Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Recently, Ticketmaster has been telling fans that Tori’s US tour has been delayed.
This has caused confusion and is not quite accurate.
When Ticketmaster told people in June that the pre-sales had been delayed until July, they were making a ballpark estimate for promotional purposes. Their guess wasn’t quite as on-the-mark as they’d hoped, leading them to now report that things are “delayed.”
So the delay is only regarding the start of the Ticketmaster pre-sales. We have confirmation from management that the tour itself is on schedule.
Where and when the US dates will be — and when they will go on sale — we don’t know. But as soon as we hear anything at all, we’ll definitely post about it.
Several of you wrote to ask if we could get any information on the stunning white parrot necklace Tori is wearing in the photo from the Studio Brussel interview...
We asked one of our contacts if she knew anything about the necklace’s background. She tells us:
“Tori bought it at Concrete in London (clothing store where she frequently shops) back in 2005. She bought the white one in the picture and a green one. She actually wore both a lot during Beekeeper promo/tour.”
We also asked about the necklace in the photo from the recent American Way interview, which appears to be a red version of the parrot: “The red one is a different necklace (about which I know nothing—sorry).”
UPDATE: Okay, so the year is a bit off; numerous Toriphiles wrote in to say they remembered Tori wearing the parrot back in 2003 and they coughed up photographic proof…
Mikewhy took several photos of it at the Louisville M&G on March 15th, 2003. So did a submitter who wishes to remain anonymous. And Beverly pointed out that Tori was wearing the necklace on the Tales Of A Librarian DVD. (Mostly I’m wondering how on earth I could have had TOAL for four years — and even listened to it recently — and not known my edition even had a DVD, but sure enough, it does! Eesh.)
So again, the year may be off (you know how time can fly and go all melty around the edges sometimes), but T. got it at Concrete.
The BBC have added an 11 minute clip from Tori’s performance to Channel T, their online coverage of the T In The Park festival. The clip includes “Big Wheel” and “Cornflake Girl”. You can view it using the Flash player right on that page (though you’ll have to scroll down to the bottom of the clip list to find Tori) or, if you prefer, there are Windows Media and Real Audio streams available as well.
Thanks to Andi for spotting this!
Update: Alexander’s Psychiatry has captured the video and posted the two songs to YouTube:
Big Wheel
Cornflake Girl
You know the song from the Bonn soundcheck back in June of 2005? Yeah, that one, the one alternately referred to by fans as “From The Other Side Of The Mountain” or “Melusine.” Apparently Tori partially tracked it for American Doll Posse, but didn’t get around to finishing it with the Jon and Matt. atmoravi filmed flothemil asking Tori about it in Nuremberg last month. Thanks to lauren for passing this on.
In mid-June, we reported that Evans Blue was covering “Caught A Lite Sneeze” on their upcoming album The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends, due to hit stores on July 24th.
You can have an advance listen to the entire song over on Project Playlist. Should be the first link that comes up. Really not too bad, as Tori covers go.
Thanks for passing this on, Pat!
I am the same age as Johnny Depp. At my age, in this business I am beyond the perception border, whilst Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt are becoming admirable and sexy just now.
The following interview appeared in Süddeutschen Zeitung back in April. Among other things, Tori discusses the challenges of being a female artist in a man’s world, dealing with constant air travel, staying faithful in marriage, and which doll Mark most wanted to take home first (and which one frightens him). Cheers to Jennytalula for translating it for us.
“Next time, I’ll bring a gun“
American Doll Posse was also the first review in the Down Low section of the July 1st issue of American Way, just following the interview which leads off the section.
Okay, if we’re going to take on the patriarchy and its ideology, then what do you do? If it’s too loud, turn it up.
Jill alerted us to this interview which appeared in the Down Low section of the July 1st issue of American Way, American Airlines in-flight magazine. Read the interview on American Way’s website or here.
Bigger Earthquakes
There are times I’ve wished I was a man because I’m the same age as Johnny Depp and he might know how women taste but I know how they think. I think I’d have had gals lined up around the block, mate.
Completing the trifecta, I also stumbled across this interview in The Financial Times’ archives, conducted by the Ludovic Hunter-Tilney who wrote that paper’s review of American Doll Posse. The interview appeared in the May 11th edition of the Times.
A search of the The Financial Times website (never hurts to do a quick check when visiting a site for the first time in a while), turned up their review of American Doll Posse. It was published back on April 28th, so they’re not a candidate for the latest review of the album booby prize … but we deserve a little egg on our face for missing this before.
