WOW! Just got home and am still totally buzzing. The show was incredible. I saw Santa open in Melbourne so I was a tiny bit disappointed to see that Santa was opening again tonight (as I am only seeing 2 shows) but Santa sang Sugar and My Posse Can Do which was a change from Hamer Hall. Santa was hot and she rocked.

The show just got better and better from there.

In no particular order, Crucify was amazing, Cooling was mesmerising and differed slightly from other versions I have heard before. Honey was a definite highlight (especially the growly voice part in the middle), Digital Ghost came to life for me as a live song, Hotel blew my mind, I couldn’t believe I was hearing it live!!!

The ‘homospirituality’ improv was a complete and beautiful song and not really an improv as such, but the lyrics were amazing the audience loved it!!! It was about Tash asking “mummy, what is love?” and “what is a homo” and Tori answering her daughter about how not to let people’s thoughts and narrow-mindedness get under your skin. There was also a verse about Tash asking “would you still love me if i was a homo?” It was such an amazing song and I can only hope that she releases it on an official bootleg or something!!!! It was a huge highlight of the night for me.

A Sorta Fairytale and Bouncing Off Clouds were perfect as encore songs.

I am a very happy boy and wish I was heading off to Sydney for Monday’s concert.

      Thanks Tori :)

At the M&G, I went up to her and I was smiling sooo much and she said, “Sweetheart, look at you, you’re beaming!” and gave me a big hug. I said, “I was at the Adelaide show with my friends, but I was trying not to cry the whole time. So what I wanted to say is [not exact words but this is the gist] – I was working with someone, and he wanted a relationship with me. He wouldn’t take no for an answer.” [I am looking at her the whole time, total eye contact here and she is nodding] “I didn’t say anything for a long time, I didn’t know what to do, but eventually I filed a complaint.” And immediately she goes, “You are so brave. You are so brave. You know, society doesn’t understand, people don’t know how that behavior, that stalking behavior, terrorizes you.”

I am nodding back to her, and I said, “I made the decision myself, but I wanted to tell you how much the songs helped me. I tried going to counselors, I tried talking to my friends, but the songs helped the most.” She looked like SHE was going to cry here, OMG. Then she signed the “Silent All These Years” single for me and wrote, For *******, my heroine. (heart) Tori Amos At first she going to write hero, but she changed it. Then I babbled for a bit about how wonderful the Adelaide show was, and thanked her for Me And A Gun and Cooling and also for playing Twinkle in Sydney. I touched her arm when I said that and said “that helped a lot.” OMG! Then I handed her the flowers and she thanked me with a smile, and that was it. Yay!

I am SO HAPPY that I got to say all of that. AND I got another SATY single signed for a friend! Now I am going to get ready for the show. All of the EWF there were so nice, and a guy took several pics of me hugging Tori and he is going to e-mail them to me. SO. HAPPY. and so proud of myself for not crying like a fool.

As for the show, it was unbelievable. She looked SO happy, especially during My Posse Can Do. Commented along the lines of “We just love it here, we’ve decided to stay!” If only.

Crucify was wonderful. I know some people will complain, but I loved it. General Joy and Honey were awesome too. The improv… oh my god. I can’t remember the exact lyrics, but it started because Tash asked her about homosexuality. Hopefully someone wrote it down because it was so beautiful. Silent All These Years was wonderful too – I asked her to sign my SATY single and talked to her today, I am so happy that she played it.

Then Cooling. winterspark and I wrote her a card on Thursday thanking her for coming to Australia. We printed out the lyrics and pasted them into the card and said that it would mean so much to us if she would play it. Well, she started it with a beautiful improv (just melody, no lyrics), then stopped and adjusted something on her piano and my heart dropped, because it looked like lyrics. Oh my god. She played the first verse then paused and started singing,

“but do i hate what she is
or do i want to be her
and don’t we love something fresh
      anything new, virgin

woman, you got too many brambles
      hiding under these bushes
woman, you got too many brambles
but i always liked a good storm
      always good for a storm”

I sobbed and sobbed without stopping throughout the whole verse. It was absolutely gorgeous. I have no words to describe it. I am so, so grateful to her for playing it.

