During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori will be touring in 2014 to support the release of Unrepentant Geraldines. The European legs runs from May through June and the North American legs spans July and August. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
The French/German arts television channel Arte has featured two video clips with Tori on their Arte Journal blog. The first is an edited piece, with French or German overdubs, of Tori being interviewed at her house in Kinsale, Ireland (though you can make out Tori’s original comments in English pretty easily if you are not fluent in those languages) while the second is a fascinating clip of Tori talking at length about the song “Battle of Trees” from Night of Hunters.
With apologies to German readers, we have embedded the French language clips below. You can access the German ones here or by toggling the language selector in the lower right-hand corner of the video player.
And quite a few actors have gone to [the Sylvia Young Theatre School] that are in British television. So she Tash really wanted to do this. And I said, Mark and I talked about it with her. I mean, she wanted to go to Hogwarts. But this is like a version of Hogwarts.
As we alluded to last week, Perez Hilton got the opportunity to sit down and chat with Tori and he’s posted the first part of their conversation today.
He’s also posted a partial transcript (which we unashamedly reproduce below the fold).
Look for part two to surface on Wednesday!
Thanks to Devin for the tip!
As we mentioned earlier this week, Tori was featured this past Wednesday, September 21st, on the French television program CD’Aujourd’hui.
Unfortunately, the video clip on the France 2 website is not functioning properly but, thanks to the miracle of YouTube, we all can view the interview about the story that makes up Night of Hunters as well as her relationship to the “Tori” that is the main character of the song-cycle.
Thanks to @earWithFeet and @knotsinhishair for the link!
Tori’s September 20th appearance on the Tavis Smiley show has now been archived on the PBS website for those who missed it — or those who want to watch it again. During the spot, she talked with Tavis about Night of Hunters and performed the song “Carry.”
She also performed “Silent All These Years” which, as we posted about earlier this week, can be viewed on YouTube, courtesy of the show’s musical director Jonathan X.
The interview and performance are also available on the Tavis Smiley podcast via iTunes.
PBS has also kindly provided a transcript of the interview which you can read on the PBS website or after the jump.
Even though we’ve not had a chance to add it — or anything else — to the Calendar yet, don’t forget that Tori will be interviewed on the PBS program Tavis Smiley tonight. The show typically airs at 12:30 AM on most PBS stations, but definitely check your local listings to see when or if it is shown in your area.
Fortunately, PBS repeats these programs often so if you miss it today, you should have a second (or third or fourth) chance later in the week. Even more fortunately, the interviews are typically available for streaming on the Tavis Smiley website within a day or two so everyone not in the reach of a PBS station, whether in the States or not, should have a chance to see this interview before too long.
However, turns out that the musical director for the program, one Jonathan X, has uploaded a video of Tori performing “Silent All These Years” and “Carry” for the show to YouTube already! Go figger! Enjoy!
Thanks to @UpOnThe101 for the tip!
Classic FM, a leading broadcaster of classical music in the United Kingdom, posted an interview with Tori today. Classic FM presenter Anne-Marie Minhall travelled to Ireland to meet with Tori and to discuss the new album and her on-going relationship with classical music. The interview is available on YouTube and is embedded below for your viewing pleasure.
Thanks to @torismaze and Sean for letting us know about this!
The German Rolling Stone website has posted a new video interview with Tori. It’s a montage of answers to questions covering topics ranging from Night of Hunters to plans for the upcoming tour. Enjoy!
Thanks to @EarWithFeet for alerting us to this!
Earlier today, NME posted what they indicated was a new video interview with Tori but, upon closer inspection, it’s clearly the electronic press kit for Night of Hunters as the same video appeared on various music blogs (such as iLoveMusicPop), sourced from an unlisted YouTube video from Decca Records labelled as such:
Given the that its length is just short of the 16 minutes that Universal Norway indicated was the length of the documentary on the DVD in the deluxe edition of the record, we’re guessing it’s safe to say they’re one and the same. Update: Yep, that’s been confirmed.
Thanks to Josh for catching this!
German women’s magazine Brigitte has posted the premier of the “Nautical Twilight” video on their website along with a short interview. (
If anyone can translate the interview into English for us, it would be much appreciated.)
Thanks to choirguy for letting us know.
