Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
The Metropole Orkest has posted a schedule of their upcoming radio and television appearances and right at the top of the list is their concert with Tori from back in October!
According to them, the concert will be broadcast on Monday, December 20th at 11:00 PM on Radio 6 — which would place it right during the Radio 6 Live program. So, even though the broadcast does not appear to be mentioned anywhere on the website, that seems to fit together nicely…
You can listen to Radio 6 online or, if you’re in the Netherlands, there are a variety of other listening options available as well.
Check here to see what time 11:00 PM in the Netherlands is in your local time zone.
Thanks to Shireen86 for catching this!
The latest Tori Amos newsletter brings the news that another track from From Russia With Love, “Silent All These Years,” is now available for preview — this time via the audio player on Myspace.
Additionally, “Yes, Anastasia” can be freely downloaded on Facebook for an e-mail address and a song…so if you are not a Facebook user and were unable to get the song via sharing, you should be able to get it now.
Also, while we’re on the topic, a few people have asked whether or not From Russia With Love would see a release separate from the TORI camera package. six58 checked with the Tori Store and their response was inconclusive, stating that while the possibility had been discussed and would probably be more likely if the camera sold out, that there were no definite plans to do so at this time.
Finally, folks who ordered the camera are starting to receive them so if you did, keep an eye on your mailbox!
Map The Music, a film produced by Toriphile Samantha Hale that documents the power of music and live performance through the voices of fans, is now is its second pressing! The first run sold out so a second has been produced and is again available from Insound.
The trailer, which was featured on YouTube yesterday, gives a taste of what the film has to offer: insight and interviews with fans and concert-goers plus behind the scenes moments, interviews and performances from Imogen Heap, Cary Brothers, Zoe Keating, Rachael Yamagata, Jim Bianco, Kate Havnevik, Charlotte Martin and many others—including Tori!
Woj Bob says check it out!
Just peeping a quick heads-up that our favorite pro-wrestling Toriphile, Mick Foley, will be on Carson Daly tonight (technically in the wee hours of Saturday morning), and the segment is largely focussed on Tori. Yay!
Want a sample of the From Russia With Love Moscow concert packaged with the TORI Camera? Hie thee over to Facebook to get, in exchange for subscribing to the the Tori Amos newsletter, a free download of Tori’s performance of “Josephine” from that evening and share the news via Facebook to unlock a stream “Yes, Anastasia” from the same concert.
The limited edition “TORI” camera set with the “From Russia With Love…” double live CD we told you about last week is ON SALE NOW.
Let the madness begin! At $185 buckaroos with only 2000 available, it’ll go fast.
Also, in case you haven’t already noticed, toriamos.com has been redesigned and relaunched. The new site is quite nice! Clean and simple and well-organized! They’re still working on getting everything updated and spiffed up so keep an eye out over there!
Producer Jeymes Samuel (The Gorillaz, KT Tunstall) has a new musical project called the Bullitts and he’s enlisted a slew of exciting artists for the Bullitt’s next album, They Die By Dawn And Other Short Stories. Tori will join Samuel on the release, along with Roisin Murphy, Passion Pit, Mos Def, and actress Lucy Liu. Both NME and Wears the Trousers have confirmed the collaboration, though the articles are short on details about Tori’s contribution just yet. In the meantime, you can check out other tracks from The Bullitts — including the Lucy Liu single, “Close Your Eyes,” over on vimeo. Thanks to Marco and Lucie for sending this in!
Some of you may remember waaaaaay back in 2003 when Tori toured with Ben Folds on the Lottapianos tour. Well, Ben snapped this cute photo of Tash, likely on that tour. Tomorrow in Washington, D.C., he’ll discuss this photo and others in a talk with photographer Mark Seliger sponsored by National Geographic Live. It’s part of a series of talks called “Music On… Photography,” featuring different musicians who also do some great work behind the lens.
Jake Brown, the author of a series of books called “In the Studio,” has written a book focusing on Tori Amos. Each book visits a different musician (Rick Rubin, Motorhead, and Kanye West have all been featured) in the studio, and describes the recording process. Brown’s style is pretty readable, despite the technical details he packs into these books. Tori Amos: In the Studio is available for pre-order now, and is scheduled for release May 1, 2011. Thanks to MiMi for the tip.
