by Michael Jackson.
Of Boys for Pele, Matt writes:
One of the most notable CDs in my list is Tori Amos’ “Boys For Pele.” I am obsessed with Tori, so picking only one CD by her was certainly the most difficult part of this undertaking. I decided on “Boys For Pele” because it is her most complex, intricate work, with beautifully woven songs around the concept of a breakup.
Thanks for letting us know about the article, Matt!
