    Minneapolis: Wrapped In Your Papoose

    Thursday, August 06, 2009 | 12:22 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Last night’s show at the State Theatre in Minneapolis is in the books and it sounds like it was a good one! The Lizard Lounge included two tour debuts, “Silent All These Years” and “Ophelia” (yes, it was played live on KCRW, but an in-studio for a radio station is a wee bit different from a concert), and “Talula,” performed on the organ, also came out to play for the first time. The rest of the concert featured “Pretty Good Year,” “Doughnut Song.” “Siren,” “Pandora’s Aquarium” and “Carbon.” Many thanks to @TalulaKim for texting us the setlist!

As always, we’ll be posting your reviews, pictures and videos from the show in the concert section (though, it should be said we’re a little behind on some of that; bear with us, we’re catching up!). If you’d like to share, please use the comment form on the Minneapolis page to send in your thoughts.

    Down By The Riverside...

    Wednesday, August 05, 2009 | 11:56 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

Last night, the Sinful Attraction tour chugged its way through Milwaukee’s Riverside Theatre. Tori and the guys added a couple new songs to their repertoire: “Virginia,” which appeared with the band during the first part of the show, and “Strange,” which made up one half of the Lizard Lounge. “Maybe California” completed the solo section of the show. They shook the encore up a little, starting off with “Caught A Lite Sneeze” and “Juarez” before closing with the crowd-pleasing “Big Wheel.” The rest of the set featured “Little Earthquakes,” “Martha’s Foolish Ginger,” and “Hotel.”

We’d love to hear what you thought of the show if you were there, so please use the comment form at the bottom of the Milwaukee page to post a review of the evening. Pictures, videos and other what-not are always welcome too!

Thanks to @garmonbozia and @rideon for teaming up to get the setlist in on Twitter.

    Guys and Lads in Chicago

    Tuesday, August 04, 2009 | 04:24 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

At the meet and greet this afternoon, Tori reportedly promised a couple debuts for tonight’s show at the Chicago Theatre (in, you guessed it, Chicago!) and said that it would be “a boys’ show.” That turned out to be a pretty literal statement as the debuts of “That Guy” and “Northern Lad” were played back-to-back in the middle of the show tonight. She had a debut for the girls as well, though, with the first appearance of “Josephine” during the Sinful Attraction tour. Other notable songs in the set, which has been posted in the Tour section, included “Curtain Call,” “Hotel” and “Lady in Blue” and, making the Lizard Lounge along with “That Guy,” “Leather.”

Reviews are welcome! If you were there and would like to share your thoughts, pictures or videos, please get in touch using the form at the bottom of the Chicago page.

Many thanks to @TheSovietKitsch and @WhenSheTwinkles for tweeting the setlist!

    Buzzine Interview (July 2009)

    Monday, August 03, 2009 | 11:59 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

I think doing interviews is really tricky. There’s an art form to it, and I understand why it’s done, but I really like listening to people a lot more than I like talking. I wrote songs so I wouldn’t have to talk about myself, but I end up answering questions all the time.

A few weeks ago, Buzzine posted a set of photographs taken at (or possibly before) the Los Angeles show. Later, photographer Lauren Elfman also got the chance to talk Tori and Buzzine posted the interview at the end of last week. In this wide-ranging exchange, Tori discusses spirituality, the Sinful Attraction tour, family, The Light Princess, the upcoming Christmas/Solstice record and her thoughts on Comic Book Tattoo.

Thanks to Mark-Alexis for the link!

Racing From Langley to Constitution Hall

    Sunday, August 02, 2009 | 04:01 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring

With thanks to @Vixxenkiss and @Angorasoul who were posting to Twitter from tonight’s show at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, the complete setlist is now up in the Tour section.

From what we’ve heard about this show so far, the highlights were the tour debut of “Pretty Good Year” and the second half of tonight’s Lizard Lounge: “Gold Dust,” making its second appearance in a Sinful Attraction setlist. “Hotel,” “Body and Soul,” Mary Jane” and “Raspberry Swirl” were also played, complimenting the assortment of anchor songs that made up the rest of the set.

By the power of technology, there are already a couple videos from the show available for your viewing pleasure!

As always, we’d love to hear what you have to say about the show so please post a review if you attended and want to share your thoughts about the performance.

    WRNR Private Artist Showcase Today

    Saturday, August 01, 2009 | 17:50 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web,Video

Looks like Tori is doing a Private Artist Showcase for WRNR this afternoon. We’re not sure if this is being aired live or if it being recording for later broadcast and, unfortunately, the server from which WRNR streams is acting up so we can’t listen in to check. But anyone in the Chesapeake Bay area, including Annapolis and Baltimore, may want to tune their rusty, dusty FM tuners to 103.1 FM just in case anything exciting happens to happen…

Update Yep, it happened, though it does not appear to have been broadcast live. Tori played a short set which included “Leather,” “Silent All These Years,” “Mary Jane” and “Lady in Blue.”

Jump the cut to see a video clips shared by Angorasoul, the Ram’s Head blog and Jason on YouTube.

Q&A: Does Tori ever do a post-show meet and greet?

    Saturday, August 01, 2009 | 08:13 UTC | Posted by Violet | Q&A

    Q: Does Tori ever do a post-show M&G? — Kimberly

A: She used to, but hasn’t for a long time. People who’ve waited after various shows on the AATS tour have told us that they’ve either gotten a quick glimpse of Tori waving as she’s whisked away in her vehicle or they haven’t seen her exit the building at all.

    No M&G In DC

    Saturday, August 01, 2009 | 07:51 UTC | Posted by Violet | Touring

For those who may not have caught it on our Twitter stream Friday afternoon, Tori will not be doing a M&G in DC on Saturday. She won’t have time because of a radio appearance. (Thanks, @kirkland24.)
