Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
The first few YouTube videos from Sunday’s performance at the Caprices Festival have started to show up. All that we’ve found so far, including “Take To The Sky,” “Personal Jesus”/“Body and Soul,” and “Mountain,” have been added to the Caprices page in the Tour section.
Additionally, some reviews and other media bitsies have appeared elsewhere.
Caprices’ media-partner 20 Minutes has posted a partial clip of “Bouncing Off Clouds” from the concert and an interview clip done at the festival on the video portal. A few photographs from the concert can also be found buried in 20 Minutes’ Caprices slideshow. Thanks to Mandy for the tip on those!
Music block Rock Subculture is on the ground at the festival and have posted a review of the entire Sunday evening program. The review is quite glowing but, perhaps of more interest to most of us, it includes a slew of photographs from the concert. Thanks to mkgtweety for sending us that link!
Update: Le Nouvelliste has a photo gallery from the festival where a few more shots of Tori’s performance can be found. Thanks again to Mandy!
More as other stuff pops up!
Tori’s performance at the Caprices Festival in Switzerland is in the books. Thanks to @luiscueto, who kindly tweeted from the show, the full setlist is up in the Tour section already.
The one-off concert was, unsurprisingly, a solo performance that featured “Take To The Sky” including the “room in my heart” bridge from “Datura,” “Little Earthquakes,” “Putting The Damage On,” and the rarely-played “Mountain” in the encore! The set was also rife with covers from her hallmark rendition of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” to, joining “Mountain” in the encore, The Cure’s “Lovesong” and U2’s “Running To Stand Still.”
We’d love to hear the thoughts and reviews of those who were at the show! If you were and would like to share, please post a review using the comment form at the bottom of the setlist’s page.
Lest anyone forget, Tori will be in concert at the Caprices Festival in Crans-Montana, Switerland this weekend! The one-off solo performance takes place Sunday, March 10th at La Luna (The Moon).
Also on the bill are the Israeli singer Noa and Roger Hodgson, whom some may remember as a member of Supertramp — not a bad line-up at all!
Doors for the show open at 6:00 PM and the concert is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM CET. Tori’s headling so she should be on a hour or two after that.
Hope that everyone who is travelling to Crans-Montana for the show has a safe trip and enjoys the performance! If anyone who is going would like to text us the setlist or will be posting it on Twitter, please let us know!
According to ToriAmos.com and the recently-announced program for the 2013 Caprices Festival, Tori will be performing at this Swiss festival on Sunday, March 10th. The festival takes place in the Swiss Alps, at the ski resort of Crans-Montana.
Tickets are on sale now via the festival’s website.
Tonight saw the brief but brilliant Gold Dust Orchestral Tour come to a close at Berlin’s Philharmonie. After the one night in Warsaw without them, Tori was rejoined by the Metropole Orkest for the final performance of the tour so, nce again, the full set was played.
There were few variations though. “Upside Down” was the solo song during the first half of the concert. A second solo song, “Mr. Zebra,” was played during the second half of the show. “Leather” and “Silent All These Years” swapped locations in the setlist. Finally, during the encore, Tori added a solo rendition of “So Long, Farewell” from The Sound of Music.
The full setlist, thanks to the fine and appreciated efforts of @movemeantTO, has been posted in the Tour section…along with the parody setlist we posted to Twitter as the show unfolded. (Laughs not guaranteed; no song girls were harmed in the making of the parody setlist; your mileage will vary; contents packed by weight not by volume and may have settled during shipping.) (Hey, we’re not comedians but we play them on the Internet.)
If you were at the final show and would like to share your thoughts on the evening, we’d love to have them posted. Please leave a review via the comment form and we’ll get it added soon as we can.
Finally, thanks, as always, to the tweeters and reviewers and commentators and videographers and photographers and everyone who has helped us to cover these shows. We couldn’t do it without you and we truly appreciate your contributions, Thank you very very much!
