Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
When you’re a grownup, as you know, sometimes you get stuck and trapped in thinking like a grownup all the time and following grownup rules. We have to be responsible and disciplined. Even when you’re an artist, you do work within rules, a structure. So, Tash sometimes shows me another way of building structure, just in her stories and playtime.
Tori was interviewed by Katherine Hoffert for the pop culture website Popdose. The lengthy piece covers everything from the inspiration and evolution of the new album, Abnormally Attracted to Sin, to photographer Karen Collins to touring with an 8-year-old daughter on the bus. Tori also drops the tidbit that the song “That Guy” might be included in “The Light Princess” musical (apparently, she also mentioned this in an interview on KPRI in San Diego, though we haven’t been able to track down details of that appearance).
The onstage adrenaline drug is so desirable. A lot of performers, when they walk off (the stage), they don’t let that go. But you have to, because if you don’t, it will destroy you. You can’t contain that energy every day, 24 hours a day. The only way to get that adrenaline is being on stage. You have to hand it back to the muses and step back into human form again.
From last Friday’s edition of the Deseret News comes this interview previewing Monday’s show in Salt Lake City. Tori and writer Pat Reavy chat about touring and performing and concludes with a special shout-out to the PS22 chorus directed by friend-of-the-site Mr B!
Like all good newspapers, the Arizona Republic not only previewed last night’s show at the Dodge, they also reviewed it as well. Specifically, Serene Dominic did and declared it “a flawless performance” and also gave open One eskimO a thumbs-up as well.
I think there are certain songs that give people that magic mushroom moment. I think “Precious Things” is one of those songs. People like it to be there. And if it’s not somewhere in the show, they walk away and really miss that moment. And the reason is your whole body is moving with those pounding drums and you walk away feeling as if you’ve had this hallucinogenic trip – without doing something that gets you arrested, hopefully!
This short but sweet interview appeared in the July 14th edition of the Arizona Republic. In it, as you might expect for an article promoting the then-upcoming show at the Dodge, they primarily discuss touring and performing live but the conversation also turned towards Christian Lamb’s visuallettes as well.
Thanks to sajrocks for the link!
Where’s the balance between the puritanical and cheap, guttural trash? There is a balance, and I’m trying to find it. For myself.
This brief article by Tom Lanham previewing the concerts in Oakland and San Jose appeared in the July 9th edition of the San Francisco Examiner.
All of them are stupid, because they’re not recognizing that it’s a double-album form. And if you don’t like the double-album form, then you shouldn’t be reviewing a double album. Then just shut your … mouth.
Prior to this week’s show at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, this interview appeared in the San Jose Mercury News. In it, Tori discusses touring with Tash in tow, iPods, and the new record and has the excepted stern words for those who don’t like double-albums.
Jonathan Zwickel reviewed the first night of the Sinful Attraction tour for SPIN Magazine, giving the show a pretty favorable tilt. The review also features some lovely photographs by Alex Crick who posted several shots from the publicity shoot that took place prior to the show on Flickr — definitely worth checking out!
Tonight’s show at the Dodge in Phoenix is over and, while a bit on the short side, it sounds like the performance was as hot as the desert today! Tori had more than a few surprises for those in attendance — “Home on the Range,” “Glory of the 80s,” and “Gold Dust” — and brought out few more common fan favorites as well — “Playboy Mommy,” “Baker Baker,” and “Honey.” The full setlist has been posted in the Tour section for your perusal, review and approval.
I know it doesn’t need to be said since everyone should know the drill by now but I’ll say it anyway: if you were at the show and want to let us know what you thought of the performance, please do so using the comment form at the bottom of the Phoenix page.
Just a quick heads-up to those heading to the show tonight in Phoenix: because of the excessive heat in the aptly-named Valley of the Sun, there will NOT be a meet’n‘greet today. Stay cool in the A/C instead….
Well, the final West Coast show is in the record books. “Icicle,” “Sugar,” “Bells For Her,” “China,” “Space Dog” … a lot of old favorites this evening. “Jackie’s Strength” made the first appearance of this tour.
We have the full setlist up over in the Tour section. If you were there and want to share your experience (or piccies and/or video), head to the bottom of that page.
Many thanks to @Plutodrive79, @popbytes, and @lushvalley for keeping us up on the setlist in realtime over on Twitter.
