A Holiday Giftie From Tori And WXRT

    Friday, December 21, 2007 | 19:22 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Chicago radio station WXRT is sporting a complete clip of Tori performing “Little Drummer Boy,” presumably recorded when she was in town last month, on their XRTV Media Player. Her head is occasionally obstructed by the festive frame on the video but it’s still worth a listen. Thanks to Missy for the tip!

    KINK In-Studio Report

    Wednesday, December 05, 2007 | 22:42 UTC | Posted by Violet | TV/Radio/Web

Toriphile Scott sent the following report on Tori’s performance at KINK in Portland yesterday:

I went to the Kink FM concert this afternoon and just thought I’d let you know what happened. I got there around 12:30pm and then 15 minutes later, one of the Kink employees came to the lobby and told us that Tori just got here and she’s running a little late. They were going to go upstairs and do a soundcheck and then bring us up. Tori then got out of a black SUV and came in the front door and went up the stairs to the studio. She smiled as she walked through the lobby, but didn’t say anything. She was wearing her red wig when she arrived. It was only about 20 minutes later that they brought us upstairs to the studio after giving us laniards to wear. It had a picture from the Beekeeper album on it and today’s date. There were probably about 20 people in the studio. Tori came out shortly after we sat down. She was playing their upright Steinway piano and the sound quality was really good in the studio. They got started right away and reminded us that it was going to be recorded for playback on the radio at 3:30pm and could possibly be used in an upcoming Kink CD. She started out with “Silent All These Years”, then followed up with “Little Drummer Boy” which was quite a treat! I think she was only going to do 2 songs but then she finished with “Almost Rosey.” We all thought she would stick around and sign autographs and take pictures, but after she was finished, she talked to the two djs for a couple minutes and then they hurried her out of the studio. It all went by very quickly, but she sounded wonderful and it was a very memorable experience.

Sound Opinions Welcomes Tori This Weekend

    Tuesday, December 04, 2007 | 03:03 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori’s promised appearance on Sound Opinions, “the world’s only Rock and Roll talk show”, hosted by Chicago-area music journalists Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot, looks to be this coming weekend. The upcoming program description does not specify that Tori performed live, but there’s only one way to find out for sure: listen in!

Sound Opinions originates at Chicago Public Radio where it is broadcast on Fridays at 8pm (with a rebroadcast at 11am the following morning) but is also carried by a plethora of radio stations in the United States. The program is also archived online and is available as a podcast.

Note: the Sound Opinions home page indicates Tori will be on December 8th, but that is Saturday and the show actually airs on Fridays…so I think the correct date is December 7th.

Update: This show is now available for your streaming or downloading pleasure. They have also posted a Flickr photo set from the interview.

Tori On The KBCO Morning Show

    Tuesday, November 27, 2007 | 18:42 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Mrs Chux tipped us off to the fact that Tori called into Denver radio station KBCO from her tour bus this morning and chatted with BCO Morning Show host Bret for a bit about, among other things, the Doll Posse and having a sound engineer for a husband. KBCO thoughtfully podcasts features from their Morning Show so all of us who missed out on this can listen to the discussion. Download the mp3 directly here.

Also, while you’re there, check out another phone interview she did with Bret earlier this year (June 28th to be precise) when she called in from Switzerland to talk about the American Doll Posse album.

The Riverside Auditorium in Milwaukee, where Tori played on the 3rd of November 2007, added some pictures and a video from the concert to their website. As it turns out, the video is ribbonoflithium’s video of “Carbon” that she posted to YouTube! Very cool that they took notice!

Thank you Josh, missy and Wendy Goetz for sending this in!

Perez Hilton has confirmed, via a YouTube video, that Tori will be on an upcoming episode of his VH1 program, What Perez Sez. The show’s subject will be divas. Imagine that! No word on when the show will air, but soon as that dirt is dished, we’ll be sure to post it.

Thanks to Brian Smith and Saar for the tip.

    Wednesday, November 14, 2007 | 19:10 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web,Video

The promised video clips of Tori’s appearance on The Current have been posted! Those clever Current web-monkeys leverage their video distribution needs with YouTube, and have actually posted a slew of video clips of their in-studio guests.

There are currently (ha ha) three posted — Silent All These Years, Almost Rosey and Tori’s conversation with Mary Lucia — and the video for “Leather” should be added soon. For your viewing convenience, they’re embedded after the jump.

Thanks to Michael Wells at The Current for letting us know!

Update: Leather has been added too!

Tori On Sound Opinions In December

    Tuesday, November 13, 2007 | 05:45 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Intrepid investigative reporter AmyWaz contacted The Chicago Tribune’s Greg Kot about the photos that appeared with his review in the paper. In his response, Greg mentioned that he and Jim DeRogatis, Greg’s counterpart at The Chicago Sun-Times, interviewed Tori for their Chicago Public Radio program Sound Opinions while she was in town last week. The interview will be aired in December. (For those not in the broadcast range of any of the radio stations that carry the program, have no fear! The show is archived on their website and is also available as a podcast.)
