Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
While Tori’s recorded a few Christmas songs — “Little Drummer Boy” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” — a whole album of them would seem a little out-of-character for our favorite foe of Christianity. Or would it?
The upcoming releases (article available to subscribers only) in the latest issue of Billboard magazine would beg to differ as it includes a release entitled Christmas, coming out November 3rd on Universal Republic.
Obviously, there has been no word about this from Tori’s management and the release schedule on Universal Republic’s website doesn’t go out that far so there’s no confirmation there but one would generally expect Billboard to have decent sources. Nevertheless, that’s a long way off with a world tour to worry about first so we’re sitting tight and waiting to see how this plays out.
Thanks to Damien for bringing this to our attention.
Update Spinner has picked up on this as well though they do not have any additional information about it.
On the off-chance that anyone out there hasn’t picked up a copy of A Piano: The Collection but still wants to do, head on over to Buy.com where you can find the box set at a deeply discounted price of $23.36 (marked down from $74.98). Not a bad deal at all.
Thanks to rsbryswrrl for tipping us off to this!
Several folks have written in pointing out that some of the items being sold out on the road during the Sinful Attraction tour are already available directly from The Tori Store. In addition to three of the tour shirts, they’re also offering up a tote bag, buttons, and the tour necklace — a key and lock, naturally!
Thanks to lushvalley, rusty and Alfred for catching this!
Still haven’t picked up Abnormally Attracted to Sin? Holding out for a deal?
Well, assuming you’re into digital downloads and are in the United States, such a deal has come along today: the regular edition (no visualettes, that is) is available from Amazon.com’s MP3 department for the low price of $2.99! Act quickly since the discounted price is only good for today, Friday, July 17th.
Thanks Matthew and Dink for catching this!
Comic Book Tattoo has made the shortlist of nominations for a 2009 British Fantasy Awards in the Best Comic/Graphic Novel category (it was previously on the long-list, so this is a good thing!). Voting wraps up on August 1st and the winners will be announced at the British Fantasy Awards Ceremony at FantasyCon in September.
Congratulations again to Rantz and the entire CBT team for the nomination and we wish them the best of luck in this and the Eisner Awards!
Since the last article about the debut positions of Abnormally Attracted to Sin on various charts, several other countries’ charts have come out and here’s how the record did in these countries during its first week of availability:
Austria | #12 |
Czech Republic | #48 |
Denmark | #40 |
Finland | #20 |
France | #61 |
Germany | #16 |
Additionally, Michal found the United World Chart which compiles world-wide sales to get a more global picture of popularity. With approximately 65,000 copies sold overall since its release, Abnormally Attracted to Sin debuted in the #11 spot. (Interesting since we know from Billboard that 41,000 were sold in the States.)
Finally, an update on a couple earlier placements: in its fourth week on the Billboard Triple A Single chart, “Welcome to England” has moved up to #13 while, in Poland, Abnormally Attracted to Sin moved into the Top 10, filling the 9th position during its second week (and first full week) on the Polish charts.
Thanks also to Niina, Clément, Rahdne and Cecile for keeping on top of this!
While Billboard hasn’t updated the Billboard 200 yet, they’ve have posted a news article reporting on the new chart which reveals that Abnormally Attracted to Sin has debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200. With 41,000 copies sold during its first week, it’s her seventh Top 10 album. 7 for 10! Not bad!
Abnormally Attracted to Sin also cracked the Top 10 on iTunes US, taking the tenth spot on their album chart for the week ending May 25th, as reported by the AP.
Meanwhile, several folks have written in with some additional chart placements through out Europe and Australia:
Spain – #84
Norway – #37
The Netherlands
– #22
Ireland – #31
Belgium – #91
Belgium – #44
Switzerland – #14
Australia – #28
Thanks to michal, Dyana, Jessie, Cristina and Armen for the links and research!
With the release of Abnormally Attracted to Sin last week, it’s started to appear on various album charts this week. It debuted at #20 on the BBC Radio 1 Chart in the UK and, with only a couple days’ sales under its belt, at #15 on Poland’s album chart. Pretty not bad!
Meanwhile, in the States, we won’t see whether or not the album debuts on the Billboard 200 until Thursday when the chart showing last week’s sales is published, but “Welcome to England” creeped up another spot to #16 on the Triple A Single Chart in its third week on the list.
Thanks to michal, Matt, Jared, Rahdne and Andy Taylor for keeping a close eye on these things!
A complete list of stores offering a free “art rock poster” with purchases of Abnormally Attracted to Sin has been posted on Tori’s Myspace blog. It’s said to be limited so if you want one you should probably swing by one of these retailers and pick one up soon.
Last week, Abnormally Attracted to Sin arrived the Australia and much of Europe. Today marks its UK and French release and the album arrives in stores in North America tomorrow. Presumably most people will be picking up the regular edition, the deluxe edition with the visualette DVD (though, we hear, that’s been slightly delayed in Australia), the vinyl (raises his hand), a digital release on iTunes if that’s what floats your boat (or your ticket pre-sale), or some combination of the above. And, of course, if you’re holding off, you can still listen to the album at Myspace, The Guardian and the German Universal Music site — though, sadly, it seems that folks outside North America, the UK or Germany may not be able to take advantage of any of those streams.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the deluxe edition yet, Inge from The Velvets kindly gave us permission to use her pictures of the deluxe edition and scans of the deluxe booklet that she posted on her site over the weekend. The European release also included a small poster to whet the collector’s appetite.
It’s worth noting above the fold that the DVD is titled “The Road Chronicles,” which the sharp-minded will recall as the title of a project Tori discussed in an interview for Revolver. It wasn’t clear then — and still isn’t clear now — if “The Road Chronicles” is, in fact, the American Doll Posse tour DVD primarily filmed in Oakland in 2007, but it is clear that “The Road Chronicles” evolved out of that original project. Whether or not it sounds the death knell of the ADP DVD remains to be seen…
Enjoy the pictures and thanks again to Inge!
