Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
According to several people in London, Tori’s concert at the Savoy Theatre tonight has been postponed to May 11th. We have no additional details at this time but soon as we have official word about this, we’ll get it up here….
Update: The postponment, due to illness, and rescheduled date have been confirmed by Ambassador Tickets.
Update: Everything Tori has the sad news as well. According to them, existing tickets remain valid for the new date but check with your ticket agent for additional information, as needed.
Wears The Trousers, a UK-based music magazine and website, has the first published evaluation of Abnormally Addicted to Sin. Written by long-time contributors Alan Pedder and Alex Ramon, they take on the record at great length and great thought and their perspective is quite interesting to digest. Thanks to roel for the link!
Vinyl addicts rejoice! Best Buy, Amazon.com and Amazon.ca have all added listings for a vinyl release of Abnormally Attracted to Sin so it looks like those of us who have kept their turntables in shape will have something to spin on them come May 19th.
A tip of the hat to amanda and Armen for this news.
Don’t have or want iTunes? Still want to legally download “Welcome to England”? Well, you’re in luck as other digital outlets are offering it as well. Most notably, Amazon MP3 has the tune for download but you can also find it on Zune Marketplace, lala and, undoubtedly, other online stores as well (though, sadly, not emusic).
Not being outside the States, we can’t confirm this for sure but it appears that the digital single is not available in Europe. However, both NME and ChartSingles.net point towards a physical single release of “Welcome to England” in the UK on May 25th so it’s not all one-sided.
Thanks to Ross, Rose, Armen and Matt for the tips.
Update: And while it’s not on iTunes Australia just yet, it is on BigPond Music for all the Toriphiles down under. (Thanks George!)
Several folks have sent in bits and pieces about the iTunes Abnormally Attracted to Sin pre-order/ticket pre-sale offer:
First, Jimmy and Mark linked us to this LiveDaily article which discusses the promotion. While it rehashes known information for the most part, it does confirm that general ticket sales for the shows will take place on May 30th, two days after the pre-sales on May 28th. As they say in the article, LiveDaily’s parent company is Ticketmaster one assumes that they would be in a position to confirm this.
Next, Mark also points out that some of the cities on the original list are no longer on the list of the cities on Ticketmaster. What the significance of that is, exactly, is hard to guess. Since additional details about these pre-sales has yet to surface, our advice is to sit tight and see what develops on this front.
Finally, freshwatermermaid reports that the ticket pre-sale offer is not being extended to Canadians. Not sure if this is due to iTunes Canada, Ticketmaster.ca or some combination of the two, but it does appear that the pre-sale offer is only available in the States….
“I felt that if we were gonna walk this line of erotic spirituality, which is quite a line to walk, I realized the two words don’t necessarily usually end up on the same table together in the same sentence. But it was a delicate line to walk.”
Franco Franus alerted us a full-page article about Tori and Abnormally Attracted to Sin, titled “She’s Got The Power,” in the April 25th issue of Billboard. The article is currently available on Billboard’s subscriber site, Billboard.biz, which we don’t have a subscription to. Fortunately, Kate Durbin noticed an edited version of the article published April 18th on Reuters, shamelessly copied and pasted below the cut. We’re hoping to get a scan of the Billboard article shortly (and if anyone on Billboard.biz wants to sneak us a copy of the full text, we certainly wouldn’t object).
Franco tells us that the full article includes more discussion of “erotic spirtuality” and mentions the “Maybe California” give-away download which will be a Mother’s Day promotion.
Looks like any Toriphile worth their salt should keep an eye on LP33 next week as they’ve let slip, over in the Twitterverse, that they will be posting a four part interview with Tori and that they will be offering a free download of “Maybe California” next Thursday. So, move along, nothing to see here right now, but the fun should begin next week after the Savoy show sets the stage for the run-up to the new album’s release.
First he wasn’t, then we weren’t sure, then we were sure he wasn’t — but now he is! Here’s the latest from Matt Chamberlain with respect to Tori’s upcoming tour:
As things happen in the crazy world of the music business, I will now be joining Tori Amos on her tour this summer. We will be in the US during July-Aug. and in Europe Sep-Oct…Check here or her website for more specific dates, etc….
It appears that Ms. Amos can be very persuasive…
Thanks to Rabih for the tip!
