Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
The Night of Hunters tour returned to Germany tonight with Tori and the Quartett gracing the stage of Frankfurt’s Alte Oper. Fortunately, there was a live updater, via the Twitter (second night in a row with one! yay!) so, with thanks to @lenoreva, we’re happy to say that the concert featured the first performances of “Strange,” “Jamaica Inn, “Taxi Ride,” “Velvet Revolution,” and John Lennon’s “Imagine” on the tour. The evening also included “Edge of the Moon,” “Snow Cherries From France” and “Precious Things.” The full setlist has been posted in the Tour archive for your perusal and edification.
We’d love to hear what attendees thought of the performance if you’d like to share it with the site and everyone else — drop a review on us using the comment form at the bottom of the Frankfurt page. Check back over the next few days for videos and photos as well.
In advance of her first visit to South Africa, Tori called into South African radio station KFM and chatted with morning show host Ryan O’Connor about Night of Hunters and Tori’s philopsophy about touring and playing live.
They talked while she was in Amsterdam last week but it seems the interview wasn’t aired until Tuesday, October 25th. Check it out below or on Soundcloud.
Question: Have you heard any news in regards to the contest winners being chosen yet or not for the pre-sale sweepstakes that you had posted on the site earlier in September? Your site linked over the the official Tori site for the entry contest and it basically stated that 2 winners would be selected for the 13 US leg venues with front row seats. Any updates on this would be appreciated! Thanks! — Clay
Answer: According to the sweepstakes rules, winners were to be notified by U.S. mail and email on or around the 25th of September. As far as we know, winners were notified privately and there are no plans to make any sort of public announcement.
Update: Several lucky people have let us know they’ve been notified that they did win this contest so if anyone did, you should know my now!
This evening, Tori performed at Vienna’s Stadthalle. There were no debuts (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but several interesting selections came out to play, including “Seaside,” “Maybe California,” “Yes, Anastasia,” “I Can’t See New York,” “Doughnut Song” and “Merman.” The set also featured two covers: Elton John’s “Daniel”, performed solo in the middle of the main set, and Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” which kicked off the second encore.
The full set has been posted in the Tour section — head on over to see what filled out the rest of the performance. Many thanks to the lovely and talented @finnporter who battled poor reception to update the setlist for everyone via Twitter!
Reviews of the concert are always welcome — please feel free to post them via the comment form if you are sol inclined. We’ll also be happy to host your photos and videos, if you happened to take any from the show. Get in touch if you’d like to do so!
While we’re still not quite completely sure of tonight’s setlist in Luzern, between Twitter and forum updates from those that were there and the setlist posted on ToriAmos.com, we think we have a pretty reasonable handle on what went down on the shores of the Vierwaldstättersee this evening…
The concert featured debuts of “Maybe California” (performed with the Quartett), “The Power of Orange Knickers” and “Toast” (the latter two, played solo) as well as two covers: The Cure’s “Lovesong” and The Beatles “With A Little Help From My Friends,” though time will have to tell if it was more in the Joe Cocker or Ringo Starr vein. “Ophelia” and “Precious Things” both saw their second performances of the tour, the former solo and the latter with strings.
The full setlist, as we understand it, has been posted in the Tour section. We’d appreciate any corrections or confirmation and we’d also love to hear reviews from those lucky enough to be at the show! Please drop us a line using the comment form at the bottom of that page!
Spotify is hosting a sweepstakes, and the prize is tickets to one of Tori’s shows in New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago. In addition, Spotify has track-by-track commentary from Tori on Night of Hunters. Click on through for details.
Askmen.com, a Web magazine for guys, has rated Tori and, through some unexplained ratings system, has given her a 56 for “sexiness” and a 74 for “success,” explaining, “It’s never been Tori’s physicality that’s made her sexy. Instead, it’s her ability to bare her soul in her music, her ability to tap into her emotions, sexuality, fears, anxieties, and insecurities that make her so desirable. Her fiery locks and pillow lips are by no means detractors, but when our dog dies, our bank account empties and The Jonas Brothers break up, it’s Tori’s shoulder that we’ll be looking to cry on, with a hit single entitled ‘My boyfriend’s dog left him and the Jonas Brothers broke up’ to follow.”
Have any other men’s magazines attempted to make Tori appealing to the stereotypical “type of guy who reads men’s magazines?” (Does that type of guy even exist?) This seems like an unusual audience for Tori’s music, and an unusual way of “selling” Tori, but if it helps people find her music, it can’t hurt, right? Thanks to Noah for the link.
Tonight was the first of two shows at Copenhagen’s Royal Theatre — or, if you prefer, København’s Kongelige Teater. While we weren’t able to see the show unfold live, the setlist did find its way through the series of tubes to us — many thanks to choirguy to sending it over and a congratulatory nod of the head to @taxxigirl for her successful pilgrimage tonight!
Tonight’s solo selections included “Edge of the Moon,” “Sister Janet,” “China,” “Cool On Your Island,” “Time,” and, somewhat unexpectedly, the old Australian chestnut, “Waltzing Matilda.” Oiiiii? Meanwhile, back with the Quartett, the usual suspects, such as “Fearlessness,” ““Nautical Twilight,” “Cruel,” “Siren,” “Winter,” and “Carry,” rounded out the concert. “Big Wheel” brought the show to a close.
By now, you all should know the routine! The full setlist is in the Tour section, reviews of the concert can be sent in via the comment form there and we’d love to post your photographs and videos if you took any of either!
Tonight’s show at Sentrum Scene in Oslo is in the books and, thanks to @frokva, we now know what she played. Perhaps most surprising was a cover of A-Ha’s “Take On Me” tucked into the second encore but the set also featured “Little Earthquakes” (which should be more than a little amusing to anyone who was following Violet on our Tweeter during the show), “Spring Haze,” “Daisy Dead Petals” and, another cover, Don McLean’s “Vincent,” all performed solo. Quartet songs of note included “Siren,” “Spark” and “Big Wheel.”
The full setlist has been posted in Tour. We’d love to hear reviews of the performance — please post any using the comment form down there at the bottom of the Oslo page. Photos and video are welcome too! (Don’t mind that we are behind on posting such things for other shows so far this tour — we’ll be pushing through that backlog over the next couple days.)
So, many years on, still making records, each record is never approached casually. It’s not a casual exercise. It’s f**king ferocious. But there’s something quite sexy about it, too. It’s like I’ve heard surfers talk about riding these waves that could really wipe them out and kill them. Well, you know, making records can be like that too.
The Huffington Post’s Mike Ragogna recently chatted with Tori about Night of Hunters, working with master composers, and tricks to developing your identity as a songwriter. Thanks to mgktweety for the link.