Digital Ghost, Hotel and Code Red were so fantastic. She was totally on, and the crowd adored her. Lots and LOTS of smiles at the end, she went to both sides of the stage and blew kisses and held out her hands. Lots of smiles at Jon during Hey Jupiter and she high-fived him as they went off stage for the last time. Just incredible.

    3. Arianoh says:

Stunning, absolutely stunning! So many songs I would once never have dared hope would visit me in my adopted city, and yet here they were!

Such an amazing show. Tori seemed to be positively bubbling with energy. And it was lovely seeing Tori perform with her band, which is in contrast to her previous (solo) tour here.

      Simply outstanding :-)

    4. ametheyst says:

Loved it! A lot more selection of songs than the last time I saw her a few years ago. And the fact she played ‘Cooling’ was beautiful! And she had her “boys” with her! Was a very cool night indeed :)

    5. Chris says:

My Sister and I flew down from Townsville just to see Tori for an overnight stay. And my the Lady did not disappoint. She was animated and dare i say that she was buzzing of the vibe the audience was putting out by the megawatt. Thanks Tori from my sister and I for a flawless show.

Would also like to say the warm up act was amazing. Everything about him and his songs were sweet.

    6. Roy Boy says:

I have cooling here if anyone is interested :) But I can’t believe she hasn’t done it with the bridge for 9 years! It just makes it all the more special :)

[Thanks for the video! I've put it in the Video section right below the setlist!]

Apart from that, I have to say the SATY was the other stellar point of the show…she had everyone’s complete attention, no shouting out, it was sublime :)

I couldn’t have come up with a better more well rounded setlist, it was the best night :D

    7. Bri says:

Honestly amazing. She seemed to be in such a great mood, her voice was so perfect, and she’s so sexy as Santa. I even enjoyed General Joy, which I’m not a big fan of, and Dragon, which really bugs me on the album. Highlights for me were Body and Soul, Sugar, Big Wheel, Honey, Digital Ghost, Hotel, Precious Things, and Hey Jupiter, and of course Cooling. It was absolutely beautiful.

    8. beetlejuice84 says:

This show was unreal. The energy of the audience was turned up high, and you could tell Tori was feeding off it and thoroughly enjoying herself. I was a little worried what the convention centre would sound like, but Santa, Tori and the boys did not disappoint!

Santa was sexy as tonight and did My Posse Can Do! Tori said something briefly along the lines of we love it here and want to stay, nope, we’re not going anywhere.

The highlight for me was General Joy. Similar to Parasol, I can’t get over how well the organ sounds with the band. I love the solo OS tour stuff, but the organ goes off with the band behind it.

The improv started off with Tash having asked “what if I turned out to be homo” or something like that. Tori would be a loving and understanding mother (of course!) And sang something along the lines of how to not let people’s narrow-mindedness get under your skin. It was hilarious in some parts as she sang homo…spirituality, kind of drawing out the two syllables in homo in a playful way. I really hope this turns up on one of the official boots/DVD. Cooling was amazing with the Brambles bridge, and I’m trying to remember where/on what I’ve heard it before…

No surprises in the encores, but at the start of the second Tori had huge grins on her face and walked from one end of the stage to the other blowing kisses and waving. Jupiter, as always a beautiful closer.

    9. Chris says:

Oh, too much to put into words – my favourite of the 3 shows I’ve seen on this tour. “Hotel” blew my mind and the song I’ve waited so many years to hear live – “Cooling”

    10. Holly says:

Unbelievable – simply, the BEST concert I have ever been to. The band absolutely rocked – I saw Tori in Sydney in '05 to my absolute delight, and this was even better!

It was my birthday (great birthday present!) and the seats were unfortunately terrible… but just as the show started, an usher came toward where I was sitting and signaled for two of us to go and sit down in the front! So in the end, I sat right in the second row – amazing!!! A perfect and completely unexpected birthday present.

