Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Amanda B scanned and sent us this Tori-themed cartoon from the June 5, 2007, issue of the London Lite newspaper. Like Amanda, we’re a little surprised they did this, but maybe it’s meant to be a bit of a stumper. Understanding this cartoon requires knowing a little about British politics. Click the thumbnail to see a bigger copy of the cartoon.
Tori’s “Big Wheel” performance (“MIL,” er, “X” and all — thanks, Joe) on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson is now available on YouTube for your viewing pleasure:
We especially like the enthusiastic intro from Quentin Tarantino. Thanks for sending this in, Nathan!
We know, we know, this is a little cheesy, but Jenn and Lisa both wrote in to tell us about this Rosie O’Donnell home video featuring some backyard bubblemania set to the tune of “Sleeps with Butterflies.” Go on, watch it, and if it’s nice outside you can re-enact it with your own kids or friends.
John Philip Shenale, the composer who has created Tori’s string arrangements since Day One, has a profile on MySpace where you can listen to a version of “Jackie’s Strength” that’s different from the one on Choirgirl and see many photos of him, Tori, and their string players. Jenn and Devin, thanks for the scoop!
Alastair wrote in to tell us that New Zealand-based Tori fans are putting together a last-ditch effort to bring Tori to New Zealand by collecting signatures on this petition. While Tori went Down Under in 2005 for the Original Sinsuality tour, she hasn’t been to NZ since Under the Pink!
Several people have written in to let us know that Preferred Seating has starting selling their allotment of tickets for all of the Australian concerts.
However, please note: they are a ticket reseller so 1) buying tickets through them will entail paying a premium and 2) they do not specify seat assignments because they are provided a block of tickets from the promoter which they then assign to their customers after the time of purchase. That said, all indications from people who have used them before are that they do, in fact, provide good seats. You just have to be comfortable with paying the premium.
Note: We have been told by Tori Amos’s management that buying tickets through Preferred Seating does not guarantee you a seat. We’re not sure why that is, but since the source is very credible, we wanted to get that out there.
Additionally, Preferred Seating is not to be confused with VISA Entertainment, which also sells tickets to concerts and other events.
Clyde opened the gig at the Philharmonie with “Bouncing Off Clouds,” “Black-Dove (January),” “Rattlesnakes” (would that be Clyde covering Tori covering Lloyd Cole, or Clyde covering Lloyd Cole?) and others. If you were there, head on over to the Munich page to chime in on the show!
In the June 3, 2007, issue of the Worcester Telegram, columnist/critic Craig Sermon took a gander at American Doll Posse.
Michael Coppel Presents, the promoter for the Australian leg of the American Doll Posse tour, has posted ticket information for all the shows. It’s embedded in a Flash file (_why do people do that?_), so it’s a bit unwieldy, but the bottom line is that tickets go on sale on Monday, June 18th at 9:00 AM. Ticket links will be added to this article and the tour pages soon as we have a chance to do so. Thanks to Astred and Onlybride for the head’s up!
UPDATE: Sprk checked with Antenne this morning and it appears there was a misunderstanding: the broadcast was actually of people being interviewed at the show, not the show itself. “Cornflake Girl” was also played, though it’s not clear if this was the studio version or a live recording. The station also confirmed that they did not have a recording of the show after all.
According to J@ckiiee, the radio station Antenne Düsseldorf will be broadcasting some of the concert sometime during the day on Thursday, June 7th. She learned this from station staff who were at the concert who interviewed her. There is no information about this on Antenne’s website but we are hoping to get some more information soon.
For those not in the station’s broadcast range, they stream live on the web as well in Windows Media. Just click on the Internet-Stream Starten link.
