Still haven’t picked up Abnormally Attracted to Sin? Holding out for a deal?

Well, assuming you’re into digital downloads and are in the United States, such a deal has come along today: the regular edition (no visualettes, that is) is available from Amazon.com’s MP3 department for the low price of $2.99! Act quickly since the discounted price is only good for today, Friday, July 17th.

Thanks Matthew and Dink for catching this!

    San Diego: By The Bay

    Friday, July 17, 2009 | 06:47 UTC | Posted by Violet | Touring

Maybe it’s just our imagination, but tonight’s San Diego show seemed to have a bit of a beachy theme going on: Jamaica Inn, Siren, Martha’s Foolish Ginger, 1000 Oceans, Marys Of The Sea… Lots of ocean symbolism in there. A bittersweet surprise during solo time was a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Circle Game” in memory of [Tori’s brother] Michael.

Check out the full setlist (and reviews, pics, and videos when they come in) over on the San Diego page in the Tour section. If you were at the show and want to share your experience with everyone, head to the form at the bottom of the page.

Many thanks to @Hypermutable and @lushvalley for twittering the set.

    Tori Becomes Eclectic

    Friday, July 17, 2009 | 01:02 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori returned to KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic this morning, performing a six-song set during the last hour of the program. The set included “Maybe California,” “Curtain Call,” “Silent All These Years,” “Happy Phantom” “Leather,” “Putting the Damage On” and, for its first public performance ever, “Ophelia.” Tori and host Jason Bentley also have a conversation covering the new album, touring and and headier stuff than most people would want to tackle before lunch!

The entire appearance is archived on kcrw.org in as both audio and video if you want to revisit the broadcast — or just hear/see it for the first time. Stream the audio below or head over to kcrw.org for the video.

She Knows The Way To San Jose

    Wednesday, July 15, 2009 | 07:01 UTC | Posted by Violet | Touring

The San Jose show just finished. Interesting inclusions were “Cool On Your Island,” “Horses,” “Liquid Diamonds,” “Putting The Damage On,” and perhaps most unexpectedly “Cars And Guitars.” Jon Evans was embarrassed by an improv during “Fast Horse” — we can’t wait to hear the full story on that! It was apparently one of the crew, the keyboard tech, not Jon.

Check the setlist out over in the Tour section.

If you were there, please share your thoughts on the show by posting a review using the form at the bottom of that page, or submitting photos and videos.

    Oakland: Of Paramount Importance

    Tuesday, July 14, 2009 | 07:08 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Tonight’s show at The Paramount in Oakland is in the books. Probably the most notable song from the evening was a cover of Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time” during the solo Lizard Lounge portion of the show that also included, naturally, the debut of “Maybe California.” Other first-timers were “Flavor,” “a sorta fairytale,” “Beauty of Speed,” “Martha’s Foolish Ginger,” “Mother Revolution,” and “Tear In Your Hand.” The full setlist, thanks to several Twitterers, can be found in the Tour section.

If you were there, please let everyone know what you thought of the show by posting a review using the form at the bottom of that page!

Update: Finally got photos, video and reviews from Oakland added to the site (damn you full-time job!). Of most interest, we imagine, is the “Baby One More Time” cover. There is a nice mp3 of the song at Here In My Head and at least a couple copies on YouTube. Enjoy!

KINK Live Performance Lounge Is Up!

    Sunday, July 12, 2009 | 13:54 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

As it turned out, Tori’s appearance in the KINK Live Performance Lounge wasn’t broadcast at the time widget on their home page said. Fortunately for those who missed it (including yours truly), the fine folks at KINK have posted the audio on their site. The appearance includes a chat about Tori’s memorable trip to Portland in 2007 and performances of “Leather,” Maybe California,” “Silent All These Years” and “500 Miles” — although only two songs were aired during the actual broadcast.

Update: Mark-Alexis points out that all four songs from the KINK session were surreptitiously filmed and posted on Youtube. Jump the cut to check them out.

    Fine Night In Portland

    Sunday, July 12, 2009 | 07:36 UTC | Posted by Violet | Touring

The Portland show ended a short time ago, and it sounds like it was lovely. Some great songs in there. We have the full setlist up in the Tour section. (Many thanks to Brendan C. and Alicia for getting that to us, since we weren’t able to cover it live.)

If you were there and would like to tell us how it was, head over to the Portland flashback page and send us a review.

Great news for Toriphiles in Oz: Robert Schrader tells us that at this afternoon’s M&G, Tori said there will be a tour of Australia in December. Yay! So all you folks Down Under may now commence with the running around in circles, jumping for joy.

    Seattle Ho!

    Saturday, July 11, 2009 | 03:42 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

The Sinful Attraction tour is kicking off tonight in Seattle so we’re sitting here at our laptops scanning Twitter and checking txt msgs sorting out what is going on out at the WaMu along with the rest of you. As we get setlist information in, we’ll get it posted on Seattle’s concert page.

Update The first show of the tour is in the books and the setlist posted. If you were there and want to let the world (or at least Undented’s readership) know what you thought of the concert, head on over to the Tour section and post a review in the comments section.

Also, since a few people have asked, there was a quick meet & greet in the afternoon which reportedly went over pretty smoothly.

    A Couple Upcoming Radio Appearances...

    Saturday, July 11, 2009 | 00:34 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

First, looks like Tori will be visiting Portland radio station KINK’s Live Performance Lounge as they were running a contest to be in the studio audience for the session but that ended yesterday. No details about the exact airtime are mentioned on either page but the “What’s Happening” widget at the bottom left of KINK’s home page indicates that it will take place on Saturday, July 11th at 5:30 PM PDT. If anyone can confirm (or is attending), we’d love to hear about it.

Second, after the false alarm back in May, it looks like Tori will finally be visiting KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic on Thursday, July 16th at 11:15 AM PDT.

Thanks to Jeff and aquadonia for the tips!

Tacoma News Tribune Interview (July 10, 2009)

    Saturday, July 11, 2009 | 00:05 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

I like every tour to be somewhat different. I think this (tour) covers a wider range of the catalog. And this album that I’ve just put out, to me it is not a concept album. It is a red-headed woman singing songs. And so I think that this tour is very song driven instead of production driven.

In another concert preview, the News Tribune’s Ernest Jasmin chatted with Tori about what to expect at her show in Seattle tonight, Abnormally Attracted to Sin and the prevalence of piano pop.

The author also posted a couple audio clips from the interview on the Tacoma Rock City blog a few days ago as a sneak preview of the interview which was published today.
