Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Five years ago today, our fearless leader Violet ushered in the post-Mikewhy era of the online Toriverse with the very first story on Undented!
Half a decade, 2,367 articles and zero layout changes later, we’re still kicking thanks to all of you: the folks who read and visit the site—whether daily or occasionally and whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or are a recent newcomer—and those who have sent in anything from news tips and links to concert reviews and photographs to LOLTORIs. All of you have helped to make Undented what it is today and we can’t thank you enough.
Even more importantly though, the Undented team—Violet, Ruud, Beth, and myself—appreciate your support over these past five years. We couldn’t do it without that and we wouldn’t have done it for any other fans.
Thanks from the bottoms of our fairy-winged hearts!
Only one show goes on sale today, Monday May 9th: the concert in Copehagen Denmark at Det Kongelige Teater. Tickets go on sale through BILLETnet at 10:00 AM CEST. You can also call BILLETnet at +45 7015 6565. The theatre’s box office also appears to sell tickets by phone starting at 10:00 AM CEST — call +45 3369 6969 to try that option.
After the general sale for the October 17th show at Theatre Carré in Amsterdam reportedly sold out within a hour this morning, a second show at at the theatre was added for the following date, October 18th. It is not listed at Carré’s website but is at Ticketmaster. Tickets for the second show are presumably are also available through Carré’s box office as they were for the first show.
Three shows on go on sale today, Friday, May 6th: Oslo, Antwerp and Brussels.
Oslo tickets go on sale at billetservice.no at 9:00 AM CEST. ToriAmos.com indicates this is a venue pre-sale, but there is no mention of this on either Sentrum Scene’s website or Billetservice.no.
The Antwerp show is not listed at either the venue’s website or the listed ticket vendor yet. However, ToriAmos.com provides an event link which one assumes will go live once the sale starts. No sale time is given at ToriAmos.com but Live Nation indicates that the sale starts at 9:00 AM CEST.
Finally, the Brussels show is listed at Bozar’s website. Tickets go on sale at 10:00 CEST. The ticket vendor, clic & com isn’t live yet but, again, should be at the sale time.
Finally, all three shows are listed at Live Nation, so that is another site to keep an eye on, though it looks like tickets for these shows will not actually be on sale at Live Nation — their links will just lead to the actual ticket vendor.
Note that Live Nation has the Oslo show going on sale on Saturday, May 7th, consistent with the general sale reported by ToriAmos.com but it looks very likely that tickets will be on sale on Friday.
Confusingly. Live Nation has two listings for each of the Belgian shows. This is because each venue is listed under both its Dutch and French names. either listing should lead to the correct purchase page.
Good luck if you’re buying tickets for any of these shows!
A newsletter has gone out to the e-mail newsletter announcing the new record. In it, we learn that the upcoming album, Night of Hunters, will be released in September on Deutsche Grammaphon and includes the following description of the record from Tori:
“It’s a 21st century song cycle inspired by classical music themes spanning over 400 years. I have used the structure of a song cycle to tell an ongoing, modern story. The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter. One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us.”
That text comes from the press release for the record which is reproduced for your reading pleasure below the cut.
Good things come to those who wait!
ToriAmos.com has announced that Tori’s new album will be called Night of Hunters and that she will be touring this Fall in support of it!
So far, there are only announced dates are in Europe, starting in Helsinki, Finland in late September and stretching through early November with a date in Dublin, Ireland. However, the press release for the record indicates that there will be a swing through North America following the European leg.
The complete list of shows (so far, we hope) are below the cut and have been added to the Tour section where we’ll add ticket purchase links, venue information and other tidbits as we come across them.
Note: many go on sale WEDNESDAY, MAY 5TH!
A third possible tour date has snuck out into the world: earlier today, Gigs In Scotland, a Scottish (surprise!) concert website, added a listing for a performance at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on Sunday, November 6th. Tickets are said to go on sale this Friday, May 13th at 9:00 AM local time.
Not long after that listing was added, Stereoboard, a UK concert website, tweeted that Tori would be touring the UK in November, promising dates and ticket details soon. As of yet, they’ve not mentioned anything else either on their Twitter feed or website.
Finally, the Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam has added Tori to their calendar with a concert date on Monday, October 17th. Ticket prices are listed and are said to be going on-sale on Saturday, May 7th at 10:00 AM.
So signs are clearly pointing towards a tour this Fall though there is, as of yet, still no confirmation from official sources. However, it is worth mentioning that a venue listing a date is really the next best thing to the performer doing so…
Update: The listing has been removed from parter.ru but is still shown on concert.ru and kassir.ru.
According to ticket vendors parter.ru and concert.ru, Tori will be returning to Russia for a second appearance in as many years at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall on Sunday, October 2nd.
Both agencies are selling tickets to the performance now and you can even select seats directly at parter.ru. However, as with the Vienna date, neither Tori’s management nor the venue have confirmed this concert yet so take that into consideration before making a decision to purchase tickets. Hopefully, though, there will be an official announcement about this apparent Autumn tour soon so those kinds of questions and concerns can be put to rest.
UPDATE: We have it on good authority that In The Studio is no more than a collection of previously published interviews. If you’ve kept up with the press on Tori, it’s probably nothing new for you.
Surprise! Jake Brown’s book on Tori, In the Studio, was due out in May, but it was released a little bit early and is available now. According to Independent Media Magazine,
The book will have interviews with people who had the fortune of working with Amos in the studio, including producers, sound engineers and band members.
It goes in to detail album by album of Amos’.
Brown also touches on Amos’ artistic process, which should intrigue everyone to finally see what inspires all her intense songs.
Thanks to Vinny and blindhope for letting us know!
Update: The listing has been removed. We assume this means that oeticket.com was just a little premature in posting it and that tickets will be on sale again once the show is properly announced.
Just over a week ago, Ticketone, a European ticketing vendor, posted an announcement on their Slovak website that Tori would be playing at Vienna’s Stadthalle on October 25th. While that announcement has since been removed, Austrian ticket vendor oeticket.com, which TicketOne indicated was the source for the information they posted, has since added a listing for the show on that date and appears to be selling some tickets to the concert (in the middle rear and right side of the orchestra).
While there still hasn’t been any indication that Tori will be performing live this year from official sources, this date does fit nicely into the Europe in October/North America in November timeframe CharityBuzz alleged when contacted about the ticket auction they held earlier this year. And although Wiener Stadthalle does not list this performance in their calendar, they did say that Tori would be playing the venue in the Autumn but did not provide any further details.
Given previous ticket sale snafus before concerts were officially announced, we’re not sure that we would recommend purchasing tickets just yet but it does seem likely that this show is happening.
