Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
A complete list of stores offering a free “art rock poster” with purchases of Abnormally Attracted to Sin has been posted on Tori’s Myspace blog. It’s said to be limited so if you want one you should probably swing by one of these retailers and pick one up soon.
Everything Tori sneakily added a new date to their listing for the upcoming tour: September 20th at the Royal Opera House in Copenhagen, Denmark. Tickets are slated to go on sale on May 25th, though no specific time or vendor are identified yet.
Additionally, Everything Tori has also added vendor links for the four UK dates as well.
Thanks to Valentina and Rikke for catching this!
Remember back when Undented and Yessaid were asked by Spinner to collect questions for a fan interview of Tori? Well, Spinner has just posted a video of Tori answering said questions. We haven’t had a chance to watch it yet (hey, we’re at work!) but we’re looking forward to it…enjoy!
On-sale dates for nearly all of the North American stops on the Sinful Attraction Tour have been posted at ToriAmos.com, Everything Tori and Myspace. Most of these are on the weekends of May 30th and June 5th, so one would assume that these are the general on-sale dates and not the dates for the iTunes pre-sales or any other pre-sales that promoters or the venue may hold.
These on-sale dates have been added to the Tour section and, as pre-sale information becomes available, those will supersede the general sales in the listing until the pre-sale passes.
Thanks to Stinkysoul for catching this last night and Jack for noticing the late night update on the official site.
Want to hear what Tori has to say about “Strong Black Vine?” If so, head on over to Last.fm where you can find the latest installment of Tori talking about the songs from the new record:
Last week, Abnormally Attracted to Sin arrived the Australia and much of Europe. Today marks its UK and French release and the album arrives in stores in North America tomorrow. Presumably most people will be picking up the regular edition, the deluxe edition with the visualette DVD (though, we hear, that’s been slightly delayed in Australia), the vinyl (raises his hand), a digital release on iTunes if that’s what floats your boat (or your ticket pre-sale), or some combination of the above. And, of course, if you’re holding off, you can still listen to the album at Myspace, The Guardian and the German Universal Music site — though, sadly, it seems that folks outside North America, the UK or Germany may not be able to take advantage of any of those streams.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the deluxe edition yet, Inge from The Velvets kindly gave us permission to use her pictures of the deluxe edition and scans of the deluxe booklet that she posted on her site over the weekend. The European release also included a small poster to whet the collector’s appetite.
It’s worth noting above the fold that the DVD is titled “The Road Chronicles,” which the sharp-minded will recall as the title of a project Tori discussed in an interview for Revolver. It wasn’t clear then — and still isn’t clear now — if “The Road Chronicles” is, in fact, the American Doll Posse tour DVD primarily filmed in Oakland in 2007, but it is clear that “The Road Chronicles” evolved out of that original project. Whether or not it sounds the death knell of the ADP DVD remains to be seen…
Enjoy the pictures and thanks again to Inge!
Dan found this review of Abnormally Attracted to Sin by Mike Ragogna on The Huffington Post. While not exactly your regular, run-of-the-mill newspaper or magazine, it’s close enough for us! Thanks Dan!
Well, it seems that Tori was not on Morning Becomes Eclectic today after all. We had the presence of mind to check their listings, see that she wasn’t scheduled to be on the program today and remove the calendar listing but completely forgot to mention it as a news article. Mea culpa if anyone remembered and tuned in though, truth be told, we hope you enjoyed Lonely, Dear who are quite enjoyable too! Unfortunately, Tori’s not listed on the site as one of the upcoming guests, at least through the end of this week, either. For lack of a better explanation, we’ll chalk this one up to our old friend, Miss Communication.
As far as the two television appearances Matt Chamberlain mentioned on his website a few weeks back, it looks like the only one that’s going to happen is The Tonight Show on May 22nd. According to their schedule, she’s a confirmed guest on that date. On the other hand, there is no trace of her on The Late Late Show’s schedule so it seems that appearance isn’t going to happen.
Thanks to Oren and meg for poking the memory cells about this.
This is the difference when you’re a mid-20s minister’s kid and when you’re 45: you’ve slept with the devil more than once and you don’t have guilt because you understand the concept of Lucifer and damnation. What damnation, from whom? I’m more worried about the Earth deciding to kick us all off.
That quip is taken from a short interview in today’s free London Paper. (It’s so free, you can also find it online!) Tori and Malcolm Mackenzie chat about the new record, relationships, being a minister’s daughter (hence the quote above) and The Light Princess.
Thanks to kayduu and Mike S for letting us know!
Several people — including yours truly — were pleased to report that the lithograph mentioned in the previous story is being offered with purchases of Abnormally Attracted to Sin across the country.
I confirmed that they will be available from Exile on Main here in southern Connecticut while others have seen them advertised from Plan 9 Music in Richmond, Vintage Vinyl in New Jersey, Shake It Records in Cincinnati, and Newbury Comics in the Boston area, just to name a few stores.
Since several data points make a trend, we think it’s safe to say that this promotion is happening — based on the anecdotal evidence — at independent record stores across the United States.
So if you’re still looking for someplace worthwhile to give your hard-earned cash in exchange for Abnormally Attracted to Sin, want to support locally-owned small businesses and get something neat in the process, check out your local indie record store!
Thanks to Terry, Matt, Marci, Jenn, Jen and Derek for advance scouting!
