    Pip Pip Hurray!

    Friday, April 06, 2007 | 01:10 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,Toriphiles

Pip’s blog has finally been found. (Toriphile Crystal gets props on being the first to find it using the hints in Santa’s blog.)

The word of the week has definitely been “politics.” Yes, indeed, lots of pi-pi-pi-pi-politics.

Bouncing Off Clouds Hits European Airwaves

    Tuesday, April 03, 2007 | 21:49 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,TV/Radio/Web

“Bouncing Off Clouds,” the European single, is hitting the airwaves. Studio Brussel added the song to their playlist today.

(We hope it’s okay to say “bouncing” on European radio.)

Thanks to Sanne and Fabz for catching this.

Got MILF? Er, Maybe Not ...

    Tuesday, April 03, 2007 | 00:17 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,TV/Radio/Web

Uh-oh, “Big Wheel” seems to be having big problems getting played on many radio stations in the U.S. Toriphile Bryan contacted station WAPS 91.3 in Akron, Ohio, to ask when they’d start playing the single, and the station’s programming director told him that Epic “goofed big-time” by “releasing a single with a frequently-repeated obscene acronym.” Seems they are unable to play it, and many other stations across the country are in the same boat. Epic is apparently scrambling for a Plan B, attempting an edit of the song, but the term is scattered through the song so liberally it may not be possible without sounding all chopped up.

So this MILF thing is causing all sorts of milfing problems. What the milf? Pictures of Britney’s hoohoo get plastered across the Internet, but you can’t say “MILF” on the radio in 2007? It’s just a milfing acronym. Well, for an album intended to highlight the political in American society, the puritanical ass-backwardness of media politics seems as good a place to start as any.

We think “Bouncing Off Clouds” would do better as a single anyway, in case anyone is listening. [woj sez: do we Violet? Do we really?]

    The Elusive Pip

    Thursday, March 29, 2007 | 23:39 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,Toriphiles

Normally we wouldn’t mention a fake blog here, but Pip has fans completely stymied. We’ve gotten tons of emails asking about a particlar blog. Mentioning it publicly will save time.

No, this is NOT Pip’s blog.

[All night long I dreamt I was hunting for Pip’s blog. I even remember the username I found it under in my dream — “pipwhipsandchains” — but I’m pretty sure that’s not right. Not unless my ESP got a thousand times better overnight, anyway. I do think Pip is being pretty sadistic to us all, though!]

    Big Wheel On Tori's MySpace

    Thursday, March 29, 2007 | 06:03 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,TV/Radio/Web

You can now listen to “Big Wheel” in full on Tori’s MySpace.

Thanks to Peter, Randy, terry, and peter smith.

    Meet Tori's Posse

    Wednesday, March 28, 2007 | 04:52 UTC | Posted by Violet | Articles,Releases

Head over to SameSame.com.au to get just a little chummier with the girls in Tori’s posse, thanks to Christian Taylor. Oooh, lots of new quotes and interesting tidbits!

While it still remains unconfirmed by the record company, the folks at SameSame.com.au feel certain that Tori will be touring Oz this year. We have a feeling she will, too.

Thanks for a great article, Christian!

    AOL Clips Not For Everyone?

    Tuesday, March 27, 2007 | 23:49 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,TV/Radio/Web

At least one Australian Toriphile has had access denied when trying to listen to the clips on AOL Music. He gets a message saying the clips are “not currently available in your area.” Hrmph! Seems AOL is hosting these on the Not-Quite-The-World Wide Web corner of the Internet.

[Update: Seems European fans can’t listen, either. Guess “AOL” really does stand for America Online. It’s probably some issue with licensing, but that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, seeing as how this album’s going to be released worldwide. Ironic to think that Tori probably couldn’t even listen to her own clips from home.]

    Two More Posse Blogs

    Tuesday, March 27, 2007 | 22:08 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,Toriphiles

Toriphiles have ferreted out two more of the Posse blogs. Yay, you! Fans using some platforms (Safari being one) are having trouble viewing Isabel’s entry, but if you click on her RSS button, you should be able to see it. (Yeah, doesn’t make sense, but it works.)

Pip has managed to hide herself quite well. Seems she’s going to be the difficult one.

    Blaise Confirms Photo Location

    Tuesday, March 27, 2007 | 21:56 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases

For weeks, fans have been curious about the house in the first ADP promotional image we saw. Is it American? Kinda looks like some suburban houses in the U.S. Is it English? Very similar to many Cornish bungalows.

    Hmmmm….

Well, Toriphile Tremor got confirmation from the artist himself: Blaise says the image was shot in front of a bungalow near Tori’s recording studio in Cornwall.

AOL Music: Tori Amos First Listen

    Tuesday, March 27, 2007 | 20:40 UTC | Posted by Violet | Releases,TV/Radio/Web

AOL Music is offering up the complete “Big Wheel” plus clips of “Bouncing Off Clouds” and “Teenage Hustling” for your listening pleasure.

Tori herself comments a bit on each track:

    • “Big Wheel”: “‘Big.’ One of my favorite words, along with ‘Little.’ Now if I’m a guy, I’m probably going to prefer the word ‘Big’ when associated with my abilities, rather than my other favorite word. As a woman, I don’t mind at all if the whole world thinks that I have a Big Aspiration to straddle that piano stool every night for over 100 shows by Christmas. I don’t mind that at all.”
    • “Bouncing Off Clouds”: “Over half of relationships that end in a verbal war could at least be on speaking terms again if at least one of the combatants realized what verbal artillery to use and what verbal artillery not to use — if you ever expect to have a drink with this person again, much less anything else. This is sung by Clyde.”
    • “Teenage Hustling”: “I highly recommend singing this at the top of your lungs, preferably in rubber tights. For those gals who don’t move so well in very high heels, the advantage of rubber is obvious if you take a tumble — stains are unobservable to the naked eye and if you do fall, you may be lucky enough to bounce. This is sung by Pip.”

Thanks to Jon, Scott, hairspray queen, and jason.
