Show & Tell With Radcliffe and Maconie

    Friday, July 06, 2007 | 12:02 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie are listing Tori as an upcoming guest on their BBC Radio 2 program on Tuesday, July 17th. Tori’s appearance is specified as “Show & Tell With Tori Amos”. We’re not sure what that means but, judging from the past playlists, it appears that it’s one of those play-a-track and tell-us-why-you-played it. (I’ve got 5 quid on Led Zep to win, Joni Mitchell to place, and Carole King to show.) Then again, maybe she’ll talk about wig mechanics! In any case, tune in to Radio 2 at 8pm British Daylight Time to find out!

Thanks to Alexander’s Psychiatry for the tip!

    Werchter Festival Streaming Live

    Sunday, July 01, 2007 | 19:56 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring,TV/Radio/Web

The Werchter Festival, where Tori is playing today, is being streamed online.

Update: Tori’s set at Werchter will be webcast! Her set begins at 11:30 PM local time on the Pyramid Marquee stage. (That’s 5:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time, and 2:30 PM Pacific Daylight Time for the North Americans … and sometime tomorrow for the Australians and New Zealanders.)

Update: Despite saying that they were going to stream it, they don’t seem to be doing so… :-(

Update: The stream kicked in for the last half of the final song: “Precious Things”. Woo hoo!

    ADP At Promosquad Prize Store

    Wednesday, June 27, 2007 | 23:02 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,TV/Radio/Web

Jessika tells us that American Doll Posse is one of the prizes currently available at the Promosquad Prize Store. Rate enough songs to rack up 2500 points and it’s yours! Here’s what they have to say about Tori and the album:

Firing across the American psychological, social, and political landscape, Tori takes on the state of the world, war, and feminism. To help her, she adopts five personas—her American Doll Posse—who take their characteristics from Greek gods, but not their names: Clyde, Pip, Isabel, Santa, and Tori. You need a scorecard to keep track, but don’t worry – it’s still classic Tori Amos!

    Start rating!

The Concert For RAINN on Australian Television

    Wednesday, June 27, 2007 | 14:09 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

ABC2 in Australia will be rebroadcasting Tori Amos: Live At Madison Square Garden on Sunday, July 1st at 11:00 AM local time. Judging by the program schedule, this looks to be the hour-long Lifetime broadcast of The Concert For RAINN. (It was also aired yesterday, Tuesday, June 26th on ABC, for those of you with time machines.) Thanks to Nath for the tip!

    Budapest Concert Broadcast

    Sunday, June 24, 2007 | 21:48 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

This concert preview, from Népszabadság Online, the website for one of Hungary’s biggest newspapers, mentions that today’s show in Budapest is being filmed for a television broadcast. If anyone can provide more details, presumably once they become available, please let us know. Thanks to Maddict for pointing this out.

    Tori In The Finnish Media

    Saturday, June 23, 2007 | 20:19 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Thanks to Norna, who posted about this on @forumz: Finnish television station YLE is streaming much of the Provinssirock festival on the web, including a large portion of Tori’s performance. Tori’s set starts around the 1 hour mark of the stream on this page while YLE’s interview with Tori is at the start of the stream on this second page.

Unfortunately for people not in Finland, the streams are only available for Finnish viewers. Fortunately for folks not in Finland, there is YouTube where drtbn has posted “Cornflake Girl” from the set.

That video has been added to the Provinssirock concert page, where any other clips from the YLE recording will be posted as well if they should surface (nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more!).

MTV3, another Finnish television station, reported on the Provinssirock festival as well, mentioning Tori as being one of the main attractions of the festival this year, as it was her first performance in Finland. Tori says one thing during the clip: “My shows are very theatrical so I think they suit a confined space where people are taken on a journey. You can do it in a massive space.” A clip of Tori performing “Cruel” is show. Stream the report in Windows Media.

    "Big Wheel" on On Demand

    Monday, June 11, 2007 | 21:41 UTC | Posted by Beth | TV/Radio/Web

Comcast On Demand is offering subscribers the chance to watch the video for “Big Wheel.” Many of you have already spotted this on your home systems, but thanks to Ingrid and Valyum for sending it our way.

    Düsseldorf Radio Broadcast

    Thursday, June 07, 2007 | 04:43 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

UPDATE: Sprk checked with Antenne this morning and it appears there was a misunderstanding: the broadcast was actually of people being interviewed at the show, not the show itself. “Cornflake Girl” was also played, though it’s not clear if this was the studio version or a live recording. The station also confirmed that they did not have a recording of the show after all.

According to J@ckiiee, the radio station Antenne Düsseldorf will be broadcasting some of the concert sometime during the day on Thursday, June 7th. She learned this from station staff who were at the concert who interviewed her. There is no information about this on Antenne’s website but we are hoping to get some more information soon.

For those not in the station’s broadcast range, they stream live on the web as well in Windows Media. Just click on the Internet-Stream Starten link.

    Box Set On The VSPOT

    Friday, May 25, 2007 | 03:14 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Everyone lamenting not being able to listen to the Rhapsody interview should head on over to VH1’s VSPOT to check out the video Box Set that they have posted. The set includes several recent interview clips about everything from the new record to Y Kant Tori Read, punctuated with several of Tori’s videos and the Live @ VH1 session.

The whole thing is in Flash so it should work out better for everyone — not just Americans using Winders!

Note: fixed the link. The one that was there before worked last night! Honest!

    The Rhapsody Interview

    Tuesday, May 22, 2007 | 02:45 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Rhapsody, RealNetwork’s digital music service, has scored an exclusive interview with Tori about American Doll Posse. As they put it:

On American Doll Posse, the flame-haired chanteuse created five personas based on goddesses in Greek mythology and sculpted her body into supermodel proportions for the CD sleeve. In this exclusive interview she tells us exactly how she did it, why her husband was the right man and who exactly is the real Tori Amos.

The nine-track interview can be streamed for free but requires the installation of Rhapsody’s music software to do so. Additionally, the free flavor of Rhapsody only allows for 25 free plays per month, so use them wisely….
