Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Ater sent in this review of American Doll Posse which appeared in the May 25th edition of the Dayton Daily News. So far, they have deigned not to post it on their site.
Tori has extended an invitation to the Pope to attend the first American Doll Posse show in Rome:
A MESSAGE FOR HIS HOLINESS POPE BENIDICT XVI
As a Daughter of the Christian Church I invite you, The Father of The Vatican to partake in Musical Communion as we commence The American Doll Posse World Tour in Rome.
Because it’s you, a small entourage would be welcome.
As Always,
I am
Tori Amos
Come sempre,
Io sono
Tori Amos
Oooh, we hope he gives her a ride in the Popemobile! Or at least lets her try on the funny hat.
Thanks to jeremy, ciciley, and angie for sending this in.
They continue to trickle in: George Lang’s review of American Doll Posse appeared in the May 25th edition of The Oklahoman.
Fabz reports that several members of the Italian Tori forum have seen a “Bouncing Off Clouds” video on MTV Italia". It’s said that the video is similar to the one for Big Wheel though with some different photographs. If anyone can provide additional information, it would be appreciated!
Sasha Frere-Jones, a music critic for the New Yorker (here’s his ADP review), caught the special showcase Tori did in New York City at The Spotlight on the American Doll Posse release date and posted this quick-n-dirty review on his blog, along with a picture of the evening’s drink menu.
Amanda was the first to let us know that Tori’s sparkly, low-cut, bow-bedecked dress earned the ire of Star magazine, declaring it a Major Fashion Violation! (whoop! whoop!) in their May 28th issue. Star tapped noted fashion authorities Goumba Johnny (“This look is bow-toxic.”) and Daphne Brogdon (“Gift-wrap couture.”) to critique Tori’s attire. Of course, as any good Tori fan knows, she has a track record to uphold so Undented sez, “Move along! Nothing to see here!”
Thanks, also, to Aaron and Becky for this one!
Everyone lamenting not being able to listen to the Rhapsody interview should head on over to VH1’s VSPOT to check out the video Box Set that they have posted. The set includes several recent interview clips about everything from the new record to Y Kant Tori Read, punctuated with several of Tori’s videos and the Live @ VH1 session.
The whole thing is in Flash so it should work out better for everyone — not just Americans using Winders!
Note: fixed the link. The one that was there before worked last night! Honest!
The Phoenix New Times has reviewed American Doll Posse too! (Shall we run a pool to see which newspaper or magazine will be the last one to do so?)
The most important thing is: what are you willing to do to take it to the world? You have to do things that are pretty ballsy. There are consequences to everything and you have to say, ‘Am I ready? Can I swallow that?’
Breaking up the monotony of reviews, here’s a new interview that appears in the June 2007 issue of UK magazine The Word. This issue’s cover story is “Mavericks” in the music industry and they number Tori in that group. This short interview was conducted by Sylvia Patterson and transcribed by (surprise!) Anni.
As mentioned in the last article, the June 2007 issue of Mojo features the “100 Records That Changed The World”, as chosen by the magazine’s favo[u]rite musicians. Tori got to expound on #74: Carole King’s Tapestry:
“I remember the babysitter bringing this record with her one night. I was four or five at the time and I was entranced by it. Over the next couple of weeks it was my goal to play every single song. I was in trouble because I was supposed to be playing Mozart. Carole King is one of the greatest songwriters ever. Her songs are like stories or sonic movies, you want to walk into them. With “I Feel The Earth Move” or “It’s Too Late”, you’re right there. Some people have emotions they talk about, with Carole King, you sense how she really feels.”
Thanks, yet again, to Anni for sending this in!
