    Tori's Appearance on Sunrise

    Friday, September 14, 2007 | 12:58 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori was the musical guest on Australian television program Sunrise this morning. She performed two songs, “Roosterspur Bridge” and “Taxi Ride”, and also sat down for a chat with hosts Melissa Doyle and David Koch during which they discussed the new album, the Posse, and the Britney Spears improv from Melbourne. The entire appearance is on Sunrise’s video player, which, being Flash-based, should be viewable by most folks:

    2. Taxi Ride

Thanks to Robert Schrader, Ben Dodds and Chantel!

Update: Both performances are also on YouTube:

LA presale at 10 a.m. Friday!

    Friday, September 14, 2007 | 05:37 UTC | Posted by Beth | Touring

It looks like Tori’s Dec. 16 show at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California, will have its presale Friday, Sept. 14 (that’s tomorrow!) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the password is POSSE. The regular onsale is still scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15, as far as we know. Thanks, Angelica!

    When A Star Falls Down

    Thursday, September 13, 2007 | 05:37 UTC | Posted by woj | Touring,TV/Radio/Web

Perez Hilton has posted audio of Tori’s improvisation about Britney Spears from the second Melbourne concert. Honestly, after giving it a spin (the the extent that streaming audio on the net is a spin), it sounds more like a real song than an improv. Could it be, as some have suggested, a song originally written for Neil Gaiman’s “Stardust”, adapted for current events? Even if that’s just a pipedream, it’s still a pretty decent song. (And, incidentally, anybody who can but hasn’t seen the movie yet, for Jeebus’ sake, go!)

Thanks to the many who let us know about this — Craig was the first.

Update: Spinner has the audio clip too.

Tori on Triple J's Top Shelf

    Thursday, September 13, 2007 | 05:23 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web

Tori will be on Triple J’s Top Shelf radio program today, September 13th. Top Shelf starts at 3pm AEST and goes on until 5:30pm.

It’s 12:20 AM on the 13th here in the Northeast of the United States so, unless I’m completely confused, the program starts in about 40 minutes. So, hopefully, people will be able to catch this. The program is podcast and archived so everyone should be able to catch this after the fact.

Thanks to wkdfaerie for the heads-up!

Update: The interview is now available as a mp3 download from the Top Shelf archive. Here’s a direct link — grab it before it disappears!

Rip It Up Interview (September 13, 2007)

    Thursday, September 13, 2007 | 05:11 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

My goal is to learn how to say ‘cocksucker’ in every language that exists. I’d like to know it in every Middle Eastern language – I’d like to be able to say ‘cocksucker’ in Farsi. Everybody needs to know that and I’ll tell you why. If you happen to be in that moment where you need that word and you don’t know how to say it, you’re going to start throwing your shoes at people.

So says Tori in this new interview which is the cover article in the latest issue of the Adelaide street magazine, Rip It Up where she, again, broaches the possibility of her not touring on such a grand scale again in the future. (We don’t know how to say “cocksucker” in Farsi either but the Intertube has the goods for a whole host of other, uh, tongues.)

Thanks to Scott McLennan for the advance notice about this — the current issue of Rip It Up hits the Adelaide streets today!

Lucy also sent in this positively gushing review of the first Melbourne concert that appeared in the Citybeat section of the September 11th edition of Melbourne’s ‘mX’. (Alas, this publication does not appear to publish their content on the web.)

    Pieces of Her: Tori's Tidbits

    Thursday, September 13, 2007 | 04:21 UTC | Posted by woj | Articles

Tori was featured in the appropriately-named Pieces of Me section of September 3rd’s edition of The Guardian. The two-page spread in the G2 supplement displays several objects that Tori can’t do without — including her comments about them.

Laura let us know about the piece and William kindly sent us a PDF file of the spread which I’ve clumsily converted to the image files below (yes, there’s a watermark from the conversion tool, but it’s fairly faint so make me feel better and pretend it’s not there):

Read on for a transcription of the article text thanks to lucy.

    Big Wheel on Rove

    Thursday, September 13, 2007 | 02:57 UTC | Posted by woj | TV/Radio/Web,Video

Do you live outside of Australia? Did you miss Tori performing “Big Wheel” on Rove earlier this week? Do you want to see it again? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, YouTube is your friend! Thanks to michiki for the link! (And apologies for all in getting this posted — I’ve been having DSL issues for a couple days. Grrrrrrr.)

Newcastle Herald Article (September 8, 2007)

    Tuesday, September 11, 2007 | 22:02 UTC | Posted by Violet | Articles

“Days when I thought it was hard being on the road . . . you try being a mum on the road!”

The following article appeared in the Newcastle Herald newspaper on September 8, 2007. Among other things, Tori discusses right-wing America’s expectations of women, surviving in the music industry, and being a mom. Thanks to Lucy for sending this in.

    I am women
Whether she’s playing several different female characters on stage, or venting her spleen, music virtuoso and sweet-sounding songwriting intellect Tori Amos is not one to beat around the bush. She tells BEN QUINN a thing or two.
