Pressetext.Austria Interview -- In The Raw!

    Tuesday, July 10, 2007 | 01:03 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

Martin interviewed Tori for pressetext.austria which published an edited version of the interview in German. Fortunately, Martin has posted the uncut text of the conversation he had with Tori on his blog in English as a gift to the Tori fan community. Head on over and take a look-see — it’s quite a nice interview where she discusses iTunes, the PS22 Choir and the Internet, amongst other things! Thanks Martin for sharing!

Jörg from the Toriforum.de had the opportunity to interview Tori for the German telelvision station ProSieben and the interview has been posted online for your viewing pleasure. Jörg asked some excellent questions and Tori addresses a number of interesting topics including the musical. Congratulations to Jörg for getting this opportunity! And thanks to jennytalula for letting us know about this!

    Studio Brussel Interview

    Tuesday, July 10, 2007 | 00:18 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Prior to her appearance at Rock Werchter on July 1st, Tori stopped by Belgian radio station Studio Brussel where she was interviewed briefly. Listen to the interview clip, which requires Windows Media Player, by clicking on the text “Ze geniet van de energie” at the Studio Brussel page linked above or try this direct link to their embedded audio player.

Two lovely photographs of Tori were also posted on the Studio Brussel page. The first is thumbnailed here and both are included in their full-sized glory beyond the cut. And though she’s definitely worn it before, we don’t know anything about the lovely necklace she’s wearing. Do you? See update.

T is for Tori and Santa In The Park

    Monday, July 09, 2007 | 14:51 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Santa played the first half of Tori’s set at the Pet Sounds Arena at T in the Park on Sunday. We don’t yet have a complete set list, so if anyone can provide one, that would be appreciated. EverythingTori has posted the setlist, which was a shortened festival gig. If you braved the mud and rain at Balado, please feel free to post your review of the show using the form at the bottom of the T in the Park concert page

Marae tells us that 26 minutes of Tori’s set (the “Tori” part, not the Santa part) were broadcast on BBCi earlier today.

Incidentally, The Scotsman gave Tori some good press in their review of the festival:

To those inquisitive enough to check out the Pet Sounds arena, there was a storming set by a resplendent, gold catsuit-clad Tori Amos to savour, while those who chose to shun the big stage headliners were treated to an intimate session with Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice.

Update: The Scotsman giveth and The Scotsman taketh away. Paul Whitelaw’s perception of Tori’s set was not as charitable:

Elsewhere, Tori Amos’s decision to make a five-minute costume change halfway through her hour-long set was seriously misjudged. She treated us to two of her Bowie-esque “characters”, namely Pauline Fowler and Cyndi Lauper if appearances were anything to go by.

The Guardian's London Concert Review (July 4, 2007)

    Sunday, July 08, 2007 | 16:55 UTC | Posted by woj | Reviews,Touring

The Guardian also weighed in on Tori’s two-night stand in London, reviewing the second show in the July 6th edition of the paper. The reviewer also gave the show 3 stars and had some reservations about the show—but at least she got Isabel’s name right. Thanks to Bob for the link. Read on for the review.

The Independent's London Concert Review (July 3, 2007)

    Sunday, July 08, 2007 | 16:48 UTC | Posted by woj | Reviews,Touring

The Independent reviewed Tori’s first concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, giving it a mixed review with 3 of 5 stars. The reviewer seems to have gotten the dolls a little confused though as he is clearly writing about the first show but identifies the opener as Isabel instead of Santa. Jump the flip for the review.

Thanks to Bob for the link!

    Pip Pulls No Punches-town

    Sunday, July 08, 2007 | 00:48 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Tori, with the assistance of Pip, rocked the Pet Sounds Stage at the Oxegen Festival in Ireland earlier tonight. As with other festivals, it was a shortened set for a festival setting with the set pretty evenly split between the two dolls. Pip’s set included “Cruel”, “Bliss” and “The Waitress” while Tori played the standard “Big Wheel”, “Cornflake Girl” and “Precious Things.” For the full set and to share your review of the performance, swing by the Oxegen page in the Tour section.

Incidentally, it appears that neither the Oxegen webcam nor the RTÉ broadcast included anything from Tori’s set — however, I must say that even Tori-less, RTÉ has been keeping my earwigs happy this afternoon. Sounds like it’s been a fine day — and night — out there at Punchestown!

    Oxegen Festival Broadcast on RTÉ

    Saturday, July 07, 2007 | 19:44 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Irish radio RTÉ is broadcasting from the Oxegen 2007 festival on 2fm (Real Audio stream) and their digital-only station, 2XM (Real Audio stream). Unfortunately, their broadcast schedule, does not specify which performances will be aired when, so it is not clear if any of Tori’s set will be aired or not. There is a good chance though as they are recording music on four of the six stages at the festival.

As a reminder, Tori is slated to play the Pet Sounds Stage at 9:10pm local time.

Update: Also, Oxegen has a live webcam as well. Chances that anything they stream will be from the main stage, but you never know!

T In The Park On The BBC

    Saturday, July 07, 2007 | 18:54 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Thanks to Marae for letting us know that the BBC will be providing extensive coverage of T In The Park, where Tori plays on Sunday. They are posting on-demand video on Channel T and there will also be radio and television coverage on BBC Three, BBC Scotland One and Two, Radio 1 and Radio Scotland.

BBC Three will have T In The Park programming hosted by Lauren Laverne, Zane Lowe and Dougie Anderson starting at 7pm and 10pm on Sunday. Tori is not included in either listing explicitly, but hopefully they may show some of her performance during the broadcast.

Radio 1’s Edith Bowman and Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway will look back at the festival on Monday at 7pm on Radio 1.

If the radio and television broadcasts pass over Tori and focus on the higher-profile headliners, hopefully Channel T will deliver some video highlights for us….
