Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Tori will be playing a special one-night solo engagement — Acoustically Attracted To Sin — at the Savoy Theatre in London on Monday, April 27, 2009. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 3rd, at 9am at Ambassador Tickets.
We have yet to put this on the Tour page, and we don’t really have any more details yet. Just wanted to get this out there ASAP.
Thanks to Parker and Stéphane for sending this in.
Lest anyone think that we here at Undented are only about dusty, cobwebby old media, we hasten to point out that bloggers had their fingers in the SXSW pie (so to speak) as well.
While heavy-weight Brooklyn Vegan appears to have ignored Tori since the publication of Comic book Tattoo, Stereogum posted about the show, generating the usual quota of comments for and against Ms. Amos. Somewhat less known music blogs Music Justice and Have You Heard also attended the show and had good things to say about Tori’s performance.
Perhaps most interestingly though, Ann Powers, who helps co-wrote Piece by Piece with Tori, blogged about her SXSW experience and devoted several paragraphs to the showcase:
LiveDaily reviewed Tori’s showcase at SXSW in most favorable terms. Make sure to swing by their website for a slideshow of rather nice close-up photos taken at the show too. Thanks to orfeo for the link!
SXSW Review: Tori Amos at La Zona Rosa
Published March 20, 2009 03:03 PM
By Jon Zahlaway / LiveDaily Senior Writer
Tori Amos would have had the crowd at La Zona Rosa eating out of the palm of her hand Thursday night (3/19)—if not for the fact that both of her hands were far too busy doing other things during her stellar performance.
As we know, Spinner was in attendance at Tori’s showcase set at SXSW last night and they posted this short review in the wee hours of this morning… Thanks to Ash-Blaize for the link!
Tori Amos Seduces SXSW
“It’ good to see some familiar faces,” Tori Amos said from the stage at her SXSW performance Thursday night at Austin’s La Zona Rosa. “I’ve missed you guys.” Judging by the wealth of screams and flashing bulbs — not to mention an unabashedly enthusiastic introduction by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton — the feeling was mutual.
Tori’s SXSW showcase is in the books. She played for just about a hour (typical for this sort of thing) and did not do an encore. Three songs from the new album made an appearance — “Lady in Blue,” “Curtain Call,” and “Mary Jane” — as well as some old chestnuts and a few from her more recent releases. Check out the full setlist and, if you were there, feel free to let everyone know what you thought of the show.
Many thanks to the folks posting the setlist to Twitter and the usual suspects for keeping us appraised of the happenings at La Zona Rosa!
It’s official. Tori will play La Zona Rosa on Thursday, March 19, 2009 as part of the Universal Republic Records showcase.
Once again, we want to remind people that this is a showcase, entrance is extremely limited (we cannot stress this enough), and scrambling to get tickets will most likely be in vain. If you aren’t already in, chances are, you won’t be. Please do not call the venue and pester them; they won’t be able to help you.
If all goes well, we hope to provide a setlist and reviews on the day.
Thanks to Darrell for the link and a li’l tip of the hat to ash blaize for keeping hope alive.
And just like that, Tori has been removed from the SXSW schedule on my.SXSW. What does that mean? Who really knows? Doesn’t mean that it’s not happening but then, we never really knew if it was happening since early SXSW lineups do tend to go through a lot of shifts and changes. If we were to guess though, it probably wasn’t meant to be public knowledge yet…or even semi-public knowledge for registered conference attendees. We’re sure it’ll all be made clear eventually. Just like Exit 75.
In the media and music world, March Madness does not mean college basketball. It means the annual South by Southwest conference in Austin, TX. Today, SXSW launched my.SXSW, a social networking and scheduling tool for registered attendees. Among other things, my.SXSW includes a more complete listing of performers than what is publically posted and several people, including Jessie Frye, wrote in to let us know that Tori is on that list.
While this is far from a confirmed performance by any means as SXSW showcase schedules are as fluid as water, Tori is currently slated to be playing at La Zona Rosa on Thursday, March 19th.
Before you go buy a plane ticket to Austin, be advised that this is an official SXSW showcase and those with conference badges and wristbands will have preferential entry to the venue. If past showcases by premiere artists is any indication (i.e., R.E.M. last year), few if any walk-ups will be able to purchase a ticket to get in.
Of course, if you’re one of the lucky ones already going to SXSW and Tori does play, we’ll be counting on you to let everyone know what happens!
In her first public performance since the conclusion of last year’s American Doll Posse tour, Tori took the stage at the Dranouter Festival in Belgium tonight, playing solo for the first time since 2005. The set included several classics such as “Crucify,” “Silent All These Years,” and “Precious Things” as well as the relative rarity “Apollo’s Frock.” She also performed a new song based on “Body & Soul” — we’re looking for more details but it’s reportedly the same or similar music with new lyrics. The full setlist, thanks to the twittering of scarydan and notes from Mikey and Melanie has been posted in the Tour section. If you were there an want to let everyone know what you thought, please use the contact form at the bottom of that page.
Are you near Belgium with nothing to do? Go see Tori at the Dranouter Festival! She’s on at 22:30 CEST so look for the setlist and reviews from people who were there later today. (And, if you do go, make sure you get there in time for Värttinä who will be on right before Tori — they have the woj-bob Seal of Approval!)
Are you near Los Angeles with nothing to do? Head on down to Golden Apple Comics in Hollywood at 6:00 PM PDT for the big Comic Book Tattoo release party. Rantz and a number of the book’s creators, including Ted McKeever, David Mack, Mark Sable, Dame Darcy and many others, will be signing, sketching and causing a general ruckus. There’ll be free CBT logo temporary tattoos, food and drink and an auction benefiting the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Some of the items on the block are a copy of the Boys for Pele tour program Rantz designed, two of the limited BEA prints, some of the limited SDCC prints and other surprises as well. If you can make it, head on down and support a great cause!
And if you’re anywhere else in the world with nothing to do, you’re on your own!
