    The Martians Have Landed

    Tuesday, February 05, 2008 | 01:23 UTC | Posted by Beth | Them

A couple of you have been missing Tori and her gang badly enough that you’ve been surfing by the Martian Engineering site to see what they’re up to. Doings at the Cornwall-based studio seem to be coming along nicely; the place looks kind of like a luxury hotel crossed with a hot-shot recording studio (look at those comfy leather chairs!). They’ve also sneakily added a couple of outtakes from the ADP photo shoots, which you can check out here and here. Thanks, Jena and BMac!

    Wednesday, January 30, 2008 | 06:33 UTC | Posted by Beth | Them

Tori may be taking some time off from touring, but Matt Chamberlain sure isn’t. According to the Live Music Blog, our favorite skin-slapper will be drumming with Marco Beneveto for a series of gigs in May on the West Coast. Follow the link for complete dates and places. Thanks to Kimberly for spotting this.

BT's Missing Daughter Found, Mom In Jail

    Sunday, January 20, 2008 | 18:45 UTC | Posted by Beth | Minutiae

A while back, Tori lent her vocals to “Blue Skies,” a beautiful electronica song by Brian Transeau, better known to many of us as BT. Marcus Rivera wrote us earlier this week to let us know that BT’s three-year-old daughter, Kaia, had been reported missing. Since then, thankfully, she has been found. Initially, Kaia’s mom, Ashley Duffy, was a suspect in the girl’s disappearance, and she remained jailed late last week even after the charges against her were dismissed. We can only hope this situation has a speedy and peaceful resolution.

Oooh, oooh, ooooh! Rantz surprised us with some early art from Comic Book Tattoo. Yippee! Talk about perfect for a Sunday…

Tori In Geek Monthly's January 2008 Issue

    Saturday, January 19, 2008 | 23:09 UTC | Posted by Beth | Articles

Tori is featured in the January, 2008, issue of Geek Monthly (with Lost’s Jorge Garcia on the cover). David Michael Conner interviews Tori, who talks about why she loves geeks, what’s most geeky about her, and the process of writing the “Light Princess” musical. The mag hits newsstands next week — hopefully one of you will transcribe it. (Pretty please? With geeks on top?)

    The Big, Bad Covers Catch-Up

    Saturday, January 19, 2008 | 21:38 UTC | Posted by Beth | Minutiae

It’s a cold and wintry Saturday in much of the U.S., so maybe you’re sitting by the flatscreen monitor with a cup of cocoa and wondering what you’re going to do. Wonder no more, and check out these covers of various Tori songs:

    • Over on MySpace, you can click on Ashleigh Music’s player to hear a live cover of “Leather.”
    • And if that wasn’t enough “Leather” for you, check out Alyse Black’s version, performed live at the Musicquarium in Seattle.
    • Julean Rae has covered a number of Tori songs, including “Little Earthquakes” and “Winter.” Check out “Father Lucifer” over on YouTube.

Thanks to matt evans, pumpkinpjays, lauren, Lynn and Luky for sending these our way.

What Perez Sez About Divas To Air In February

    Wednesday, January 16, 2008 | 21:37 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

EverythingTori has announced that the upcoming episode of What Perez Sez that features, among others, Tori will be aired on February 12th. VH1’s programming schedule only goes out to the end of January (and the other television listing sites don’t go much farther) so the exact times are not available yet.

As reported earlier, the topic of this upcoming show is divas. We really have no idea — none whatsoever! — as to why Tori would be on such a program! Honest!
