Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Thanks to Amy Wasnidge for contacting the folks at the Northrup Auditorium in Minneapolis and getting confirmation from them that Tori will be playing there on Wednesday, November 7th. An on-sale date has not been set but they indicated that it would be sometime in September.
While I was driving home from work and, afterwards, watching the local news (hey, I’m almost 40 — I’m allowed to watch old media!), ToriAmos.com announced that there would be a second show in Boston at the Orpheum Theatre on Friday, October 19th. Tickets for that show go on sale on Friday, August 3rd at 10:00 AM EDT. At this time, it’s unknown if there will be a pre-sale for that concert or not.
Thanks to Robert Schrader and christopher for being glued to their computers instead of glued to their televisions.
An important VIP ticket message from the folks at The Tori Store (which is now back up):
Hello patient Tori Store customers,
As many of you are well aware, we had many problems with our VIP Ticket sale. First off, sincere apologies for this. We knew the demand was going to be amazing and were told the technology we had in place would be able to handle this. Unfortunately not.
Having said that, there are a lot of orders that were successfully placed and those people have been emailed and notified.
We would like to point out that before our server crashed we did sell out of VIP Packages for the following…
Syracuse Platinum
Philadelphia Gold
Philadelphia Platinum
Boston Gold
Boston Platinum
DC Gold
DC Platinum
Pittsburgh Platinum
Additional packages are still available for:
Albany Gold
Albany Platinum
Syracuse Gold
Buffalo Gold
Buffalo Platinum
Pittsburgh Gold
and will be back on sale shortly. As well as packages for over 20 more dates.
Please note we were able to capture the check-out queue successfully and responded to those who were in line before tickets sold out. If we have not individually responded to you then it means your attempt was not successful regardless of whether you had tickets in your shopping cart or not. Please remember this is a very limited supply offer.
We will be continuing with the VIP Ticket sales but orders will not be fulfilled directly through our servers. We will be sure to send out emails announcing new and additional on-sale dates and where you need to go to purchase. All this information will also be available on the front page of The Tori Store as soon as it is available.
Once again, apologies for all the confusion and frustration. As regular customers know this is not a usual occurrence. We did everything we could to rectify the situation in real time but after a while we had no choice but to take the site down. The Tori Store will be back up and running Thursday morning, excluding any VIP Ticket Packages.
Thanks for your patience,
The Tori Store
We also want to mention how the non-transferable thing will work if someone else purchases tickets for you. As is always the case online, when you purchase with a credit card you are required to include both a billing address and a shipping address. If someone else — your mom, brother, roommate, summer school teacher, pit bull, whoever —purchases VIP tickets for you and puts them on their credit card, as long as they use the address that is on your personal ID/Driver’s License as the SHIPPING ADDRESS, you will be able to get your tickets. In other words, as long as the billing address or shipping address — one or the other — is the one on your personal ID, you’re good to go.
One of the various press articles that the tour announcement on ToriAmos.com spurned had the tell-tale smell of rehashed press release about it. Some searching Tuesday afternoon didn’t turn anything up, but, it appears, I should have searched again last night since one finally came across the wire. You can find it at BusinessWire, Yahoo Finance and probably other place. Or behind the cut, here on Undented.
For the most part, there’s nothing we didn’t already know in the release except for confirmation of more official bootlegs, with more details about them to be announced:
Amos will also be announcing a series of official live bootlegs recorded during her Fall Tour. This is a follow up with a twist to her successful series of six live double-CD bootlegs released in 2005 featuring concerts in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Denver, London and Manchester.
A “follow up wiith a twist”? We are intrigued!
A reliable little birdie has whispered in Undented’s ear that the Tori Store elves are still hard at work rebuilding and reinforcing their website and that everyone should expect an e-mail update about the status of VIP ticket sales later this evening.
Additionally, we have also received confirmation that VIP ticket packages are non-transferable. Those who purchase VIP tickets will receive instructions about when and where to arrive and will have to produce positive identification (identification that matches the name used to purchase the tickets) in order to claim the tickets and gain admission into the venue. The entire process will be tightly monitored. Hopefully, that will address the concerns of those worried about the possibility of VIP ticket being scalped on eBay or elsewhere. So DO NOT make the mistake of buying tickets from scalpers, because you will absolutely not be able to use them.
Update 9:45pm PT: We know that some of you may not have credit cards of your own and are hoping that friends or parents with cards can purchase for you. We’re working to find out whether that will be possible and, if so, how that would work. Sit tight.
How frustrating! Several of you tried to use the Tori Store to purchase VIP tickets this morning, only to find that it was timing out — and then stopped loading altogether. Unfortunately, we don’t have any word on what happened, when it will be back, or what this means in terms of fans ultimately being able to purchase the tickets. If we find anything out, we will let you know. Fans might try emailing them to ask, but if their computers are down, email might not be getting through, either.
Edit: After a long wait just now (7:55 PT/10:55 ET), the site is loading, but taking very long to respond. We hope you’ll be able to purchase the packages soon!
Update at 12:45pm ET: The Tori Store has posted this on their site:
Due to the overwhelming response from fans for the VIP Ticket Packages, we have experienced unforeseen extreme technical difficulties and have had to temporarily take down The Tori Store in order to fix these problems. We apologize for all the frustration that this can caused. We are working very hard to resolve the problems as soon as possible. VIP Tickets will go back on sale. We will let everyone know via email when that will be so you can all plan accordingly. Please bear with us.
Thank you, The Tori Store
We’ve added on-sale info to the Tour section for the Madison Square Garden shows, the Detroit show, and the Toronto show. (Toronto will have an Internet pre-sale, but you need to be a member of Hummingbird Centre’s Circle of Friends.)
Although the newsletter from ToriAmos.com was a little ambiguous, it appears that the following shows will be going on pre-sale this Wednesday at 10:00 AM EDT according to the listings which were just posted at Ticketmaster: Albany, Syracuse, Upper Darby, Boston, Buffalo, Washington, and Louisville.
Personally, I want to know which poor Ticketmaster serf drew the short straw to have to add these listings at such a late hour!
Also, note that the Madison Square Garden listing for the New York City shows is now showing an on-sale date of Friday, August 3rd, so one would assume that the NYC presale will be next Wednesday – thanks Jimmy! (Actually, the MSG pre-sales start at 10am on July 25th, see the Tour section for more details.)
We’ve gotten a few questions about the VIP Ticket Packages. Unfortunately, we don’t know the answers to your questions, but the Tori Store does! They have posted a FAQ answering several questions about the VIP packages — though not the most common one we have received: “What does the VIP meet and greet mean for the regular ones that have always happened before?” The questions they’ve answered are:
And, as they say, if those answers don’t address your concerns, you can e-mail them with any additional queries you may have.
The current FAQ is under the cut.
