Greetings from Lake Tahoe! I’m on vacation in the Sierras and my connection is crap, but this needs to get up and the other editors are unavailable at the moment. I haven’t been able to pull any of the videos up from here, so I’m going to keep this short and sweet with no fancy stuff.
Tori is featured on AOL’s Artist Spotlight today with 6 new videos.
If you can’t play those videos, try the full sessions video.
Thanks to Kelly Reeves, Jamee, Damien and Kory Beaton.
Update: Added the six video clips from AOL Music. The interview video clips and Inside Story article are still only available in the session itself.
Fordham University’s WFUV is celebrating Tori tomorrow (Thursday) with a whole bevy of programs, including extensive airplay of her songs, an interview with Tori by Rita Houston, and an in-studio performance from Ms. Amos. If you are in the New York City area, tune your FM radio to 90.7 MHz; non-local fans and those whose reception is blocked by the Empire State Building can listen online.
Update: The interview can be streamed from WFUV in Windows Media format.
All this month, you can catch the 1992 version of Tori on Later With Jools Holland on On Demand. The show opens with Tori and Jools sitting side-by-side at the piano, jamming [along with several other musicians] on the rockabilly intro. Other guests include Matthew Sweet and Morrissey. Tori sings “Me And A Gun.”
Boy, this brings back memories!
The program is under Music > concert.tv > Later with Jools > Tori Amos & Others and is available through May 31.
Good catch, Rita.
Chicago Public Radio’s program Sound Opinions reviewed American Doll Posse this week, including a clip of “Secret Spell” and all of “Big Wheel.” (They seemed to really like the album.) The podcast isn’t online yet, but it’ll be at the link, above, when it is. Thanks, Lisa!
Philippe M told us that EuroNews.net has a short video interview with Tori up on their website. The sound is a bit garbled, but Tori is far more relaxed than she is in most interviews. But … are they really interviewing her in a … is that a … parking lot?
Or perhaps c) unwitting victim of Rollingstone.com’s Unfunniest Caption Contest.
Thanks to Brian the Truck Driver and roel.
Even though Tori’s Studio 360 broadcast mostly turned out to be a repeat of the appearance she made when she was promoting A Piano, some of you may have missed it. Click the link to listen. Thanks to Jeanette for sending it in!
Alison attended the taping of the Graham Norton show on Wednesday. Alison says, “Tori came out in a one shoulder very sparkly, cute dress with the red wig on. She sat with Graham and Gérard Depardieu and talked.”
The show gets edited down for TV, but this is what was discussed:
This show’s gonna be aired in the UK in about 25 minutes (15-minute extended time repeat tomorrow night sorry, SUNDAY night), so what are you doing reading this? Go get some popcorn and turn it on!
Tori will be on Star! Daily today in Canada.
TORI UNCOVERED
Tori Amos is at the forefront of female singer/songwriters and an icon to a generation of women. But ever since the birth of her daughter, Tori (in her own words) has “put down her tomahawk” and approached her art in a different way. “Star! Daily’s” Husein Madhavji uncovers the five personas Tori uses to express her view of the world on her latest album American Doll Posse.
Star!, A-Channel, and Citytv will air the show at different times in different areas. Check your local listings by going to the websites, selecting your city (on some pages, it’s on the entry page, on others it’s in the bottom right corner), and then clicking on “TV schedule” in the top links bar.
