Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Tori swung by the Marvel Comics office during the whirlwind week of Midwinter Graces promotion in New York City and chatted with editor Ryan Penagos about the seasonal album, mythology and, of course, comics! Check it out below!
Thanks to Mark-Alexis for the heads up!
Despite some initial confusion about whether it would be live or not, the conversation between Tori and BBC Radio 2 presenter Janice Long recorded during the first week of December while Tori was promoting Midwinter Graces in London, has finally been aired.
It was broadcast during Janice’s December 16th program — last Tuesday night, early Wednesday morning.
If you missed it, like we did, you’ll be able to listen to it on the BBC iPlayer for another six days.
One assumes that their conversation was the source for the clips used in the December 15th BBC 6 Music News podcast but we haven’t been able to masquerade as a member of the UK public yet to download the episode.
The interview on Out.com that we — and they, for that matter — warned you about was posted on Out’s Popnography blog today and lo! It turned out to be a two-part video interview! In this first part, Tori addresses the subject of songs she no longer wants to perform live, the reason why doesn’t talk about the music she’s listening to and the ice cream flavor she and Charles Manson both like. Part two will be posted tomorrow.
And while we’re on the subject of Out, we should also note that they’ve declared Pink and Glitter as one of the ten Gayest Christmas Songs.
Thanks to Noah, Tati and Sirasion for the tips!
On Friday afternoon, Tori capped off a week of promoting the release of Midwinter Graces in New York City by performing live at Electric Lady Studios. The hour-long performance was webcast on Facebook via Livestream and was followed by a live chat with Spinner’s Jessica Robertson who asked Tori a few questions of her own and then posed several fan-submitted questions collected on Facebook.
The following songs were played during the concert portion of the show: Lady in Blue, Beauty of Speed, Leather, Snow Angel, Girl, Cooling, Cool on Your Island, Star of Wonder, Bells for Her, A Silent Night With You, Wednesday, Ophelia, and Pink and Glitter. Unfortunately, the performance has not been archived, though the possibility exists that some or all of the show will be made available later. However, some of the interview is currently available for streaming on Livestream:
Fortunately for those who missed the live webcast, some intrepid Toriphiles were able to record most of the songs and have shared them on YouTube. Thanks to marckarlock for getting nearly all of the webcast! Jump the cut to check it out!
Accompanied by a horn section and that big band sound, Tori performed “Pink and Glitter” on The Late Show with David Letterman on Thursday, December 10th. Video of the appearance has not been posted on The Late Show’s website yet, but you-know-who has it for those of us who missed it (or ahem fell asleep on the couch):
Candace Rainey spoke to Tori about Midwinter Graces for Elle magazine and a short video with clips from the interview has been posted on elle.com.
Thanks to Danelle for catching this one!
Rather out of the blue, Daytrotter, a music website which brings artists in to their Rock Island, Illinois studios to record exclusive sessions that are shared for free, posted a session Tori did for them! As with most Daytrotter sessions, it’s four songs long, including “Lady in Blue,” “Ophelia,” “Pink and Glitter” and “A Silent Night With You.” All four tunes are available to stream and, if you register with the site, to download as well. Every session includes an artist’s rendition of the performer (this one is courtesy of Johnnie Cluney) and a written piece about the recording which is worth a read.
Thanks to Eliot Lear for being the first to catch this and let us know!
The third jewel in Wednesday’s slate of promotional appearances was a taping of the public television program Live From the Artists Den. The program describes itself as “featuring extraordinary artists performing in extraordinary settings,” and the episode with Tori will be no exception as it was recorded at the Park Avenue Armory, the former home of New York State’s Seventh Regiment of the National Guard which has been retooled as an alternative arts space.
Thanks to @SharonIsAwesome, @districtbelle and alison, we have the setlist posted in the Tour section. The performance opened with “Ruby Through The Looking Glass” and also featured “Girl,” “Ophelia” and “Toast.” Interestingly, no songs from Midwinter Graces were played so one would expect the airdate for the episode to be sometime well into next year — though when it will be shown has not yet been announced.
If you happened to attend this taping and would like to share your impressions of the evening and performance, please leave a comment on the show’s page in the Tour section!
Wednesday, December 9th was a busy day as Tori also appeared live on CNN International’s Connect the World where she spoke with host Becky Anderson about Midwinter Graces and RAINN and also answered questions submitted by readers of Connect the World’s blog. Video of the appearance was posted on CNN.com the following day and was also used as source material for an article on CNN World.
Thanks to Mark-Alexis, “Mike Holliday* and Bille for catching this one!
Dressed, as she emphatically pointed out, as “a very friendly nutcracker,” Tori appeared on the WNYC radio program Soundcheck on Wednesday, December 9th to promote the release of Midwinter Graces. Due to high interest, the live broadcast was moved to The Greene Space, the station’s performance studio, allowing a small audience to attend the broadcast. For those not lucky enough to get tickets to the event, video of the broadcast was also streamed live on the web.
During the appearance, Tori spoke with host John Schaefer about the genesis and evolution of Midwinter Graces and she performed “Star of Wonder,” “A Silent Night With You” and “Pink and Glitter”.
If you missed the live broadcast, you can stream or download a mp3 of the appearance from WNYC. Unfortunately, the video stream does not appear to have been archived but WNYC has kindly put “Star of Wonder” up on YouTube:
If you were one of the lucky few who were able to attend the broadcast, we’d love to hear about it — please post a comment on this performance’s entry in the Tour section!
