    Sunday, May 29, 2011 | 22:59 UTC | Posted by woj | RAINN

Earlier this week, pro wrestler and RAINN advocate Mick Foley was featured on ABC World News Tonight. The piece mentions Tori as being his inspiration to start volunteering for RAINN but the meat of the feature is all about Mick, the work he is doing for RAINN and the smashing success of his #10forRAINN campaign which has raised over $120,000 for the non-profit!

Congratulations to Mick and RAINN and thanks to everyone who donated and supported them over the past two months!

    Thursday, April 07, 2011 | 01:12 UTC | Posted by woj | RAINN

Tori has twittered her support for Mick Foley’s #10forRAINN campaign to raise funds for RAINN. To encourage people to give, Mick’s lined up a number of incentives, included autographed photographs, a phone call or even a visit from Mick himself. The campaign has a goal of raising $10,000 for RAINN by the end of April.

Check out this clip of Mick talking about the campaign below and, if you can help out, please do!

Thanks to Gary for the tip!

Celebrate RAINN With(out) Tori In Washington

    Wednesday, November 03, 2010 | 04:10 UTC | Posted by woj | RAINN

Update: We’ve received clarification from Tori’s management that she will not be in attendance at this event. Tori is sponsoring it but will not be there. Still, it’s a worthy cause to support so attend if you can and donate if you can’t!

RAINN is celebrating the progress they’ve made fighting sexual assault and supporting victims of sexual assault with a fund-raising event in Washington DC on November 18th. Actress KaDee Strickland and pro wrestler Mick Foley will be the special guests in attendance. If you would like to join them, purchase tickets, or just make a donation to support the organization, at RAINN’s website.

Thanks to Alex F. and @ToriFan247 for pointing this in our direction!

As you may know if you read our Twitter, RAINN, the United States’ largest anti-sexual assault organization, is one of many organization vying for funding from the Pepsi Refresh Project.

RAINN is in the running to win $250,000 in grant funding to help expand their online hotline to serve Spanish-speaking victims of sexual abuse and you can help them reach that goal by voting for their idea at Pepsi Represh.

Mick Foley Teams Up With RAINN

    Tuesday, February 02, 2010 | 06:00 UTC | Posted by woj | RAINN

Pro wrestler Mick Foley has teamed up with RAINN to combat sexual violence. While visiting RAINN’s offices last December, he and his wife Colette announced that they would be donating half of the advance royalties from his upcoming memoir, “Countdown to Lockdown,” to RAINN. The other half, as he revealed on his blog will be going to help victims of sexual violence in Sierra Leone. Additionally, Mick has joined RAINN’s National Leadership Council and is training to be Online Hotline volunteer.

Lest you think this has nothing to do with Tori, Mick addresses the origins of his friendship with her in the memoir (that’s Mick and Colette in the photograph with Tori lifted from RAINN’s site), slated to be published in the Fall of 2010.

Thanks to Alex F, Gary and toritattoo for the tip!

Open Auditions For "The Vagina Monologues" In Connecticut

    Saturday, December 05, 2009 | 08:24 UTC | Posted by Violet | RAINN

Temple Symonds is producing a performance of The Vagina Monologues in February 2010 in Glastonbury, CT, to benefit RAINN. Auditions are being held Sunday, December 6th, 2009.

    Until the Violence Stops

When Temple Symonds was 21, she didn’t know that being forced to the ground and screamed at was abuse. “I knew it wasn’t normal behavior, but I didn’t call it abuse. I just knew I had to get out of there.”

Inspired by her twelve-year journey to understand the impact of abuse on her life, the yoga instructor is producing The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler at Sacred Rivers Yoga in Glastonbury, CT on February 13, 2010. The play is renowned for it’s inspirational impact in the fight against violence against women.

Symonds sees producing the play as an opportunity to help take the shame out of being abused. “By owning our experiences,” she said, “we can move past them and transform them into strong foundations for growth.”

Open auditions for sixteen female readers will be on Sunday December 6th, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Sacred Rivers Yoga. Auditions will consist of reading from the script and group exercises. Additionally, there are opportunities for men and women to volunteer behind-the-scenes for this fundraiser for RAINN (Rape and Incest National Network). For further information, contact Temple Symonds.
