Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Tori is doing M&Gs on the Gold Dust Orchestral Tour. If you’re planning to go to one, be sure to check out our Meet And Greet Info page.
Worldwide, Toriphile eyes and ears were aimed at Rotterdam this evening as Tori Amos and The Metropole Orkest performed together at de Doelen, their first performance together since 2010’s one-off concert in Amsterdam that planted the seeds of what would eventually grow into the Gold Dust Orchestral Tour.
As one might expect, the meat of the performance was taken from Gold Dust, the collaboration between Tori and The Metropole just released this week, but there were several surprises including “Hey Jupiter,” “Edge of the Moon,” “Our New Year,” and a solo performance of “Purple People.”
Thanks to the TWitterific efforts of @NicotineLove and @MarianneRoseP, the setlist has been posted in the Tour section. Take a peek if you want to see what else was included in the concert and, if you were fortunate enough to be there and care to, please post a review using the form there. We’ll also be posting any concert photos and videos that people elect to share — if you have any, please let us know and we’ll get them added!
Speaking of photos, CB Images has posted a gallery of shots from the show which are really quite excellent. (Mmmmmm glasses.)
The five-night Gold Dust Orchestra tour kicks off Monday night in Rotterdam with dates in Brussels, London, Warsaw and Berlin to follow and, snuggled in between London on October 3rd and Warsaw on October 13th, a foray back to the United States for a couple special non-orchestral performances in New York and Connecticut.
We’ve been informed that the orchestral shows will start promptly at the listed times and, as there will be no opener, being on-time is strongly recommended. The performances will include a 20 minute intermission.
As always, we’ll be doing our best to cover the shows as they happen on our Twitter. Unfortunately, we won’t be in Europe but several people have said they will be trying to live-tweet setlists so, hopefully, we will all be able to follow along as it happens…but at the very least, we’ll be getting setlists, reviews, and so forth posted in the Tour section after-the-fact. if you can help with setlists, let us know!
We hope all who are attending these performance enjoy them! Wish we were there!
NPR will be presenting Tori in concert on Friday, October 5th at Poisson Rouge in New York City. The special performance, hosted by Ann Powers, will be webcast by NPR and archived as well.
Tickets are not being sold for this concert — rather, they be given away via ToriAmos.com and local NPR radio station WFUV. You can register to win a pair of tickets from ToriAmos.com at this webpage. (Note: that page says the concert is October 6th, but the correct date is the 5th.) We’re guessing that WFUV wll be giving tickets away to their members via their Member Line so keep an eye there and an ear on the broadcasts for more information about that.
Tori will be doing a taping for the Connecticut Public Television program Infinity Hall Live on Monday, October 8th at Infinity Hall in Norfolk, Connecticut. Limited tickets for this intimate venue are on sale now via the Infinity Hall box office.
Update: the performance is sold out!
La Première is running a contest to win a pair of tickets to Tori’s October 2nd concert at Bozar in Brussels. To enter, fill out the form at that link.
Please note: the drawing is open only to Belgians.
While there are still a few tickets available for the London stop on the Gold Dust Orchestral Tour at Royal Albert Hall, the venue is giving away a pair of stalls tickets to the show.
To enter the drawing for the tickets, e-mail competition@royalalberthall.com your name, contact number and the answer to this hopefully simple question: “What is the name of the new Tori Amos album, due for release on 1 October 2012?”
Entries must be received by 12 Noon British time on Friday, September 21st. The winner will be picked at random from all entries and tickets will be held for them at the box office to be picked up on the day of the show.
Good luck!
As many will recall, the early Gold Dust press indicated that an extremely limited number of orchestral concerts would take place in Europe and the US. However, any mention of US shows was later removed from the official site, the album site, etc., giving many pause about the possibility of those shows. Subsequently, we’ve gotten more than a few inquiries about when North American dates on the Gold Dust Orchestral Tour would be announced.
Unfortunately, we’ve gotten confirmation, presumably due to some combination of cost and logistics, that there will be no additional orchestral dates, either in North America or Europe. The five European shows that have been announced — Rotterdam, Brussels, London, Warsaw and Berlin, for which tickets are already on sale — will be the only shows Tori will be doing with an orchestra to support the record.
Needless to say, we’re disappointed to both hear and report this news. Hopefully at least some of those waiting for North American dates will be able to go to Europe…and before anyone asks, we’ve heard nothing about the possibility of a solo tour.
Sorry guys, absolutely no advance warning on this…
Two new tour dates were added, one for Berlin, which is unfortunately ON SALE NOW. (Sorry, you’ll need to search, the direct link we have keeps showing up wonky.)
The other newly added show is London, which goes on sale June 22nd at 9am. It’s 1:45am here, so our apologies for this being rushed and not very detailed. Just wanted to get something up as quickly as possible.
Update: Ticketmaster has added a listing for the London show, with an O2 Priority presale starting tomorrow, Wednesday, June 20th at 9:00 AM BST. The general sale still starts at 9:00 AM BST on Friday as does an American Express sale. (The AMEX sale has been removed from the Ticketmaster listing.)
Note: last time, there was a special link available from ToriAmos.com which allowed people to purchase tickets from pool of good seats set aside for fans. We don’t know if this will happen again but keep an eye on the tour listing at ToriAmos.com just in case it does.
While not yet confirmed by the tour listing on ToriAmos.com, ticket vendor Eventim indicates that Tori will be performing at the Berliner Philharmonie in Berlin, Germany on October 15th. Eventim does mention that the concert will be the exclusive German stop for the orchestral tour. No ticket sale information is yet available at either Eventim or the venue’s website.
