Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Are you tired of reading reviews of Abnormally Attracted to Sin yet? Nah, me neither. (Okay, well maybe a little!) But seriously though, Ian Wade has waded into the fray with his review for the BBC. It’s a little contradictory, saying the album “doesn’t disappoint,” but then goes on to lament its length and fuzzy focus.
Thanks to Ben for the tip!
In The News has reviewed Abnormally Attracted to Sin as well. While another positive review, it’s structured differently than most, answering several questions about the album and the artist upfront, aimed towards the non-fan, and then goes in-depth discussing the record. Check it out — and thanks to Kimberly for sending us the link.
Here’s a short and sweet review of the new record from Metrosource. More of a blurb than a review, so we’ll just stick it in the article directly. Thanks franco franus for the link.
Abnormal Growth
Abnormally Attracted to Sin (Universal Republic)
Following a pair of critically maligned records (2005’s The Beekeeper and 2007’s American Doll Posse), Tori is back in a major way. Her past few releases may have lacked the punch that we’ve come to know, love and obsess over, but Abnormally Attracted to Sin is more than just a breath of fresh air; it’s a positive return to form. Tori has attracted a rabid fan base ever since her debut album (1992’s Little Earthquakes) hit shelves, thanks in part to her raw honesty, vivid storytelling and otherworldly vocal range. Thankfully, that has all returned with Sin. Her strong stances on sexuality, religion and feminism are intertwined beautifully from the start to the finish of this impeccable record. All hail the triumphant return of Ms. Amos!
Paul Cashmere’s Abnormally Attracted to Sin review for Australian entertainment website Undercover.com.au also contains the familiar refrain (“too long”) but he otherwise has good things to say about the album, saying that leaving Epic has resulted in a revitalization of her sound. Read on to see what else he has to say…
Thanks to kushyv for the tip!
Kate Horstead has reviewed Abnormally Attracted to Sin for the music website Gigwise, giving the record 3 of 5 stars. Despite the so-so rating, she has more than a few good things to say about the album and really only takes issue with its length — making it a pretty conventional review as these things go.
Thanks Kimberly for the link!
Luke McNaney’s review of _Abnormally Attracted to Sin for The Music Fix is now up and he’s quite enthused about it, giving it a score of 9 out of 10. Head on over to see why…
Thanks to Kimberly and Luke for letting us know.
Eva Umbauer, who spoke with Tori on Austrian radio FM4 yesterday, reviewed, on the station’s blog, the session Tori recorded later that evening. While the review is German, those who aren’t fluent should take a gander since several photographs from the session are there for the viewing (larger, higher quality images can be found at miupar).
My Deutsch is schrecklich at best so I wouldn’t even attempt to translate the review for myself. So if you’re curious about what Eva thought of the evening, Babelfish or one of the other translation services out there should give you the gist.
As a reminder, the session will be broadcast on FM4 on May 14th.
MusicOHM.com has posted their review of Abnormally Attracted to Sin and, you know, it sounds a lot like the others have surfaced. See what we mean after the cut…
Drowned in Sound has added their voice to the chorus, posting their review of Tori’s forthcoming effort and giving it a grade of 7 out of 10. Jump the cut to see what they have to say and head on over to their expansive site to read it, if you’d prefer.
Thanks to Eva for Twitter tip!
SameSame.com.au, an Australian website that had the scoop on Tori’s Australian tour in 2007, has gotten its mitts on a copy of Abnormally Attracted to Sin and let one of their staff, rheiner, have his way with it. He’s posted his review and, rather than taking a holistic approach, he’s given it the track-by-track once-over of his reactions to each song.
If you’re holding out until the release date, you might want to skip this rather detailed review for now, but if you’re anxious for every little tidbit, it’s definitely worth the read.
