    Birthdays Ahoy!

    Saturday, August 16, 2014 | 14:51 UTC | Posted by woj | RAINN,Touring

Get your party hats on! Two big anniversaries of note will be celebrated and observed over the coming week!

First, 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of Tori’s other labor of love that came into being in 1994: RAINN! RAINN’s second decade will be celebrated with a birthday brunch on Sunday, August 17th at which Tori, RAINN’s first spokesperson, will be the guest of honor. Tickets for the brunch are long sold out but there are still sponsor packages available if you’d like to contribute to the event and attend.

Regardless of whether or not you are able to attend the brunch, RAINN is encouraging everyone to join the celebration using the hashtag #RAINN20th on Twitter and Instagram. Perhaps you have some personal reflections on how Tori’s music and presence as a survivor has helped you or influenced your perception of sexual violence. Maybe you want to share how you are honoring RAINN’s 20th anniversary. It’s all welcome! We also encourage you to, as they suggest, make a $20 donation in honor of the anniversary — every little bit helps!

Second, this coming Friday, August 22, is Tori’s 51st birthday! There are plans afoot to mark the occasion at the concert in Clearwater, Florida on Friday – the first time she’ll be playing a show on a birthday since 2003 if our memories aren’t too whack on a Saturday morning. Details are still being worked out by the crew and should be shared towards the middle of the coming week, so please do not pester them about it. Soon as we get the plan, we’ll be passing it along — hope it’s wonderful night for everyone and, most especially, for Tori!

However, if you want to get in on the birthday celebration early, we encourage you to make a donation to RAINN as an early birthday present via the RAINNmaker page of our fine, feathered friends at Tori Songs. Last year, for Tori’s 50th, Tori fans from across the world contributed $3,500. Celebrate her 51st year, Unrepentant Geraldines, and the incredible tour supporting it by chipping in to thank her for all that she has done since then!

    Boston Meet And Greet Nixed

    Friday, August 15, 2014 | 10:36 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

We’ve gotten word from the tour crew that between their schedule today and the earlier show time tonight, there will not be a meet and greet in Boston today. Sorry to those looking forward to saying hi to her today…

    The Current (August 3, 2014)

    Wednesday, August 06, 2014 | 00:53 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Update: Complete audio and a gallery of photographs from the in-studio have been posted on The Current’s website!

This past Sunday, during the afternoon before the show in St. Paul, Tori swung by the studios of The Current for a visit with Bill DeVille and a live performance. In addition to chatting with DeVille about the new record, touring and singing with her daughter on the song “Promise,” she played three songs: “Cloud On My Tongue,” “Wild Way,” and “Oysters.”

If you missed it (like we did), The Current has indicated that they will be posting audio and photos from the session on Wednesday but, if you want to get an early taste, they’ve already uploaded video of "Oysters" to YouTube. Check it out below and head over to The Current’s website tomorrow to hear the rest of the session!

    It's A CBS Two-fer!

    Saturday, August 02, 2014 | 16:18 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Earlier today, CBS This Morning Saturday aired the Saturday Session Tori recorded for them back in July. The broadcast included two songs, "Oysters" and "Wild Way," while a third, "Selkie", was recorded exclusively for the web. Videos of all three have been added to CBS video archive and uploaded to YouTube for your viewing (and our embedding) pleasure!

Additionally, Elizabeth Palmer’s long-awaited interview with Tori for CBS Sunday Morning, centered on her visit with Tori in Ireland back in May, is now slated to be shown tomorrow, Sunday, August 3rd. Check your local listings to see if your local CBS affiliate carries that program and at what time.

In the meantime, here are the performances from today’s CBS This Morning Saturday appearance!

And while you’re there, scroll down a wee bit farther for a new interview that was just done last week, before the show in Mesa, Arizona.

Live Nation Lists A Second Sydney Show

    Tuesday, July 22, 2014 | 02:03 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Update: The Live Nation pre-sale for this show is underway. No password required but you must be registered with Live Nation to buy tickets in this pre-sale.

Update: Yep, Live Nation has clarified their listing and our guess was correct: Live Nation pre-sale on Wednesday from 10:00 AM AEST, Ticketmaster pre-sale on Friday from 10:00 AM AEST, and general sale next Monday from 10:00 AM AEST.

So, while we were distracted by oh, something shiny, Live Nation Australia & New Zealand went and added a second show in Sydney, Australia to their listing. This second show is on Wednesday, November 12th and is also with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House.

The listing on Live Nation is a bit confusing as far as ticket sale dates in that it shows a pre-sale on July 25th and general sales on July 23rd and 28th. This show is not on Ticketmaster yet so can’t cross-reference but we’re assuming Live Nation’s sales dates will probably be a Live Nation pre-sale on the 23rd, a Ticketmaster pre-sale on the 25th and the general sale on the 28th. But we shall see…

Thanks to Mario for the tip!
