Tori Visits The KGSR Music Lounge

    Thursday, December 22, 2011 | 03:32 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori stopped by Austin radio station KGSR today and performed live on the air in their Music Lounge. KGSR has kindly posted the video on their website so not only can you listen (if, like us, you missed it when it was aired) but watch it too! Technology!

The session included performances of “Winter,” “Upside Down,” “Edge of the Moon,” and “Star of Wonder” and an interview segment by KGSR deejay Kristen Kurtis — who got her photo with Tori like any good fan!

They’ve also posted a photo album from the session (which we’ve shamelessly reproduced below).

The segment Tori recorded for Tell Me More back at the start of the month was broadcast as part of today’s episode of this NPR radio program. Even though some stations that carry the program have not aired this episode yet, it is already available for streaming and download from NPR.

In addition, NPR has also kindly posted a story about the appearance that includes video of Tori performing “Edge of the Moon” from the in-studio:

The full appearance included an interview with Tell Me More’s host Michel Martin as well as live performances of “Edge of the Moon,” “Nautical Twilight,” and “Winter.”

    Enjoy!

    Wednesday, December 14, 2011 | 02:51 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

On Monday, December 11th, several Toriphiles were lucky enough to attend the taping for the upcoming episode of The Rosie Show that Tori will be on and kindly reported on what transpired.

The taping included an interview segment and three songs: “Edge of the Moon,” “Silent All These Years” (Rosie’s request), and “Crucify,” as a duet with Rosie herself.

The airdate of the episode has not yet been announced but we’re certainly looking forward to see what ends up being broadcast! Soon as we get wind of the date to set your DVRs, VCRs and Betamaxes, we’ll get the word out.

Incidentally, as we all know, Rosie’s a fan and she tweeted about having done some Tori-inspired painting, posting a photograph and close-up of it.

Thanks to Ashley and JoeyLove for the report!

    Listen To Friday's Q Interview

    Saturday, December 10, 2011 | 17:21 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori stopped the CBC studios yesterday and chatted with host Jian Ghomeshi on his program Q.

The interview, which lasted about 25 minutes, was aired during the second half-hour of the December 9th episode and is now available for streaming in their archives (the interview starts at the 25:40 minute mark of the archive). It was also included in the Q podcast for yesterday’s show. The run time for the podcast is a little different so the interview starts at 14:25.

However, Q has kindly posted the complete unedited interview on their blog so that’s what we would recommend listening to!

Tell Us More, NPR, Tell Us More

    Wednesday, December 07, 2011 | 00:47 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

As we reported over the weekend, Tori did a taping for the NPR program Tell Me More on Monday, December 5th. So, far NPR has yet tell anyone when it will be broadcast, but they did share this photograph of Tori performing in their studio on Instagram.

According to @towanda74, who was at the taping, Tori played “Nautical Twilight,” “Edge of the Moon” and “Winter” and also spoke to host Michel Martin.

If you were at the taping and would care to share your tale of the afternoon, we’d love to hear it — drop us a line using the contact form and we’ll get it added to the site.

And as soon as we know when the session will air, we’ll pass the information along!

    Ryan says:

Was lucky enough to be at this performance. There were only about 30 people in the room seated. A grand piano (not one of Tori’s). Tori walked in, dressed in a flowy black top, green tights, and HIGH bright green Christian Loubouin heels. She looked gorgeous. Michele Martin the host started by apologizing that the piano wasn’t a Bosey, which Tori laughed at. She was asked some questions (fairly standard stuff)gave a nice story about how her daughter has very strong opinions and has a unique relationship with Tori’s father. She played Nautical Twilight, spoke with Michele some more, then Michele asked Tori to play another song from her new album and one from her catalog…Tori sang Edge of the Moon, and then said she would play a song that she gets many requests for, and played Winter. She sounded incredible and stayed around after to meet and greet with those fans lucky enough to be there. It was truly incredible.

    VH1 Mop-up

    Wednesday, December 07, 2011 | 00:47 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Following Tori’s appearance on VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live last week, her outfit, from jacket to shoes, was profiled”:http://www.thefablife.com/2011-12-05/style-seen-tori-amos-shoes-probably-could-crucify-you/ by The Fab Life, a celebrity news & gossip website operated by MTV Networks. Thus, we learn she was wearing, “a Joseph faux snakeskin jacket over an All Saints blouse, Top Shop raspberry jeans and Marni pumps.” If that doesn’t mean anything to you, just look at the pretty pictures:

Also, as you may recall, Tori answered a question for VH1’s “Pass The Bowl” series. She also submitted one and we found out yesterday what she wrote: “Describe a spiritually erotic experience in detail.” Just what we guessed!

    Tori To Tell Us More

    Saturday, December 03, 2011 | 19:38 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

As posted on the official Facebook page, Tori will be one of Michel Martin’s guests on an upcoming episode of the NPR program Tell Me More. Tori’s team will be giving away some tickets to the taping of the appearance, so if you will be in or around Washington, DC on Monday the 5th, send an e-mail to NPR@toriamos.com, providing your name, age, city and e-mail address to request a spot. (This was posted on Thursday afternoon so we’re guessing most spots may be gone by now, but give it a shot if you can attend!)

Since they say it’s a taping, we’re guessing the appearance probably will be broadcast on Monday but we’ll will be tuning in just in case. NPR has a listing by state of all radio stations that carry the program and the airtimes.

Once it is aired though, we all should be able to stream it from the show’s archives or listen via their podcast.

Thanks to Ryan for the tip!
