    Tori On The Tonight Show

    Friday, September 28, 2007 | 01:07 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Although we added Tori’s upcoming appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to the Calendar when EverythingTori confirmed it earlier this month, we were remiss in posting the confirmation in a regular news article so some may have missed it. So, just to make sure there is no confusion….

Tori and the band will be Leno’s musical guest on The Tonight Show on Monday, October 1st.

The Tonight Show airs at 11:35 PM Eastern/Pacific (10:35 PM Central/Mountain) on NBC — but it never hurts to check your local listings. International viewers should also keep an eye out since the program can be watched outside of the States as well. Undoubtedly, the performance will show up on YouTube as well.

    Tuesday, September 25, 2007 | 21:13 UTC | Posted by Beth | TV/Radio/Web

Sony/BMG is now featuring a new two-part interview with Tori, plus the “Bouncing Off Clouds” video — head on over to check them out. Thanks to a_sorta_litesneeze for the tip!

Update: Naturally, these have surfaced on YouTube as well, thanks to ribbonsoflithium.

    Triple J Interview on JTV

    Saturday, September 22, 2007 | 15:57 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Although the schedule doesn’t show it yet, we’ve heard from Kelli and others that Tori’s chat with Robbie Buck on Top Shelf was filmed and will be broadcast on jtv on Friday, September 28th. Jtv, which is a visual peek into the world of Triple J radio, airs late on Friday nights right before rage. Check your local listings for the exact time in your area. If you miss it or live outside of ABC’s broadcast range (say, perhaps, in Vanuatu), the interview should be available for download next Saturday.

Incidentally, while I have your attention, the audio of Tori’s appearance on Top Shelf can be downloaded as a mp3 from Triple J’s website. Interviews will fall off their archive eventually so grab it while you can!

Update: Ursula points out that the 1998 Richard Kingsmill interview (transcript from The Dent) referenced during the Top Shelf appearance is also available as a mp3 download from Triple J. This awkward, yet amusing, interview is a intersting listen and study in the contrast and interaction between the media and the artist. Good stuff and thanks for reminding us of it!

    Tori's Appearance on Sunrise

    Friday, September 14, 2007 | 12:58 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori was the musical guest on Australian television program Sunrise this morning. She performed two songs, “Roosterspur Bridge” and “Taxi Ride”, and also sat down for a chat with hosts Melissa Doyle and David Koch during which they discussed the new album, the Posse, and the Britney Spears improv from Melbourne. The entire appearance is on Sunrise’s video player, which, being Flash-based, should be viewable by most folks:

    1. Roosterspur Bridge/interview
    2. Taxi Ride

Thanks to Robert Schrader, Ben Dodds and Chantel!

Update: Both performances are also on YouTube:

    When A Star Falls Down

    Thursday, September 13, 2007 | 05:37 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring,TV/Radio/Web

Perez Hilton has posted audio of Tori’s improvisation about Britney Spears from the second Melbourne concert. Honestly, after giving it a spin (the the extent that streaming audio on the net is a spin), it sounds more like a real song than an improv. Could it be, as some have suggested, a song originally written for Neil Gaiman’s “Stardust”, adapted for current events? Even if that’s just a pipedream, it’s still a pretty decent song. (And, incidentally, anybody who can but hasn’t seen the movie yet, for Jeebus’ sake, go!)

Thanks to the many who let us know about this — Craig was the first.

Update: Spinner has the audio clip too.

Tori on Triple J's Top Shelf

    Thursday, September 13, 2007 | 05:23 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori will be on Triple J’s Top Shelf radio program today, September 13th. Top Shelf starts at 3pm AEST and goes on until 5:30pm.

It’s 12:20 AM on the 13th here in the Northeast of the United States so, unless I’m completely confused, the program starts in about 40 minutes. So, hopefully, people will be able to catch this. The program is podcast and archived so everyone should be able to catch this after the fact.

Thanks to wkdfaerie for the heads-up!

Update: The interview is now available as a mp3 download from the Top Shelf archive. Here’s a direct link — grab it before it disappears!

    Big Wheel on Rove

    Thursday, September 13, 2007 | 02:57 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web,Video

Do you live outside of Australia? Did you miss Tori performing “Big Wheel” on Rove earlier this week? Do you want to see it again? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, YouTube is your friend! Thanks to michiki for the link! (And apologies for all in getting this posted — I’ve been having DSL issues for a couple days. Grrrrrrr.)

Bonus Rove: jump the cut for “Sleeps With Butterflies” from Tori’s 2005 appearance on the program, courtesy of TurbidBlue.

    Tori on Sunrise

    Thursday, September 06, 2007 | 03:54 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Cjoelad and Shane McDonnell let us know that the Australian morning television program Sunrise announced during today’s program that Tori will be a guest on the program on Friday, September 14th. Sunrise airs on Channel 7 from 6am till 9am. Looks like they archive video of musical guests for a week after the broadcast date, so check back after September 14th to view it again (or, for those of us not in Australia, for the first time).

London Set to Air in Oz

    Wednesday, September 05, 2007 | 20:42 UTC | Posted by Beth | TV/Radio/Web

Australian radio station Triple J will broadcast a live recording of one of Tori’s London concerts on Sunday, September 9th at 5 PM on Live at the Wireless. Non-Aussies can listen to Triple J online. Thanks to Astred and to Moo & Tracey for sending this in!

Update: Triple J DJ Nic Findlay has confirmed that the July 3rd London concert will be the performance aired on Live At The Wireless.

Update: According to Brian, they only played 5 songs during the broadcast: “Body and Soul”, “God”, “You Can Bring Your Dog”, “Professional Widow”, and “Big Wheel”. Unfortunately, the broadcast has not been archived by TripleJ.

    Tori on Rove

    Sunday, September 02, 2007 | 19:10 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

During last night’s edition of the Australian television program Rove, it was announced that Tori would be one of the guests next Sunday, September 9th. Rove’s website is still showing the guests for this weekend’s program (Suzi Quatro!), but that should be updated soon once the weekend is over. Rove’s website now confirms that Tori will be on the show, performing “Big Wheel”. The program airs at 8:30pm 9:30pm on Channel TEN on Sunday evening.

Thanks to Matt L and Zeph for the tip!
