The Selections From A Piano Sampler CD

    Wednesday, September 20, 2006 | 01:18 UTC | Posted by woj | Releases

Thanks to eagle-eyed Ryan! on @forumz for spotting and posting about about Selections From A Piano: The Collection, a promotional CD from Rhino Records featuring twelve tracks from A Piano.

We have also received word from the Promotions Director at CD101, a radio station in Columbus, Ohio, that they will be giving away a copy of this sampler during the week of September 25th to celebrate the release of the boxed set. He mentioned that only 1,000 copies of the sampler were produced, so this will be a fairly rare collector’s item. Tune at 101.1 FM in Central Ohio or streaming on the Web for more details about this giveaway when they are announced.

The sampler contains these twelve tracks:

    1. A Sorta Fairytale
    2. Mary (Tales Version)
    3. Cornflake Girl
    4. Baker Baker (Alternate Mix by Kevin Killen, 1994)
    5. Silent All These Years
    6. Flying Dutchman (Alternate Mix by John Beverly Jones, 1992)
    7. Playboy Mommy (Remixed Version by Mark Hawley & Marcel van Limbeek, 2006)
    8. Crucify (Unedited Single Version)
    9. Take To The Sky (Russia)
    10. God
    11. Cruel (Alternate Mix by Mark Hawley & Mark van Limbeek, 2006)
    12. Sugar

Yes, we know: stuff is getting out there, you naughty little donkeys.

However, as a news site dedicated to bringing fans reliable information while not infringing upon artist rights, it is Undented’s policy not to post links to sources that we know to be offering unauthorized downloads or streams of Tori’s official recordings.

So while we do still want to be informed about these things, if we can determine that a source is unauthorized, we will not report on it out of respect for Tori and her work.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled weekend….

A Piano Price Increase at Barnes & Noble

    Tuesday, September 12, 2006 | 06:00 UTC | Posted by woj | Releases

BN.com has raised the price for pre-orders of their exclusive six-disc edition of A Piano: The Collection to $67.48 ($60.73 for members). That’s still a 10% discount (19% overall for members) from the list price of $74.98 so not too shabby…but unfortunate for folks like me who were lazy and didn’t snap it up at the lower price.

Thanks to Steve for letting us know about this!

“I’m not one to give the record company my blessing and do what [they] think is best. I don’t think that anybody knows what’s best except the composer or the midwives of the songs themselves.” —Tori Amos

The following article appears on AOL Music on September 11, 2006. Much thanks to Leah and Gregg for telling us about this.