Tonight was the penultimate concert in the Gold Dust Orchestral Tour, at Warsaw’s Sala Kongresowa. Unlike the other dates on the tour, this one was not with the Metropole Orkest; rather, Tori performed with the Polish Radio Orchestra. The concert followed the same script as the others though with one solo song, “Merman,” during the first half of the show and an intermission.
The full setlist, thanks to the tweeterific efforts of @baziau and @movemeantTO, is up in the Tour section. If you were there and would like to share your thoughts on the performance, we’d love to hear from you — just use the comment form and we’ll get them posted as quickly as can be. Hopefully, some video and photographs will surface as well.
Just a quick note to let folks know that the setlist for tonight’s Infinity Hall Live taping at the intimate and lovely Inifnity Music Hall in Norfolk, CT has been posted in the Tour section. The setlist was very similar to that for the NPR webcast as Tori as again joined by the string octet (which she introduced as, if I remember correctly, “The Jammin’ Groovin’ Octet”). The songs with accompaniment by the octet were the same but there were a few changes for the solo songs.
The date that this episode of Infinity Hall Live will be aired is not known yet but the host of the evening announced from the stage before the performance that it would be part of the show’s second season which is slated to start in June 2013. So, we’ll have a little bit of a wait before we all get the chance to see it.
If you were there and would like to share your impression of the evening with Undented’s readership, we’d love to have to hear from you! The comment form at the bottom of the page for the show is your friend and ours!
Update: Audio of last night’s webcast is now streaming at NPR Music. There’s also a nice slideshow of photographs by Ebru Yildiz and an article by Ann Powers to introduce performance.
Just got back home from (le) poisson rouge where Tori performed with a string octet this evening. The concert was webcast by NPR Music so, on the assumption that folks would be able to listen in live, we didn’t tweet the show — although Ann Powers, who introduced the performance and also interviewed Tori before the show, did. However, word is that many people had choppy audio/video so it is fortunate that NPR will be archiving this webcast, presumably along with that interview, in their Live in Concert in the next few days.
Jump the cut if you want to see the setlist — or hold off if you want to be surprised once the archive is available. It’s all about you, baby.
The curtain has fallen on Tori and The Metropole Orkest at the Royal Albert Hall in London tonight, bringing the first half of the Gold Dust Orchestral Tour to an end. The two set performance followed the same script as the previous nights, with “Ribbons Undone” as the single solo “fairy song” during the first half — probably a nod to her daughter who was in the audience this evening. It was preceeded by an improvisation centered on the phrase “when she calls my name.”
The full setlist, with thanks to @AnnabelJameson and @icingboy, has been posted in the Tour section. If you were at the show, we’d love to hear what you thought of it! If you’d like to share your thoughts, please use the comment form there. And make sure to keep an eye on that page for pictures and video and ponies. Yup, ponies.
The Orchestral Tour takes a short break as Tori heads back to the States for the NPR webcast on Friday and the Infinity Hall Live taping on Monday before picking back up in Warsaw on Saturday, October 13th. We’ll probably hang out on Twitter to chat with folks on Friday during the webcast and I’ll be at Infinity Hall so I will try to live-tweet the taping myself — barring roving bands of bouncers patrolling the Infinity Hall aisles, confiscating cell phones, of course. (Hmmm…Monday sure would be a good time for that telepathic Twitter client to go into beta…)
The second night of The Gold Dust Orchestral Tour, at Bozar in Brussels, Belgium, is in the books.
With the gracious help of @Markec who live-tweeted the show, we were able to post the setlist in real-time on our Twitter and in the Tour section. As many suspected might happen, the performance followed the same setlist as the evening before in Rotterdam — as Tori has pointed out in many recent interviews, improvising with an orchestra is difficult and sometimes it’s best to just ride the dragon.
However, there was one divergence from the previous evening’s setlist: the single solo performance in the first half of the show. Tonight, the “fairy song,” as they’re denoted on the printed setlist, was “Here. In My Head.”
If you were at the show and are so-inclined, please post a review on the Brussels concert page. As always, we’ll get photos and videos posted there as they come in.
