    Tori In The Finnish Media

    Saturday, June 23, 2007 | 20:19 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Thanks to Norna, who posted about this on @forumz: Finnish television station YLE is streaming much of the Provinssirock festival on the web, including a large portion of Tori’s performance. Tori’s set starts around the 1 hour mark of the stream on this page while YLE’s interview with Tori is at the start of the stream on this second page.

Unfortunately for people not in Finland, the streams are only available for Finnish viewers. Fortunately for folks not in Finland, there is YouTube where drtbn has posted “Cornflake Girl” from the set.

That video has been added to the Provinssirock concert page, where any other clips from the YLE recording will be posted as well if they should surface (nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more!).

MTV3, another Finnish television station, reported on the Provinssirock festival as well, mentioning Tori as being one of the main attractions of the festival this year, as it was her first performance in Finland. Tori says one thing during the clip: “My shows are very theatrical so I think they suit a confined space where people are taken on a journey. You can do it in a massive space.” A clip of Tori performing “Cruel” is show. Stream the report in Windows Media.

    Bratislava: Clyde

    Friday, June 22, 2007 | 22:23 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

EverythingTori has posted a setlist for tonight’s show in Bratislava, Slovakia. Clyde opened the show and debuted “Juarez”. A text message from Jill who was in attendance to The Afterglow indicates that the solo songs consisted of “partly Happy Phantom, Winter and Yes Anastasia,” in contrast to what EverythingTori lists (a “Happy Phantom”/“Garlands” medley and “Cool On Your Island”). Jill did confirm that “Juarez” was debuted though!

“Happy Phantom” was interrupted when an audience member tried to sit down on the floor in the center aisle and was approached by security. Tori stopped playing, yelled at them to stop, flung both of her shoes at the two people and then started “Winter” instead.

Check out the setlist on the Bratislava page and, if you were there and can provide any details about the performance or the setlist, please use the form there to share your thoughts!

    Isabel Documents: Devils & Gods

    Friday, June 22, 2007 | 15:54 UTC | Posted by woj | Releases

A recent entry on Isabel’s blog discusses the evolution of “Devils and Gods”, including the lyrics to the expanded version of the song, as it is being performed on tour. Check out the entry at the link above or read the post below the jump.

American Doll Posse Songbook Already Out

    Friday, June 22, 2007 | 11:11 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases

While it wasn’t supposed to be released until October, a couple of people have already spotted copies of the American Doll Posse songbook on the shelves of shops in the US and Canada.

Brian Nash reports buying a copy in Colony Records in midtown Manhattan and Pierre-Olivier spotted it in Archambault in Montreal.

If you want one, call around to music stores in your area. They just might have it in stock.

More Whispers Of A Stage Production

    Friday, June 22, 2007 | 10:58 UTC | Posted by Violet | Cherries

    Guy sent in the following:

In the Daily Mail (a UK newspaper) this morning (Friday 22nd June) there was a small but intriguing piece about Tori:

“Watch out for… Tori Amos, the singer, who is collaborating with dramatist Samuel Adamson on a hoped-for production of The Light Princess, George McDonald’s story (which was illustrated by Maurice Sendak) about a princess cursed by a witch. The National Theatre has commissioned Ms Amos and Mr Adamson to see what they come up with.

“Adamson, by the way, has also adapted Pedro Almodovar’s great film All About My Mother for the Old Vic, and Diana Rigg has joined the company, along with Lesley Manville, Joanne Froggart, Colin Morgan and Charlotte Randle. Performances begin on August 25.”

Now it’s safe to start speculating. Whee!

Buy an LJ Account, Support RAINN

    Thursday, June 21, 2007 | 18:04 UTC | Posted by Beth | RAINN

Livejournal, the blogging community, is doing a rare sale of permanent accounts, starting today (June 21st) and ending June 28. However, for the first 36 hours (as in, right now), $25 from each sale of a $150 permanent account will go toward one of four charity organizations, including RAINN (the other three are Witness, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and Creative Commons). Proceeds will be split evenly between the four, so you can’t or you can pick where your money goes. This may not be impetus to join LJ for the first time, but if you’re already a member, it’s something to keep in mind.

    Catching Up With The Tour

    Tuesday, June 19, 2007 | 05:07 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Although we haven’t been posting individual stories for each of the recent concerts on the front page (chalk that up to the aforementioned nap!), we have been updating the individual pages for all the shows on the tour so far, including the setlist and any photos, videos or reviews that Toriphiles have been sending in. Reviews have been added pretty much as they come in, but we got behind the 8-ball for photos and videos. In the past couple days, a slew of photographs have been added for Munich, Vienna, Nuremberg, Copehagen, and Seinäjoki. Additionally, we just posted video clips for Düsseldorf, Oslo and Berlin.

Thanks to everyone who sent us files and links!

    Second Sydney Show

    Friday, June 15, 2007 | 20:40 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

A second show in Sydney on September 24th has been added. As with the first, it will be at the Sydney Opera House. It is on presale now at the Sydney Opera House box office and Ticketmaster listing.

Update: And while it’s old news by now, we would be remiss to not mention that a second show in Melbourne has been added as well on Tuesday, September 11th. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster. Apologies for the late notice: Undented napped all weekend.

Update: Thanks to Zac for pointing out that the Sydney Opera House also lists two more additional dates which have not been confirmed: Saturday, September 15th and Tuesday, September 25th. Presumably, that these two dates are tentative holds on the dates that may or may not become real depending on how ticket sales for the two announced shows go.
