Show & Tell With Radcliffe and Maconie

    Friday, July 06, 2007 | 12:02 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie are listing Tori as an upcoming guest on their BBC Radio 2 program on Tuesday, July 17th. Tori’s appearance is specified as “Show & Tell With Tori Amos”. We’re not sure what that means but, judging from the past playlists, it appears that it’s one of those play-a-track and tell-us-why-you-played it. (I’ve got 5 quid on Led Zep to win, Joni Mitchell to place, and Carole King to show.) Then again, maybe she’ll talk about wig mechanics! In any case, tune in to Radio 2 at 8pm British Daylight Time to find out!

Thanks to Alexander’s Psychiatry for the tip!

    Manchester: Clyde-O-Scope

    Friday, July 06, 2007 | 08:31 UTC | Posted by Violet | Touring

While there were no debuts or surprises in Manchester, fans seemed to really enjoy this show, the last normal full-on Tori concert for a while as we go into a stretch of festivals beginning July 7th. “Little Earthquakes,” “Juárez,” “Merman,” “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” and “Spark” were the songs that have appeared least so far. And of course people always seem happy when “Rattlesnakes” shows up. Head over to the Tour section for reviews, photos, videos, and whatever else.

Tori In Revu (June 29, 2007)

    Friday, July 06, 2007 | 01:56 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles,Video

While in Amsterdam last month, Tori did an interview with the Dutch magazine Revu which, as MarianneRose pointed out to us, has now been posted on their website. Tori discusses the album’s origin, the dolls’ evolution as the tour progresses and “Honey”. You can watch it on Revu’s website or, unsurprisingly, it has surfaced on YouTube:

This Is London Concert Review (July 3, 2007)

    Friday, July 06, 2007 | 01:02 UTC | Posted by woj | Reviews,Touring

This Is London gave Tori’s first concert at the Hammersmith Apollo a glowing review which they published on their website. Thanks to Amanda, Marci, Richard and Matt E for sending in the link!

Many faces of Tori mark return to past glory

    Lisa Verrico, London Lite 04.07.07

She had the spell-binding presence of Tori Amos, but the lady who strode on stage like a cross between a catwalk model and a high-class call girl had little else in common with the hippy chick singer whose kookiness rivals Kate Bush.

    London 2: Befitting Isabel

    Thursday, July 05, 2007 | 10:59 UTC | Posted by Violet | Touring

Staying true to character, Isabel kicked off a more politically-charged show than usual on July 4th with “Yo George” and “Sweet Dreams” heading up a set that ended with “Tombigbee.” Then “Home On The Range (Cherokee Edition)” put in a particularly rare appearance as the first song of the solo segment. And did we mention the stars-and-stripes jumpsuit? Politics aside, “A Sorta Fairytale” also made its debut. As always, to check out setlists, reviews, and whatever other goodies people have sent in for all the shows so far, head over to the Tour section.

    London: Santa Brings The Sass

    Wednesday, July 04, 2007 | 17:26 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Despite the difficult and sombre circumstances in London, Santa opened the concert last night with a playful sassiness which, from the reviews received, permeated Tori’s performance as well. “Spring Haze” was preceded by a powerful improvisation about independence. “Cool On Your Island” was debuted during the solo section of the show, which also included “China” and “Yes, Anastasia”. There was also an impromptu improv (hey, isn’t that an oxymoron redundant? I should not write words before coffee.) when Tori messed up and stopped “Black Dove” before continuing on with “Bliss”. Check out the full setlist, some video clips (including both improvs) and others’ thoughts about the show on the first London page. And if you were there and haven’t already, feel free to post your thoughts about the show too!

    Pip Rocks Rock Werchter

    Monday, July 02, 2007 | 00:13 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Tonight at Rock Werchter, Tori had the final headlining slot on the Pyramid Marquee Stage. Pip opened the show playing several of her usual songs but concluded her portion of the evening with “The Waitress”. As it was a festival setting, there was neither a solo portion or any encores. The full setlist has been posted on the Rock Werchter page — thanks to Saar for texting updates to The Afterglow. If you attended and would like to share your thoughts about the show, please use the form at the bottom of the Werchter page!
