Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Anni also transcribed Mojo’s review of the new album for us. Thanks to her for that, as it’s not on their website either (tsk tsk! such luddites!). The review’s in the June 2007 issue, with the “100 Records That Changed The World” cover story, in case you feel the need to track it down.
Although it’s not on their site yet, Uncut reviewed American Doll Posse in their latest issue and Anni sent it in for y’all. Thanks to her for that!
Thanks to Noah for directing us to Blender’s review of American Doll Posse.
Rhapsody, RealNetwork’s digital music service, has scored an exclusive interview with Tori about American Doll Posse. As they put it:
On American Doll Posse, the flame-haired chanteuse created five personas based on goddesses in Greek mythology and sculpted her body into supermodel proportions for the CD sleeve. In this exclusive interview she tells us exactly how she did it, why her husband was the right man and who exactly is the real Tori Amos.
The nine-track interview can be streamed for free but requires the installation of Rhapsody’s music software to do so. Additionally, the free flavor of Rhapsody only allows for 25 free plays per month, so use them wisely….
I still have some testosterone and she was quite lovely when she was younger. Yeah, she’s an older woman, but with all due respect, I thing the Queen is quite shaggable. I mean who wouldn’t want to shag a queen?
Thanks to Pete for sending in this interview that appears in the May issue of Attitude magazine (despite the lack of any mention on the site, it’s in there!).
A bit of old news but somehow we missed this until now. Bobby Martini put Tori’s “Professional Widow” and and Kelis’ “Milkshake” in a blender, pressed “frappe” and came up with Professional Milkshake. Wadsworth did the same with the video and it was recently posted to YouTube.
A tip of the hat to they-know-who-they-are for pointing this out.
Mike M points out that Amazon.com has added a listing for the American Doll Posse songbook. The collection will be available starting October 7th.
Update: Amazon is saying October 1st now.
While several reviews of American Doll Posse have measured it against Björk’s Volta, The Deseret News’ Scott Iwasaki pairs it up with Nine Inch Nails’ Year Zero and finds them both worthy in light of each artist’s past triumphs.
Gary Moskowitz reviewed American Doll Posse for Mother Jones. (Strangely, it was the KaTe Bush mention that brought this to Google News’ attention — go figure!)
The Star-Telegram’s Preston Jones reviewed American Doll Posse last week, along with Björk’s Volta and several other new releases. While short, it’s quite rather postive!