I couldn’t wipe the huge, huge, huge smile off my face or take my eyes off Tori for the entire night – I was absolutely buzzing. She was so entertaining, and it was really obvious that she was having a blast. When Tori was doing her heart thing at the end (hands to heart and then out to the audience), she was jumping up and down and beaming.

I absolutely died for every song she played and love the sound of all the ADP fodder live!! Dragon – AGH! And I LOVED the brambles bridge… I looked at my friend and she (who doesn’t even like tori that much, but knows that line) mouthed with me ‘don’t we love something fresh’. Beautiful.

I went with three girls who were there more for me than Tori, but at the end they said she was absolutely amazing, stunning, incredibly talented, and they were more than entertained. The air positively vibrated with her sound and her energy.

All I feel is total gratitude and happiness – Tori can’t help but come through with the goods. She’s just perfect.

    11. Paul says:

This was my only show of the tour – and I had been anticipating it for so long – I had countless dreams of which doll it would be, and when Santa slinked out, I knew we were up for a big night. The actual character of Santa really, really came to life on stage, and Tori/Santa was seriously lapping up the energy propelled back from the crowd. I will never forget the first chords of Body And Soul and seeing Santa put one leg out from behind the stage curtain. It was unbelievable.

Then, what confirmed this would be a very special show was the second song, Sugar. I have always wanted to hear this song live, and hearing as Santa really brought out the desperate sexiness of the song. Secret Spell is nice live, much better than the recorded version, which I’m a little non-plussed about, but My Posse Can Do and You Can Bring Your Dog were absolutely superb.

It was great to hear Crucify and Cornflake Girl – like classic Tori songs – live. Considering I’ve been a fan since 94 and this is only my second show, it was good to hear the songs that woke me up to Tori played with the band. Honey and General Joy were big surprises, and whilst not being a major fan of Beekeeper, GJ certainly rocked, and looking back now, was a great addition into the set.

SATY and Cooling – two heavily involving songs for a solo – what better. And the improv was completely fitting and a bit special…particularly after the meet and greet and what I told Tori.

So yeah I met Tori, and I, as most fans, get a bit carried away and ask for some songs, and all three were played! My biggest request, if she was ready to come out again, was a sorta fairytale, to which Tori responded, ‘it’s your thing’...ooooh! And there it was!!!!! It was such a great set – Digital Ghost and Code Red take on such an expansion when live – real surprising highlights!

Hotel, Bliss, Bouncing Off Clouds —AGH! This was such a perfect setlist. This was the one show I got to see, and I feel so privileged to have heard the above set, and to have met the beautiful (and tiny!) Tori. I’ll never ever forget this day/night.

    12. Lei-Lani says:

TORI WAS AMAZING! Her shows take you on such an emotional rollercoaster that leaves you wanting more .. more more..

I was in Melbourne and got Santa, was hoping for some Pip energy but Very Happy with Sexy Santa indeed!

Went to the M&G in the afternoon and met Tori, Met her in Melbourne before this one, but she looked extremely Beautiful at this M&G.. natural and georgeous! Loved Body & Soul, Secret Spell was FANTASTIC. You Can Bring your Dog, Posse Can Do. Had me rocking along the whole time!!! SATY & Cooling at the solo was amazing…

LOVED HER IMPROV on Homo Spirituality, about Tash asking her would you still love me if I was a Homo? Just so cute … and funny … I nearly DIED when she played Digital Ghost (had tears in my eyes, one of my fav songs on ADP), again gasped when we got HOTEL & BLISS ... ABSOLUTELY WOW WOW WOW ... agh was on MASSIVE HIGH THEN. Bouncing off Clouds is just so amazing live, the sound is so full & incredible. Honey , General Joy.. WHAT A TREAT ;) ... Fairytale… What a setlist, amazing.

I loved this show, will never forget this night, as long as I live … THANK YOU TORI ...
